I've seen the news that Aerofly FS2 has just been released. Having flown mostly in FSX, P3D and X-Plane, I am curious to know how it compares? How are the graphics compared to P3D? Is Aerofly FS2 more of a flight simcade than a full blown simulator? Is it more along the lines of Dovetail's FSW? I'm looking for an alternative to P3D, something where I can quickly set up and fly, without having to worry too much about flight planning etc. Something a bit more casual. Is Aerofly FS2 the sim for me?

Hello, I installed TPcast wirless virtual reality for HTC-Vive HMD , With Aeroflyfs2 simulator, performance is , as good as with the orginal wired HTC-Vive . Its a great combination. Best Regards, Aftab.

A month or so ago i purchased ftx meigs and lowi from ftx central when there was a sale.. i run aerofly via steam (not sure if this is why).. but when i run it, i dont see either of these on the map.. i've reopened ftx central and tried again, no joy.. What could i be missing here? Anyone ran into this? Thanks

I'm trying to set the detents for thrust reverser with AF2 with these quandrants.. at least with P3d you can set the detent to toggle thrust reverser and then push it forward to gain engine speed (in reverse), then back down to toggle it off.. I tried setting the detent button as the toggle, but it doesnt seem to work.. sometimes the lever in the sim pulls up other times it stays stuck.. Has anyone had any success with this? Thanks in advance

ok so i purchased aerofly 2 a few mths ago played it a little and never got back to it, i then played fsx abit in VR and due to crashing due to errors etc (fly-inside and limited 32 application thanks to FSX) I returned to aerofly, i then flew with the 737500 and started to enjoy the scenery etc in VR however in FSX in enjoyed most the glass cockpit of the 737800 PMDG, however today i took the default 747 of aerofly for a quick flight wow i am so impressed with this flightsim ever though the fmc doesn't work the sense of being in a 747 flight deck and the amazing stunning views in VR was jsut spectacular ! ORBX has released version 1.2 of KCGX Meigs. It can be updated via FTX central. Customers of the steam DLC version will see this update within steam shortly, according to Ed Correia. This update adds autogen buildings and trees. See details in the ORBX Forum announcements for details.

I've got my Rift for over a month now and really, everytime I fly in Aerofly FS 2, really every single time, I can't help being amazed and in awe of what I see. The feeling of actually being there keeps on making my jaw drop. Yes, you do get used to the 3D effect in the cockpit, just like you do get used to 3D in real life LOL, but still, the immersion... I just did a flight from a high altitude airport to a lower one and at one moment I passed a mountain ridge and saw a truly immense valley in front of me, with mountains on the side in the far away distance and the setting sun was shining... I mean... seriously... I WAS THERE! It didn't LOOK immense, it WAS immense! But …

Is it just me or is this DIY Google Earth SDK approach to our flightsim a bit of a turn off. I dont mind paying for add ons I want but I sure as heck do not want to make them. Anyone else feel the same way?

For those unfamiliar with the name Robin Corn, he is the gent (scenery designer) who started the successful kickstarter to create a NZ photo scenery. This is a peek at some of his progress in Aerofly, which I thought some here might be interested in taking a look at. ( Yes I contributed to the kickstarter and am eagerly following Mr Corns progress)

"Cultivation" is the name for Aeroflys current (in development for the last few months) internal autogen for photoscenery process, and progress has so far been promising. Now Arno, over at FsDeveloper has taken a look and found that making scenProc compatible with Aerofly works quite well with some pictures of the results available and looking quite promising. Is there any commercial interest for producing more scenery or aircraft yet please?

If you have bought both sims then you might be interested to know that IPACS has announced they are coming out of early access in a couple of weeks.

A quick google search shows nothing seemingly relevant and IPACS doesn't appear to have a support email. Yikes. I had gotten FS2 a while back and never really used it much. My CH Eclipse yoke arrived yesterday. Windows 10 recognizes it just fine. FS2 does not. Have tried with different USB ports and rebooting several times but the controller still does not show up in FS2. Any ideas what I should try? Regards. Mike Kirda

For those wanting a different/better moving map with FS2, FSWidgets has made their android products compatible with FS2. Of course an android unit and thirty bucks are required but it does work a charm.

I tried to become a member of the iPacs forum early yesterday. I went through the membership process and at the end all was well and it noted that I would be contacted on final approval. I went into the site and I saw I was listed as a member and I could see my profile but I did not have access to create a message. I returned a couple of times that day and it listed me as a member who was online. I never did hear back from them and today I went to the site and I am no longer listed as a member. Very disappointing - anyone know what is going on? Thanks P.S. I did try and login again but it said that I did not exist in their database

I have been trying to fly the 737 using the autopilot but sometimes I can turn on the autopilot and other times I get the autopilot disconnect push to reset warning but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong any help please also must apologise for all the questions lately but am new to afs2 Thanks,jim

Hi been trying to view the map using keyboard letter m however nothing displays when using vr ,is the map view only available when in 2d mode. Thanks,Jim

Just setup my oculus but can't run afs2 in vr there is no vr option added to the afs2 settings also signed up for the beta in oculus but no afs2 app added after running afs any help would be greatly appreciated Jim

It looks to me like the IPAC forums may have been hacked. I just found 826 Chinese messages on there.

Those of you who own an Aerofly Fs version be aware that IPAC forums have just been hacked. I just went to check on the latest posts and founf 826 new messages in Chinese! Hope they fix that soon.
