Just looked around from the G.A. parking apron. The airport and downtown look really good in the view. I have the sim at Ultra, with Shadows as Insane...and no lower, at any time than 109 FPS! Amazing... Ok, I have one negative comment...over Meigs...is that Orbx used a really low level zl numerical factor, that wraps around the Chicago downtown, and in my opinion, ruins the immersion factor of the product. I can do much better, with Ortho4XP at zl17. It looks to me, like it was generated at zl 14 or 15. Not clear and crisp at all. This is one disappointment. They could have done better, and yeah...no matter what the download size...they should have …

Hi all, considering giving this one a whirl, but what I'm afraid of is a "Google Earth flight simulator" - you know just a scenery simulator. How are the flight models and the feeling of flight? I've seen references to flight unlimited 3 - which is a great compliment - to this day that simulator gave me the most believable feeling of flight I've ever experienced in a sim. And it also modeling ground handling very well, requiring opposite aileron in a crosswind, which I don't think I've experienced since. How is Aerofly in this regard? Thanks.

Bellow the answer Jan ( IPACS ) posted to a query I made regarding the modelling of turboprops in AEFS2 - this shows detail and commitment to a high simulation level! I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the Q-400 :-) At least graphically it looks simply ASTOUNDING! https://www.ipacs.de/forum/showthread.php/8264-Updates-Coming-Your-Way?p=40404#post40404

Link in this post from the AEFS2 forum https://www.ipacs.de/forum/showthread.php/8298-Aerofly-fan-site Beware that since last week the AEFS2 Forum has been a target of various SPAM messages!!! Not this one apparently :-) which, at most, can "infect" you with additional reasons to invest in AEFS2 :-)

Posted by Drhotwing1 https://www.ipacs.de/forum/showthread.php/8264-Updates-Coming-Your-Way Hello All, I wanted to give everyone some reason to be excited about some upcoming updates to Aerofly FS 2 (more than the pure excitement of flying in general). So, most of you already know about the upcoming ORBX releases of LOWI and KCGX, and the mention that ORBX is planning on releasing more larger regions to follow. We want you to know that there is a lot going on that is indeed very exciting for the future of FS2. Current work is being done to complete the new GeoConvert tool that will allow for you to easily make your own photo-real scenery to fly over. As you alrea…

After I purchased FS2 went to the IPACS forum, registered and got the machine message welcome. Clicked the URL and all was peachy keen but I can't even log on. Emailed their 'Webmaster' and got a Non Delivery message - mail box full. Any ideas how to get around this? If I can't log on, there's no access to the repaints and sceneries you gents are creating. By the way, I'm really impressed with this sim.

Been trying to assign items to my X52 joystick and those having to do with flying are fine. It's the VIEWS/SIMULATOR/GAME areas that have me perplexed. I read that keyboard is not yet usable but I do have a Logitech F300 if that can be used. Any thoughts, advice or expressions of sympathy are appreciated.

Let the games, begin! ' From JV's keyboard; Some of the large area regional projects we are working on for AeroflyFS2 are going to blow your minds and elevate the sim to a new level. We have new tech incoming which will massively streamline production of vast photoreal areas so there's going to be a whole new 200fps world to discover. 2017 is going to be epic!'

Not good! They need to clean up the tree layer, as an overlay to their DLC! Right now, it looks terrible. I think the original tree mask looked much better, more densely packed, and did not cover the beaches, or lakes, rivers, or ocean masks. How did this slip by the team, even if put out upon the Beta channel?!?!? Trees are even out in the water, in keys and bays... I hope a fix is coming soon...before JV's release day: June 15th!~

I see that the 747 can have a virtual pilot model at the controls but does it also have a co pilot model as well? The videos I have seen only show a pilot. Also I read their is a virtual co pilot that will control the entire flight from take off to landing,,,is that true? In the 747 do most of the knobs, switches and such work and do the systems work such as the fmc? What is the original model for the 747 (like the airbus is Aerosoft's bus).

Hi Folks: Just wanted to share my experience so far with Aerofly FS2 from IPACS: - Excellent fluidity (FPS limited to 128 without sttuters). - Ideal for VFR flying, as scenery is as real as a real picture. The lightning, the sensation of "being there" is the most real of all sims I ever tried. - Easy interface, qiuck setup. - Easy controls setup process. - Excellent stock aircraft with nice effects, lightning, reflections and physical behavior (IPACS is still working on some needed additional features, like instruments, fuel capacity & comsuption, engine start-up process, FMC, etc., but they'll eventually get there, hopefully soon). …
