I've flown all these days without a problem. Today I allow a security update of Windows7U64. What follows is incomprehensible!!!! Shortly after I launch AFS2, during the loading a BSOD occurs. The computer restarts. I restart AFS2 and Steam tells me I have to install AFS2 (146Gb)!!! I look in the Steam folder on my HD, I see that everything is there (146Gb, program, Dlc's and so on like before). However on Steam's website I can see "Not installed". I did a restore before update but it didn't change anything. 1-I don't know if it was the update or AFS2 or both that caused the Bsod. 2-Before clicking on "Install", is there an option that allows Steam to "…

Ok, just bought and installed AFS2 on Steam. The AFS2 updated Beta program with the Q400, Northeastern USA, Switzerland, and USA Colorado were installed without any problem. Now, this is the third time I've tried to install Utah without success. The files seem to download normally on Steam (+3hours) but I don't see them on my disk D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator\scenery\places\usa in which I have az, ca, co, nv, ny folders. When the download is complete, Steam shows Utah like "Not installed". What the.......??? Have the same issue with High Resolution Texture Pack for Southwestern USA after 15hours downloadin…

Wow, almost a month since anyone posted here anything... Things are going just as slow here as the development of Aerofly FS 2. Hopefully the upcoming release of TrueEarth Netherlands will bring some live into Aerofly FS 2 and this forum again... Can't wait for it and also for TrueEarth PNW! I seriously can't stand current AFS2 scenery anymore after experiencing all the detail (and color) in TrueEarth Netherlands so I hope Orbx will be real quick with the release! Until then I will have to do with P3D.

Hi guys, I'm working overseas and on the move a lot, so I've been considering a laptop for Aerofly, which is going to be my sim of choice in future. I would also like to add that I intend to go full on into VR not long after I purchase my custom made laptop. So, my question is, will the following spec machine suffice for future development of this sim: Intel 8700k CPU 16Gb RAM 512MB M2 SSD (For O/S only) 1TB M2 SSD (For sim) 2TB Seagate hybrid drive for storage Geforce 1070GTX with 8GB VRAM 17.5 inch 4k screen Windows 10 Professional Obviously I can add additional RAM in future, and have space for an additional 2 drives in…

I bought KEGE from Orbx direct this morning and was very impressed with it. AFS2 is a great sim and advancing with each new add on. Really looking forward to PNW. I find it hard to fathom why Orbx persist in doing 32 bit versions as well given the long load times and erratic performance issues of older sims. I think they should just do 64 bit sceneries in future. Releasing 32 bit add ons is holding back progress imho.

Hi all: The latest edition of PC Pilot Magazine, No. 114 - March/April 2018, Page 21, makes a review of Aerofly FS 2 and gives a PC Pilot Score of 90. Relevant points of the review were: 3D Modelling >>> EXCELLENT Graphics >>> STUNNING Documentation >>> VERY GOOD Performance >>> OUTSTANDING The review concludes that Aerofly FS 2, even if it's still on a continuing development phase, offers an unmatched level of realism due to the excellent performance it provides, and in their own words "if you want to experience what real flying is like, go and buy AFS2 and see for yourself". As a previous user of …

Downloading FS2 right now and I want to program my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS for FS2 ahead of time. For that I need to know the key commands used in FS2, like flaps up/down, trim up/down, gear up/down etc. A quick google search found me nothing. Is there a list for such key commands in FS2? There are key lists for MSFS, X-Plane etc.

I have no time for writing long essays, but I just wanted to share my experience with trying VR for the first time in a flight simulator. I just bought Oculus Rift with touch controls. Let me cut to the chase and say that I was truly amazed with the experience! VR in a flight sim is as real as it currently gets! The sense of beeing in and actual airplane is incredible. The perception of depth, size and speed takes on a completely new meaning compared to the monitor world. Thats the case when taxing around in a Cessna 172 (which I btw also fly in real life), and its even more the case when I load up the 747. Wow! Over the past few days I had some incredible flying exp…

Hello, I bought and downloaded AFS2 from Simmarket. The download at Simmarket doesn't have a version number and I suspect it isn't the latest. Their standard answer is they always have the latest version provided by the developer. To find out I would have to download 47 GB (!). Is there any better way to update?

So this should allow conversion of FS objects into AeroFly more easily. I'm sure I can add more features to the exporters, like ground polygons and things like that. So let me know if there are issues or suggestions. https://www.scenerydesign.org/2018/02/aerofly-fs2-support-in-modelconverterx/

Every once in a while I encounter the perception that Aerofly FS2 is simply FS1 with some slight changes. Superficially, (and without any countervailing information) I can see how that might appear to be the case, but with the intent of shining light into darkness (and before mushrooms take root) I wanted to present some things that may cast a bit more illumination on the actual situation. For those unfamiliar with the Original FS1 for instance, it might be a surprise to find out that it was in fact a DirectX based program, and that FS2 is now OpenGL, which alone entailed a ton of work that makes it a very different program, not at all compatible with its older …
