My PMDG "career" has started nearly 1.5 years ago, it's about time for this post. I started of with the JS41, enjoying it but soon feeling I need a plane I often fly with as passenger, so I soon got the NGX, followed by the expansion pack. As I felt that I want to get into heavies too, the MD11 joined the fleet. I fly all of them a lot, and last week I bought the 777. Why not? If it doesn't work I have it ready for better times when I have a decent desktop. But now, after turning down a few settings I totally enjoy it. None of the other planes gave me the feeling of flying a large plane and "being there". I already flew her into the most complex s…

Hi everyone, I noticed recently that I was able to manually override the throttles with my Saitek X52 Pro at any point during the flight, even when VNAV of FLCH are engaged. This really annoys me so I realised that I could change this in the simulation options. My question is the following: In the real T7, can pilots manually override the A/T by pushing the throttle levers while VNAV or FLCH are engaged, or is this just an in-sim option? I notice, that in the pinned bug list, the FBW functionality issue still resides in the "under investigation" category. This is despite the fact that many items have been recently added to the "fixed" category. I recall that Ryan said the trim issue had been fixed. So has the trim issue been fixed for SP1 or not? This is the main issue for me, really hope it's been addressed.

Last night I was operating ACA15 to Hong Kong from Toronto. As I was prepping the FMC, I used my usual reduced thrust setting (TO-1) and proceeded to enter the CG and such so the FMC can calculate the v-speeds for me. Weird thing happened, it didn't! So after 5 minutes of fiddling, I went back and changed the thrust setting to TO, and the FMC was able to calculate the v-speed just fine. Can anyone explain the mechanics here? Is there a specific condition under which the FMC doesn't allow a reduced thrust takeoff/can't calculate the v-speed? Hi Guys Hope you can help. Ive recently reinstalled the 777 after a hard drive crash. It was working perfectly well but since I've done the fresh instal it seems to be missing most of the text from the ND and checklist. Ive posted a screenshot to show what I am seeing. Im running a fairly high spec PC running Windows 8.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The only thing I can add to this product will be an actual weather radar installed in the aircraft. Will that ever possible in this product or future products. I can do without an EFB, but a weather radar would add much realism; especially the fact that I am flying out of SBGL to EGCC

Hello, i want to unregister my serial and reinstall my OS but i can't access to FMC, FSX Closes yourself with PMDG 777 after it loads the flight. I just take a look to manuals and i see this, now i'm planning uninstall T7 first and reinstall OS, can i use my serial again without any problems? I'm afraid because i'm in limit serial activation, maximum 2 times and i used 1, only 1 left. Thank you!

Hi Folks, Kindly request you to share your ideas on how to build a basic home cockpit given there are no 2D Panels in this product, I have built few Home Cockpit 7 screens on FSX products who offer both Pilot and Co-Pilot Panels. The Front panel (Merge of Pilot and Co-pilot) is projected in Front with 2 external views, 1 Overhead and Center panel it comes With Yoke, Rudder, Throttle, MCP and FMS hardware it came up as a pretty good home cockpit facility. I use the Touch screen for Overhead panel mounted on a frame and it functions just great. In the same setup, I can use with one side panel only the PMDG 747 and 737 and they also give great experience. For 77…

Hi, 20 november was the update that the SP1 is almost ready, 300ER is going out for testing. It should take a couple of weeks. They were 6 weeks working on it and were half way through! So, we are 4 weeks later now. My guess the release of 300ER and SP1, which come together, is imminent. Either this saturday, or a Christmas release is my best guess. What do you guys think? hi guys, http://i.imgur.com/iBE8DGf.png hop you see what i mean. I had this problem in the ngx too but there i could just turn the displays down untill the background is black.. it does not appear in the MD11 or any other addon. in the T7 i cant do that so i need a fix, also its much stronger than in the ngx. i found out that it gets much less if i turn off the highly detailed cockpit option but that does not look very nice over time. hope someone knows what to do. thanks, Leeroy

On final approach onto RW35L at DFW. I am trying to do a "by the book" landing based on the information in Tutorial 1. After VNAV slows me down to 210 (flaps 1 extended) I pressed the speed knob to get into speed intervention mode. I have SPD, LOC and G/S activated (in green) on the PFD. I lower the gear and I dial in 172 knots and extend flaps 5. The plane begins to slow but before reaching 172 the speed jumps irratically and won't slow any more. I extend speed breaks, dial in 154 and begin extending flaps to produce as much drag as I can. Hi Guys, Im looking for some help setting up various practice scenarios for landings. I would like to position the plane in the air (say, 45° to the runway at 3000ft about 10nm out, alt hold on, AT on, etc.), pause and then save the flight. That way, when i need to try the approach again, i can just reload the flight and soft-disconnect the AP and not have to set fuel, take off, position, etc. My question is, does the 777 / 737 NGX support saving midlfight? I know we need to load a default aircraft first (i have the aircreation glider spinning on the screen before i hit Fly Now anyway). Maybe pausing the sim, saving FSX and saving a panel state? Preamble: Yes, this topic has been covered time and again in this particular forum, I have read and followed pretty much every single topic concerning the issue of low FPS, and I've tried endless combinations of tweaks to try and get her to run smooth, but it just doesn't seem to want to work! The result has me running a stock FSX install with no addons except the T7 and FTX:G. I feel like I've wasted a fair sum of money on addon airports considering I get < 10FPS at them. This is so simple it is not funny. If you want to do a 17-20 hr long flight on the 777-200LR and you are always having those crash to desktops, this is what you do. Stay in the cockpit after setting up your flight at the gate and don't change views. You will avoid those crash to desktops, and a flight attendant might even be surprised you are in the cockpit you'll get offered dinner like a real pilot does! A little cheeky but yes, those crash to desktops will be unheard of.

Hello Team and greetings. I've been a happy user of the 777 until a could of weeks ago, when it started to become unusable for me. Here is the sequence of degradation: 1. When the 777 was released, I was one of the first to order and install. The aircraft performed well and very smoothly. I was able to add several liveries, update Ops Center, and update FMS data without issues. Loading times were normal. 2. As of two weeks ago (give or take), when I select the 777 from the aircraft menu (regardless of livery or 777 type), the aircraft spins but it struggles to spin - as if a performance or graphics issue was going on. Hi, Since going from flying nothing but the freighter to flying AA around the USA. I set fuel as needed and PAX/Cargo I set random until it gives me something above 60%, but trim is always 2.75! I do have fuel on short distance and lower as my flights are not long. e.g KPHX-KLAS Is this normal or do I have a bug. It was always 4-5 range when cargo. Thanks

I can't seem to climb with the 777 with VNAV pushed and on, I'm sure I have missed something but just can't find it please help. I have a CRZ alt set (360) it's purple there are altitudes set on my legs page. VNAV is green on the CDU and AP is green as well. I climb if I push the VS button but it's a slow climb because the aircraft will slowly low down. It wont increase speed as I climb. I think it is related to the VNAV issue though. I don't have the 737 but I do have the MD-11 so I can't really figure out what I'm missing. Please help stranded at 20,000'. Ryan Gann

My 777 does not follow waypoint speed restriction (to slow down before descent). Have to manually reduce speed using speed intervention knob. Either, after selecting lower descent speed on FMC Desc. page, the plane supposed to reach that speed, before T/D waypoint ( as 737ngx does), but it doesn't. I don't think it is normal for this plane, isn't that ?

Hello, I've recently begun painting a custom livery for myself, and i was wondering if there is a way to flip whatever i did on the left side of the aircraft (the "correct" side of the paintkit) to the top reversed side, Do i have to move everything individually to the other side or can i flip the left side as a whole and just put it over the right side. & also, I have added some very intricate details to my paint, so how can I convert it to be the highest quality possible?
