PMDG 777

  1. Started by AlphaNGX,

Hello captains, I have a question about the windows in the 777 paint kit. If I save the plane's 3 parts I get the windows covered in FSX. How do I fix that? How can I make the plane having windows you can see through like the main liveries do? Thank you so much.

I have had absolutely no luck in re-loading a saved flight in this otherwise excellent bird. Now I may be doing something wrong but I really can't think what. Here's how I proceed:- Before exiting the part completed flight I click on the FMC menu button to go to PMDG setup and select "Save panel state". I enter a name for the flight and click "save" and then the execute button. I then carry out an FSX save by hitting the ; key and entering a title for the flight. When done I exit the flight and then exit FSX. Next day, or whenever, I start up FSX and when at the rotating microlight screen I click "load". Up comes the list of saved flights and I click on th…

I have flown the 777 as captain and now am sim instructor on 300ER. This is not to say I am the owner of all knowlege 777 - far from it, but I'm also not a kid leaning on the fence at an airport dreaming of one day being able to fly. I have noted several posts about cold and dark. It is very unusual for a pilot to see this - but not impossible. With ETOPS, EDTO (several terms) there is a bit of checking to be done before the beast gets airborne, so usually one will arrive at the aircraft fully powered up with packs on and maybe even a brew of coffee already made. My query is in the PMDG model, the default on the NAV RAD page is for the radios to all be manually tuned…

This is just an observation. The first time I started a descent in the 777 I was blown away by the sound of the engines spooling down from SPD, to IDLE, to HOLD This was the most ominous sound I have ever heard. Like a giant bird of prey come to take the earth away or the gates of hell opening to reveal it’s frightening sounds. The engines startup and takeoff sounds are impressive but for my money nothing can beat the sound of engines at the beginning of descent. 50 plus descents later I am still as impressed as I was the first time. PMDG once again raised the bar with the 777 and like many of you, I am hooked on this bird. I also splurged for PFPX, which to no one's surprise, I've found to be another game changer. I was working on PFPX last night, trying to learn how to use it properly etc. I also wanted to see if there were any airline schedules (that operate the 777 of course) that I could import into PFPX. No luck thus far. Anyways, in searching for schedules, I stumbled upon this site: http://www.theeksource.com/jettracker.html Based on my forum searches, I don't think it has been discussed. This site is a one-stop shop for Emirates and the 777. It allows you to pull the exact schedul…

Dear 777 Pilots, Can somebody advise where I can find a real flight training program for T7? I'm looking for flying lessons which include standard operations and non-standard operations training. I'm a pilot with A320, T154, Y40 experience and would like to discover T7 in a very professional way. I dream to have a training schedule with concrete tasks. For example this weekend I would like to train all engine failure situations and I need professional task story like place, weather, route, weight, fuel, failute type and task target. Even I have no idea for Touch and Go patterns. I know how to perform it, but not sure about weight and fuel values which are used for re…

Hello, recently when I attempt to take off my plane will always go into RTO mode when the speed reaches about 85 knots. I checked the flight manual and noted 2 parameters causing RTO: 1. speed reaches 85 knots and 2. thrust at idle. For my take off procedure, I always increase the thrust to about 55% N1 and then click the TOGA button so my thrust lever are never at idle. Also when I look at the thrust lever during take off, I could see after clicking TOGA it will advance to full so I can't see what else is causing the issue. I searched for some similar posts but they related to issues caused by hardware control, which I am not using. Can anyone advise what el…

  17. Hi, While I like the 'flying feel' of the VC, I fly using the 2d panels because I find the VC unnatural and difficult to use. Gauges are half the size of 2d panels, making them difficult to read. And my cursor keeps slipping off dials and knobs, especially if my view is slipping around in turbulence, turns, and climbs. I find it frustrating and, after a while, unenjoyable (despite how cool it looks). I end up back in 2d - that is just what I prefer. But PMDG have said they won't be making a 2d panel for the 777, which is a bummer for simmers like me. So, I was wondering, will the SDK and shipped gauges allow users like me to construct our own 2d panel? …

SOURCE : http://www.flight.org/blog/2013/12/04/boeing-777-thrust-reference-setting-anomally/ Boeing 777 Thrust Reference Setting Anomally There is (what can only be described as) a software bug in the Thrust Reference setting software in the 777. While this bug manifests itself in several situation on normal and non-normal operations, it manifests significantly with flight safety implications during VNAV engine-out approaches. Boeing’s airplane design is such that GA (Go Around) is set as the thrust limit (displayed above the N1 indication) any time the flaps are extended (FCOM 04.20.16 refers) or the glide slope is captured. One assumes that Boeing’s inten…

Does anyone know of any freeware that will keep a log book of all your flights in FSX? I am not looking for something fancy, all I want to record is the aircraft, date/time, Dep/Arr airports and flight time. I know there's a "Pilot Records" in FSX but it seems that if I reload a saved flight in the middle, the Dep airport will be blank. I am wondering how other PMDG simmers are logging their flights. Thanks!

Just wondered what source of navigation Data for the FMS flyers of the 777 are using? I was not too chuffed when programming the FMC with a Flight Plan taken from FSX to get the dreaded "not in database" message to variour waypoints and airways from the FSX generated route. I sometimes source routes from Vataware but often find the same issues with "not in database". What is the best way to get current airways and routes suitable for the T777? Many thanks!

Hi there. I purchased this beautiful aircraft yesterday and after a few landings I noticed that on all them there are several random "Bumps" after i touch down. It is quite annoying. Maybe I am missing something but It hasn't ever happened with any other aircraft. I have seen a lot of other videos of PMDG 777 landing on YouTube and some of them I can see have the same problem as me. For example: I touchdown, the plane quickly jumps and you can see the main gear hydraulics taking the full weight of the aircraft to nothing at all, then back down again. I wish I could explain it better but that is the best I can do. It isn't my computer/Drives/FSX issue. Yes I h…

If you think you're clever, read the intro manual. I'll say that again, in a different way: If you think you're the first person to spot a "bug," read the intro manual. I'll say it a third time, in another different way: If you're having a problem, read the intro manual. ...why? That's what the forum is for, you say? Because all of the Beta testers threw together some thoughts as to what we knew would trip you up. This was then compiled into some tips, tricks and hints in the intro manual for your convenience. A lot of effort went into that intro manual, so please, please, please...PLEASE...prove me wrong...for once...and read at least …
