  1. Just a heads up and warning for anyone considering purchasing their new Open LC product. I bought it this morning expecting an "instant download" (as advertised on FlightSimStore). Since then have been unable to download the product from any of their advertised servers. So £21 down and no product. Will give it till tonight then request a chargeback. Very poor customer service on their forums.

  2. This could go in any number of categories, but since I use P3D, and a plane with P3D support it works here I guess. I have the Carenado B58 that comes with a GNS430. However...the flight planner for the GNS430 doesn't work! Probably because it's set to the MS Flight plan system? Well, I can't manually create a plan in the MS planner. On top of that, I can't find a freeware planner that will export a .pln file that I can import into P3D. Trying to follow my AviatorPro flights, and I can't because they use RealityXP, which I'm not buying. At this point I'm tempted to just get the Airbus and get a whole bunch of features in one package.

Aircraft Carrier FLOLS in P3D I have seen several posts in the P3D forums on the FLOLS not being available in P3D V2.2. For some unknown reason LM, as far as I know, has never replied to pilots asking about FLOLS. Anybody know if the Fresnel lens optical landing system (FLOLS) available in the initial release of P3D?

I have almost all of the Orbx regions. Currently I'm running FTX Global but have not installed the regions in P3Dv2.2. How much of a performance hit can I expect to take with the regions?

I am hoping that somebody will have a solution for this.....I have tried absolutely everything. At the end of the taxiway near the threshold of Runway 30 where it curves to the right the surface appears to be rough ground and I cannot see tarmac or the centreline. However, if I select the external view behind and above the aircraft it strangely reappears. I know this is only a small problem but I feel it spoils what is actually an amazing airport scenery. Any ideas?

I am trying to found some kind of post or article or something that allows me to see that EZCA works, and the post isn't from 2013. Does anyone have proof that EZCA works out of the box for P3D? This is a $35 dollar app that at present does not seem to have any support. I'm reading about OPUS as well, but does anyone know what's the story with EZCA for EITHER of the sims?

Not only has performance gone down on my new top of the range PC, but I also have grey dots/spots popping in and out all the time all over the place. Looks a bit like weird little spots of shadow or something? If you compare the two pictures you should be able to see them: they are different all the time and popup all over the scenery at random places, so not only in spots like these but also where there are trees or whatever. These shots were taking within 2 seconds or so. It's highly annoying so see spots like these popping in and out all the time: completely spoils the immersion.

Has anyone actually gotten this to work? I've seen Shadowplay videos with Prepar3D.. It refuses to work ONLY with Prepar3D for me. Things I've tried. Disable SLI Disable all but one monitor Start Prepar3D in (fake) fullscreen mode Start Prepar3D in window mode Reverted my NI profile back to Nvidia default values Nope. Nodda. Zilch... Shadowplay never works.. I can load up any other game ranging from Splinter Cell Blacklist to GTA IV and Shadowplay works fine. Edit: Edited to Remove Windows 8.1 references as it had nothing to do with this.

De following message pop-ups: Index was outside the bounds of the array. Does someone know what the problem is and how i can resolve this? In detail de message says: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: De index ligt buiten de matrixgrenzen. bij FTXCentral.TerrainConfig.AddORBX(String RegionName) bij FTXCentral.TerrainConfig.UpdateRegions() bij FTXCentral.PublicDefs.UpdateTerrainCFG() bij FTXCentral.PublicDefs.InitFTXEnv() bij FTXCentral.FTXC.InitSystem() bij FTXCentral.FTXC.InitAll() …

  12. Well I've spend waaaaay too much time trying to get P3D V2.2 to work properly but despite fresh installs, default scenery/aircraft/everything I continue to get the R6025 error. Their official "support" forums are useless. They just blame ANY third party add-ons despite many customers having the same error despite with just a fresh install and no additional products installed. Sad because there are loads of nice features that could make it a better sim than FSX but for now I'm going back to FSX DX10. Maybe if they respond to customer complaints and fix the issue in a later version I shall purchase again. And if anyone finds a fix...please post it Cheers …

Started my IFR training. I was curious if anyone has used it as a supplement to their studying/training. Did it help? I was thinking of using the A2A 172 as it seems the most realistic as far as systems are concerned.

I've started a new install of FSX on a new machine, the first time I've been through this in nearly 4 years. Last time, it was all GEX and UTX as the basic scenery. This time around it's FTX Global base, and FTX Vector, as I will eventually want to use these in P3D with their cross-compatible licenses, and I am brand spanking new to these products. So far, I've added in the FTX compatible version of FS2010 Global Mesh as the base. Then FTX Global base. Then FTX Global Vector. The airfields are a little wonky, and I'm aware that FTX Vector is applying flattening meshes in an only partially successful attempt to correct elevation errors of runways that are slop…

  15. Hey guys! Well.... i've just about had it with MFSX . When I built a new computer mostly for FSX I installed windows 8 on it (I know.... bad move), and sure enough i was getting all kinds of joystick problems, so yes i tried FSUIPC registered, disabling this and that blah blah blah.. And recently i took part in the cross the pond westbound just yesterday, and right when i got my oceanic clearence... BAM! Fatal error! So i was sick of it and uninstalled windows 8 and installed windows 7. I just got FSX up and running, Installed FSUIPC, REX and applied all the tweaks, and now when i try to run.... "Flight simulator was unable to load some program files and will now exit. P…

With Steve Parson's kind permission I have included the Global lights patch into the shader patches collection. Fixes the FTX Global lights black rectangle background problem in DX10 preview. If you missed the scenery fixer, Steve has very kindly allowed the code to be added to shader patches collection v3.2.2 becoming v3.2.3. The file "shader_release_v3.2.3.zip" can be found in the Misc. section. Exactly the same as v3.2.2 but includes the Global Lights fix, default on. Regards Steve

I have bought Wilco Airbus Evolution which includes Prepar 3D. (Don't know what version it is) Reading through the manual it shows what looks to be its own programme menu's. Can it work on its own as a separate programme or only through FSX?. As all the files are there but no icon to open it separately.

I am getting my new PC next week (or so) and I will install Windows 8.1. Is there anything I have to know in order to get P3D working well? I also use TrackIR: afaik the latest official release is already W8 ready. But other than that I don't have a clue what to watch out for...

  20. The title says it all, I'm realising that heavy weather can make me lose almost half of my fps so I was wondering if there could be performance differences between all of the weather engines available for P3D? I'm currently using Opus simply because I don't have ActiveSky Next and I'm waiting for Weather Direct from REX.

  21. BAe146.... I have searched the forums and I am getting conflicting reviews on which version will work, some say Just Flight and others say QA. I already have the JustFlight for FSX and I read that while it did work with P3 at one time it is NOT compatible with it anymore so I am afraid to install it. Is the QA version better or are there also issues with this product too? Which product is compatible with P3dv2?

I started a thread a few days ago.. A locked thread... About blurries.. Turns out the blurries weren't blurries.. They were my stupidity.. I moved recently after my fathers passing.. My 40inch LED is a lot closer to me now, and slightly higher then where I was living before. In turn being closer and looking slightly "up" at the screen causes a perceived blurry texture look. If I stand up and pull back a bit the "blurries" are gone.. Anyway.. Being a humble person and one who doesn't mind throwing myself under a bus.. I'm falling on my sword to make up for my other thread. tl;dr: Blurries weren't blurry. Viewing distance + Viewing Angle + Screen size = …

I run a dual monitor setup where my VC is on one large display and panels and such are on a smaller display off to the side. All was fine and dandy in the FSX days. Then I got P3D and it was a complete stutter fest. Tried everything with no luck. Today I read that making sure your memory is running an XMP profile can help stuttering in games. Into the BIOS I went and I was already running XMP. But while I was poking around I saw "Multi GPU Configuration." Clicked enable, plugged my second monitor into the MB, started a flight and boom, no stutters. Was absolutely blown away. This isn't going to work for everyone but if your MB and CPU allows it, give it a go. Don't f…
