IPACS AeroFly FS2

Forum for the IPACS Aerofly flight simulator.  Website:  https://www.aerofly.com/

  1. Greetings Flight Simulator Enthusiasts, Greetings from IPACS, I'm Jeff (aka drhotwing1), i'm an IPACS development team member, and i'm here to share with you a blog that was put together over on the official Aerofly FS2 Flight Simulator forum in an effort to show our user base that there is a lot going on behind the scenes over at the IPACS headquarters. Most of you know that it takes time and a lot of dedication to make a flight simulator, especially if the team developing the flight simulator is a small one. I'll be breaking down the walls of the headquarters to give everyone a birds eye view of what's happening behind the scenes during the development of Aer…

It came to my attention via some conversations that many people don't know very much about their shiny new purchase of Aerofly: Some are completely unaware of how many States are included: California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona.... How many flyable planes.... (18) How many cities modeled. (Even I'm not sure) Or how many airports! I was startled to find that many people were flying around not aware that many major airports, modeled in very near payware quality were scattered all over the sim! KJFK, KLAX, KLAS, KLGA the list goes on and on. To help out, a user named Rodeo has compiled an Aerofly airport list, and I'm spreading it around the communit…

Just did a real nice flight Phoenix to Sedona in the King Air 90. I fly AF4 once in a while when i want a nice relaxed easy to jump into experience and AF4 delivers. Questions: is there a way to remove the green boxes that show your flight path? Also, in the King Air is there a way in the pressurization panel to adjust the cabin altitude - it does not see to be functional or am i missing something? I flew the 90 & 200 for quite a few years in the real world. Really an enjoyable sim when I don't feel like dealing with the relatively more complex msfs..

  7. It seems like every year (for years), around Christmas and New Years, I get the urge to buy or start flying AFS again. This year was no exception, and I must say AFS4 is quite impressive with all of the updates and additional planes etc. I enjoyed several flights in stutter-free, buttery smooth, 4K (monitor, not VR) and each was very enjoyable. Are there the usual drawbacks? (silly clouds, no rain, no moving traffic, silly water) But advantages, too - like downtown buildings and trees are visible and CLEAR for miles and it's all so crisp and smooth. I had a lot of simming time today and I found myself flying AFS4 for most of it and kept RETURNING…

Just posting a recent review, for anyone who might be curious.

  13. Started by ivatt,

Just purchased Aerofly FS 4 and trying to get my head around things having "switched" from MSFS2020 and x-plane 12. Is there a list published all the various commands? For example the option to have the co-pilot fly the plane has a symbol that I cannot decipher, It looks like some sort of back arrow but doesn't match any of the keys on my Turtle Beach Game Controller, nor my Turtle Beach Velocity One Throttle & Quad. As far as I can tell there doesn't seem any keyboard options. Is there a list of controls I could refer to? Thanks I have had to post on here because although I have registered on the Aerofly site forum my account hasn't been ac…

  18. Started by Republic DC9,

Last night, I could hardly fall asleep.....I was frustrated with XP12 AND MSFS 2024 for the day, and @monica6211 mentioned something about Aerofly which got me looking at the Steam sale on Aerofly FS4 and a bunch of Youtube videos of the same, and I was excited to wake up and install this AM. Long story short, I bought the thing (Aerofly FS4 + extra planes like the 737 Max) for about $50 USD and I also installed the free high-res scenery downloads for the US and Europe 1 and 2. I think I'm in love!? I had Aerofly FS2 in years past, and some of my "cultivation" files I somehow created (can't remember the workflow AT ALL but the younger me could do it!) are s…

    Started by Guest Kalnon,

Hello, I am a huge flight simulation enthusiast and I've used many flight simulators (and still do) including FS9, FSX, P3Dv5, MSFS, X-Plane 11 & X-Plane 12 as well as combat flight simulators. The only "major" flight simulator that I have yet to try is Aerofly FS4 and I was hoping to get some opinions on it as well as answers to some questions about it. I've had a difficult time finding all the information I want to know about it so I don't know a lot. I would greatly appreciate any opinions anyone wants to share about the simulator and what they think about it. Questions I have: 1. How much of the world has good scenery to fly over? I ask because I…

  21. It's an AMAZING FLIGHT SIMULATOR ! Yes it isn't modelling / featuring all of the stuff we already have in other flightsims, but what it does, specially regarding the "feel of flight" it does remarkably, and for me easily better than the mass use sims, specially MSFS which is nowadays my main Go-To sim ... Aerofly FS4 I Airbus A380 I Frankfurt - Milan (EDDF - LIMC) (youtube.com)

  22. Every once in a while i bump into something like this that reminds me how nice Aerofly can be (especially in vr) and I'm enticed into firing it up and flying for a bit.

  23. Started by HiFlyer,

From the Aerofly Forums: Blog: https://www.aerofly.com/features/aircraft/a319ceo/ We're happy to announce that the A319 is now available for Aerofly FS in the Steam Beta and Android Beta! The Airbus A319 is the third member of the A320 family and has a slightly shorter fuselage compared to the A320. Just like the A321 this aircraft comes with two engine options: the CFM56 and IAE V2500 engines, which depends on the airline livery that you select. Some liveries also have the Sharklets installed. In terms of features the A319 is very similar to the A320 or A321 but of course this aircraft is the lightest variant of the family and has a shorter takeoff an…

  24. We're already in AEFS4 but this forum still has the old AEFS 2 designation 🙂 BTW: Really enjoying my install of AEFS 4!!!
