I'm unable to get the GSX Pushback menu to show at FSDT KFLL with the PMDG parked at the Gate....

 

The GSX menu with Ctrl-F12 only pops up with a menu of options to open various Hangar doors around the airport.

 

I'm guessing I need to get the AC in a specific configuration to possibly get the menu to show but can't figure out how/why...?

 

It's been some years since I've flown any Heavies in FSX (LDS 767) and am getting used to the complicated departure check list when at the gate.

 

So far Engines off and parking breaks set have not helped...

 

Is there somewhere I can get a tutorial on this with GSX pushback feature?

2. In terms of your specific problem with GSX, if you haven't already you should direct this to Umberto and the team at the FS Dreamteam website.

 

3. I can tell you that I have both products (GSX & PMDG777) and they play well together with no glitches. (Early on with the introduction of the PMDG777 there were a few glitches with GSX but for the most part they've been ironed out now thanks to GSX team introducing some updates/patches).

Did you have to request pushback via FMC for instance or have the chocks removed etc...

FSDT Airports will have their own menu to open/close hangar doors etc.

You open this menu with CTRL+F12

 

FSDT's GSX has it's own menu to start pushbacks/load/unload etc.

You open this menu with CTRL+F12

 

IF you have both installed, you will find that at certain airports (ie ones that are FSDT addons) you will have BOTH menus pop up when you press CTRL+F12

 

You will then presented with 2 options. You will have to pick the Ground services one, and not the Airport one.

 

If you use an airport that isn't an FSDT addon, say, YSSY, then you will find the FSDT Airport menu won't be there. If you can make the ground services do their thing at YSSY, then the only configuration problem you have is that you selected the Airport name when you pressed CTR+F12 instead of the Ground services menu.

Some airport gates are not deemed suitable for certain aircraft. If you spawn at a gate that is "Too Small" for your aircraft (As determined by the AFCAD file of the airport which specifies a maximum wingspan), when you select the Ground Services to do anything, you will get an error sound (ding) and a small message up the top of your simulator saying that aircraft cannot be serviced at this gate or similar, and the ground services will fail to spawn. If this happens I usually slew off the gate, then select the Ctrl+F12 menu, ensure I'm using the Ground Services menu and not the "Random airport name Services" menu, and then see if I can be teleported to another gate that is large enough for the aircraft type.

 

There is a way to edit the gates at the airport to allow larger aircraft to spawn there. This is sometimes useful if the AFCAD wasn't generous enough to allow any, say, 777's on the airfield. In that window, there's an icon shaped like a plane with a square around it that can make the selected gate "big enough" for the currently used aircraft.

 

If you do this at a gate truly too small for your aircraft though, you may find unusual things like "your wing is inside a building" and so on.

I think my problem is the Menu only allows me to select either Option: 1-Trial GSX or 2-KFLL...

 

Shouldn't it work in FULL mode at this FSDT AP and not just give me Hangar Options as its a FSDT AP?

What does option 1 give you?

 

Obviously Option 2, KFLL contains options to open hangar doors etc, because it's the menu regarding options about KFLL airport. And not options about pushing back, which is what GSX does.

 

I think you may also find that this "Issue" occurs with default aircraft, and not just PMDG.

 

Since PMDG isn't FSDT, and the issue seems to be with FSDT's GSX and FSDT's KFLL, perhaps you should direct your enquiry to FSDT instead of PMDG?
"Hey PMDG I can't get FSDT's GSX to push my default FSX A321 by Microsoft back at FSDT's KFLL! make it work!"

If you are using a full paid GSX product and not just a Trial, then maybe there's been some clash of old versions of stuff still being installed. I find this topic which may be similar.

If you are using the trial version only... then select option 1 lol.

 

Again to reiterate. GSX is not a PMDG product. It is an FSdreamteam product. If the FSdreamteam product isn't working properly due to some configuration or whatever, PMDG can't help you fix the FSdreamteam product.

Also  you can customise  the airport parking for your aircraft if it comes up saying cannot service your plane here etc.  Also there is  a detailed explanation how  to do it in the gsx manual that came with the installation

I dont know if i uderstood the problem in the right way but in my case i open the GSX menu with CTRL+shift+F12 to avoid interactions with other stuffs

I'm sorry that I interfere in discussion... I have one question about GSX’s pushback of PMDG 777. While pushback, I see in external view that nose wheel irregulary vibrates in left and right directions (also pedals and tiller in VC), however pushback process is correct. It happens when aircraft begins turn while pushback.

(with NGX, there is no similiar issue).

 

At first, I had an idea that I should try pushback with CENTER hydraulic system off (center system powers nose wheel) - but that didn't help.

 

Do you know this "effect"? ...and maybe do you know a solution?

Well I've discovered that all AC do not show GSX Ground Services Menu at FSDT KFLL...!

 

FSDT KLAS works fine...

 

Still waiting for support over at FSDT GSX Support.  Man they are sloooooow over there and haven't gotten back to me in quite a while.

Yes, but GSX works in Full mode at all FSDT Airports of which I have FDST KFLL...

 

Now I'm leary of buying the full version if it doesn't work at all/other airports.

GSX works at all airports. (That have an AFCAD that resembles anything normal. Some "OZx" small GA airports don't have an AFCAD with gates, so you can't even spawn at a gate/parking spot with those airports, only on the runways. GSX can't send the pushback truck to the "there isn't a gate" not-gate so doesn't really work at these places, but those are rare. And you should probably only be flying props in there anyway.

 

But when you visit FSDT addon airports, the F12 menu comes up with 2 options that can surprise you. If you select the wrong option (ie the Airport instead of GSX) then you don't see the correct GSX menu. (because you selected the wrong menu)

 

It's like a menu tree. Unfortunately you don't see the "Second tier" of options till you select either option 1 or 2 on the first tier.

   1. Disembark
   2. Refuel
   3. Catering
   4. Embark
   5. Push Back
   6. Reset
2. Airport Options
   1. Open West Hangar Door
   2. Open East Hangar Door
   3. Turn on funny random feature
   4. Turn off funny random feature

 

If you select option 2, then you don't get to see the GSX options. So you will need to press F12 to close the menu, then F12 to reopen the menu and select the right option instead of the wrong one.

 

I use GSX on more "Not FSDT Addon Airports" than actual FSDT addon airports, so I often get taken by surprise when I hit F12 and suddenly see the extra menu.

Yes but at FSDT KFLL I'm only getting 2 options with F12...

 

1- GSX Trial Mode which when selected warps me to one of three FSDT Airports don't even own or...

 

2- KFLL menu which brings up The airport Hangar menu.

 

Again this doesn't happen at my FSDT KLAS AP as I get the GSX ground services menu to come up instead of the Trail Mode menu.
