To change the time of day in Aerofly, edit the file scenery-suisse.tmc <[float64][time_of_day][0.55]> The default value of 0.55 means its afternoon, and raising the number will make it later in the day.

Anyone else trying to use this combo? Just upgraded to a 670 and Aerofly seems to have very bad artifacts/flickers no matter what driver/settings I try. Every other app/game works perfect so it appears to be something in Aerofly that doesn't like the 670. Anyone else have this combo working? -P Hmmm... Found this in theaerofly FS ( deutschsprachig ) forums... http://www.ipacs.de/forum/showthread.php/5848-Grafikfehler-bei-transparenten-Fl%C3%A4chen-GTX680-Nvidia-301-10/page3

Dear Aerofly FS users, I believe I read somewhere that AeroFly FS was not modelling density altitude. Apparently there is no way to make temperature adjustments, but I believe that at least the variation of density with altitude should be modelled. . Does this flutter occur at lower IAS when flying higher? Thx in advance for any answers / tests your are so kind to perform :-)

In this community, with simulator pilots (with some real pilots mixed in) being the vast majority, I often think we forget what these games/sims look like to the vast majority of the rest of humanity. I don't think this guy will ever be concerned (ever!) with accurate climb rates, yet without him, a sim will never make enough money nowadays to be commercially viable. I'm glad he's happy! Consider this the the ultimate non-simmer review. (Fair warning, there is one quick curse at the beginning)

  6. I do not recommend products too often, but this is worth a mention. The screenshots below are taken directly from my iPad 3, the only edit was to reduce the size of the images and compress them for uploading. Aerofly might not have ATC, extra weather, etc, and those are limitations in comparison with FSX on a desktop, but for total fun on an iPad, it is incredible. Great for those moments when waiting in a dentist or doctor's office, or while on a train, aircraft, etc. Even just messing with it while on couch watching TV, in otherwords, it is a VFR and visual treat, with complete portability. I have X-plane for iPad, and also Infinite Flight, both of which have th…

Tried joining their forums a while ago but never got a confirmation of my application (seems I'm not the only one here). Oh well, no biggie I thought. Went to buy the game on Steam just now having finally got some free time only for it to crash on loading. Again, judging from the Steam forums quite a common problem despite everyone having up to date drivers. And they have the nerve to say on the Steam forums we can't offer support there so please join the Aerofly forums. I tried that already!!! Don't know if they check this forum or not but really not impressed.

My main interest to this new Sim was the focus on flying over Switzerland, with reportedly amazing photo scenery. When flying at 5,000 ft, you will indeed see a high quality, realistic photo scenery, even superior to FSX with Switzerland Pro. And the frame rates are great too. HOWEVER: - only a few airports are features in detail (5 to 10 airfields) and all are located in the central area of the country - autogen (buildings / trees) are only found around these few airports. Everywhere else: no autogen, so a very flat situation once you descend for landing. As commented by another reader, turbulence are quite realistic when you fly in the Alps with a small p…

My favorite flight sim experience was Flight Unlimited III. I can't put my finger on it, but there was something about that sim that made it more immersive than anything I'd experienced previously. The developer, Looking Glass, touted their "Computational Fluid Dynamics" based flight engine - and while the accuracy of that label was debatable, the realism it produced wasn't. This was the first sim in which the air itself seemed to be tangible, vs. the uniform field of position coordinates and the "riding on rails" sensation in the then current version of MS Flight Simulator.Of course, Flight Simulator continued to advance, and Flight Unlimited series stopped at III - but …

And that is not mentioned on the AeroflyFS website. Myself and at least one other experienced simmer (William Ortis, a.k.a. Lionheart) have purchased the sim, waited weeks for delivery, spent 2 hours installing it, only to be greeted with the message that our graphics card is out of date.My card is an Nvidia GForce 7950GT, vintage 2007, while Bill's is a Radeon 2600 XT, vintage 2010.The error message says there is a list of suitable graphics cards on the AeroflyFS website, but I have not been able to find it.My 7950GT runs FSX, Flight, Rise of Flight very well. So I feel cheated - if AeroflyFS had made it clear what the video card requirements are, I would never have purc…

Hi Folks,I've been 'eyeing' this flightsim since I saw the ad, (can't remember which store but may have been AVSIM's). It looked very cool and if I understood the ad, it covered all or most of Switzerland.I knew this was a 'special' kind of flightsim when I saw the way the wind sock was flowing, (it looked absolutely real). In fact, I thought the whole thing was a very well done flightsim and even called my wife in to see how real this one looked. So, the obvious question in my mind has to do with performance demands. In FSX, I have a pretty good number of scenery add-ons, (i.e.: REX, FTX, UTX, GEX etc.), and I get pretty decent performance from my 4.02GHz CPU. It can alwa…

So...I've got my disc (discs) from Aerofly. I've installed. I've just touched the system and it seems sound. Is there anyone out there who has explored the software enought to have an "expert" POV, or are we all explorers now?At first glance, it seems like a good platform, but it is clear that there remains much to do if it it is to meet expectations vis a' vis MSFS / X-Plane.Fun, none the less, (after 300 seconds or so).Braun

Ha, nice! An Aerosly FS forum! Hadn't noticed it up to now! This guy has some nice (HD) vids of Aerofly FS:http://www.youtube.com/user/TUCKIE10Hm, maybe I am going to buy Aerofly FS, just for the fun of it. One of the things I've been missing so far in FSX is sunshine: this one gives quite a sunny impression. It's a pity the autogen (apart from trees) is only places around airports, but this might be nice for a quick spin. This one looks nice too at full screen HD. The model and the shadows look awesome! The only thing why I didn't buy it yet (besides the fact that nothing works in the VC) is the lack of autogen houses... There are only autogen houses near airports: the…

I don't think I've ever seen better / worse PR timing..- Flight is announced, causes huge stir in the community, people start looking for alternatives- AeroFlyFS comes out at the same time - lots of buzz from YouTube videos - perfect timing!- Uh oh... it's not available in the US yet... no downloadable version- AeroFly is announced on Avsim! It must be available in the US now!- Uh oh, still not available in the US yet (???)- Two weeks pass...- It's now avaialble in the US! But not listed as an option in the US store by default (you have to click on flight simulators, then AeroFlyFS)- Aaaannnnddd... there's no announcement.I realize developers aren't marketing people - but…

Hi there,Anyone here tried the sail planes already ?....I'd love to ( since we have no control over our engine, apart from the throttle, sailing should feel more realistic ) but i can't seem to close those pesky airbrakes.... Both the Discus and the Swift are loaded sitting on the runway, winch cable attached, airbrakes fully out.... :huh:I couldn't find anything about a key to control the airbrakes in the manual but just coincidently i found that the 'W' key will lower them but if you let go of the key they'll nicely return to fully extended...Hitting the 'R' key i am launced alright but with those airbrakes extended all the time the flight always ends up in between the …
