hopskip's post in Smoke underneath was marked as the answerYou will also notice it in non-PMDG planes. Default 737 for one (assuming you ever depart an airport in the rain, and return in the dry).

hopskip's post in Unable to locate fsx.exe was marked as the answerhttp://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library
Registry Repair Tool, Run as Administrator.
If an installer can't find FSX, it means the windows registry doesn't know where FSX is. When the installer is run, it asks the Operating system where certain files are. Windows holds a registry, like an index, of the location of various files on the HDD/SDD's. FSX isn't listed on your operating system, thus the Installer doesn't know where it is.
Incidently this same issue will also cause the PMDG 744 and MD11 to have no Magnetic Variation data, and fly off course and show the wrong heading on the ND.

hopskip's post in Has anyone managed this? was marked as the answerThe P3D is the more interesting EULA in this respect.
Though multiple installations of NGX on 2 platforms is also of interest, though I would assume people using P3D are not likely have FSX installed on their system, or at least not for long after they migrate everything over.
Nevertheless, some aspects of the P3D EULA seem to be at odds with the NGX EULA.
