  1. Hi all, I think I know what seems to cause the problem with the PWR FAIL with RAZBAM Metroliner, at least in my case. It would be interesting to see if others have the same issue. When I freshly install the add-on, everything works fine. The moment I configure the aircraft.cfg file to work with FSCAPTAIN, I get the PWR FAIL problem. Restoring the original aircraft.cfg corrects the problem. Of course, my issue is how to get it to work with other add-ons (i.e FSCAPTAIN) if it requires modification of the aircraft.cfg. *sigh* and *sigh* again.

  2. Just as I thought I'd got P3D running beautifully... I'm getting a windows error window popping up every so often about error R6025 then P3D shuts. Searching around the web it appears to be a common occurance with some P3D and older FSX installs. It appears to be something to do with the Microsoft C++ libraries so as advised on other forums I've repaired my latest 2012 version but so far it hasn't totally got rid of the occasional message and P3D crash. Has anyone else here had this error and found a reliable solution? Adam

  3. I have installed in P3D 2.2 FTX Global, Vector and 3 North American Regions...In FTX Central, is it still necessary to select an Orbx Region if I'm in (or using) FTX Global? Thought I read someplace it was not necessary when using Global...thanks, John H.

What do you guys use as an ATC replacement? I've used default ATC on FSX and P3D forever now, and I'm ready to try something better. I've looked at VoxATC, Radar Contact, and PRO-ATC/x but I don't know what ATC replacement is best for P3D? What do you guys like the best?

  5. Hi all, I've been getting this error for the past few weeks (not due to any new addons) whenever the aircraft crashes into an object. In this situation, I believe it would normally open a menu asking what I want to do next, new flight, etc... but when clicking OK on this error, P3D crashes completely and quits. 7. My choice for ORBX products (where terrain allows...) is 2,800 ASL. I feel that that brings out the best level of RL for both P3D, as well as FSX, for maximum detail in all ORBX products..and still gives you a good depth-of-field, out to the horizon plane. Does anybody else have a preferred, and often 'go to' cruise VFR or VFR/IFR cruise altitude, and at what indicated knots? For knots, I prefer 120-130 knots. I fly mostly G.A flights and equipment, so these would be adequate speed and altitude parameters for cross-country navigation and sight-seeing. I'm sure that other users have their particulars preferences....let's hear from you..and why do you?

Dear Prepar 3D users: I've updated the RAAS Pro installer and its DLL.XML utility to support Prepar 3D Version 2 out of the box. However, I need someone who has only P3D V2 installed on their machine to do a final check. If you can assist, please contact me via the Contact Page on the FS2Crew website. http://www.fs2crew.com Thanks,

  10. Well, since having had P3D, I had not until yesterday tried to install both Accu-Feel v2.1 and GSX Ground Services (latest installer from website) Oh man...what I was missing! I'm right now in the Riva in-board motor boat slamming across some very active water...(the best dynamic display of water seen yet in P3D v.2.2!) and the sound is incredible as I hit the waves. Yes...HIT THE WAVES that are acting upon my hull and giving the sound of impact through Accu-Feel and moving the hull not merely up and down...but actually the true RL feel and view of a V-hull taking on the crests and swells. Man..this ALONE---------------> if I saw an FSX/P3D v2.2 side-by-side …

I've had P3D for about 3 weeks now, and I'm tremendously impressed with it so far! There are still a few things I'm trying to figure out. I'm having two main problems really. The first is that my FPS in the VC are way lower than on the external model. With VC shadows off completely the problem is still there. I took these 2 shots as a comparison to show what I mean. This is with every single plane by the way, not just the one in the picture. Any ideas on how to fix that? My second problem is that the scenery takes an extremely long time to load. I have FTX Global installed in P3D and FSX and I have never experienced blurry scenery in FSX. But it can ge…

  12. As I had went out and purchased a new drive just to host my P3D install....and had no intention of putting anything else upon it, I thought (thought it would be faster access, etc...) to install directly to the drive, which in this case was my F: drive. Well..since having P3D, there were a lot of times, that P3D would ramp up to 99 percent of the set-up travel mask...and then CTD. If I deleted the SHADER folder..I could on the next attempt get to the numbers. Well...Virtuali from GSX fame, told me yesterday in a thread (I was having his GSX installer crash out on me...) that that was a NO NO..and it would/could cause all sorts of install/running problems with soft…

I am wondering something. Flightbeam has a sale where if I get 2 or more products (in my case, KPHX, KIAD and KDEN. Total would be £65.31), I get a discount of 30% until July 7 (New total would be £45.72, nearly £20 off). I have plans to upgrade my PC (or a new PC depending on how you look at it) and these parts include the Motherboard, the CPU and the SSD but it will happen by the next few weeks (by that time, the sale will be gone) and will move to Prepar3Dv2 at the same time. What do I do in this situation? Can I purchase the airports now but not install it until I upgrade my PC and invest on Prepar3D? I am tight on budget now.

  14. Don't know if this is the place for them. These are FSEarthTiles.ini files for all the Sectionals of the continental US, along with their corresponding KML files. They are about 10 to 15GB each (not counting the working folders, which you delete when finished). https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jt5vd5aywq5un5z/AADA1knxSMsMU2gfEiFJ8832a But it is relevant here as I think there is a way through the P3D API to have different scenery load at different altitudes. Don't quote me on this, but I am a very stubborn too, so "if there is a will". I am considering getting a devs license for Prepar3d. Will that actually give me any extra help, maybe through forum access, that…

I ditched out of the "scene" at P3D v2 initial release.. I couldn't tolerate all the bugs.. I skipped P3D 2.1 and finally installed v2.2.. Couple things. The Windows 8 Jotystick disconnect is STILL not fixed? How is this possible through two point releases? Annoying having to spend my first 15 minutes installing and mapping my hardware to FSUIPC again. Second.. Am I crazy or is the blurries problem worse than it was with FSX now? I remember with v2 initial release the blurries were rare, and completely able to be controlled. Spare me the AffinityMask stuff. Been there.. Done it.. Know it like the back of my hand. Same with the Fiber Frame garbage.. The bl…

  17. I was wondering that with the introduction of DX11, new terrain engines, and words like 'tesselation', how excited scenery developers are about this. Beyond all the bogus/breached video babble, I don't recall reading anything in these threads saying what is now possible beyond what we have become accustomed to with a premier Orbx creation? My point being, if I'm flying into Darrington Muni, WA in 6 months time with a P3DV2 toolkit extreme makeover, what can I expect to find different in the detail when I land? What could I expect different at 6000' in scenery features which is not possible with FSX (autogen , lighting, shadowing aside). I understand most of t…

Cloud shadows impact on fps is nothing compared to this. Is this also your experience ? As it is now the feature is useless. Any hope in 2.3 ?

  20. FSX is now in the HISTORY BOOKS of flightsim( at least in my books) I am very impressed by P3D and the LM developers. My testing so far has been on my old PC with an Win8.1 - i7920 3GHz - GTX570 system. It is butter smooth and solid, no issuses at all Later today I will fire it up on my Win8.1 - i72600K - 4.5GHz GTX780 system and it is going to be just better. Just wanted to make sure that FSX is now history in the flightsim evolution. Is anyone going back to FSX now after 2 days with P3Dv2? Please explain.

I have this aircraft for both FSX and P3d. The FSX version goes straight during takeoff. The P3d wants to pull to the right or left during takeoff. Very hard to control. I checked the calibration and it looks right. I have the latest version of FSUIPC, Saitek drivers, and GOFlight drivers. Since I don't have this problem with FSX. It has to be something with P3d. Can someone tell me what I'm missing? Thanks to all who reply. Bill

....add the Tiger Moth bi-plane...and oh my....is this a fantastic purchase for P3D! Beautifully detailed scenery surrounding the airport...and I'd have to say, it is one of the finest add on's...in that you have valley, river, mountains, very detailed human habitation, etc...and all less than 2 miles from the airport overlooking the bluff. A very satisfying purchase, indeed! I'd recommend this to anyone flying P3D! Back to it.... I also put South Alaska today into P3D..but that will be later on tonight.... ^_^ Post Edit: OMG!
