Hi all, I am planning to get OpenLC Europe but I am wondering what is its VAS footprint. I fly to London often and don't want to stress the already VAS intensive region with another VAS intensive addon. Thanks!

So I abandoned FSX because I got tired of having to wrestle with it EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT. With the ability to transfer my addons over with the migration tool I made the leap and I was happy for the most part. I am currently just trying to find the sweet spot. In some locations I get 30+ FPS with most everything maxed and World of AI traffic armed with 40% and 10% car traffic. In other locations not so much. This is a screen cap sitting at KDFW in Dallas (FSDreamTeam version) with performance graphics overlaid. Can someone explain to me WHY for the love of all that is Holy I am getting 18 FPS when the GPU and CPU are twiddling their thumbs according to the perf…

Hi everyone Would I be correct in saying that we need to wait for an updated FS Estonia Migration Tool before we can start adding sceneries/aircraft etc etc .... Cheers Paul

Hi all- Is FSUIPC required for 2.3, or just certain addons? Did a fresh 2.3 install last night and removed the contents of the Modules folder prior to doing so. Did a short hop around HI this morning and everything seemed to be working pretty good. Thanks, Mark

Ok, so I have a PNY nVidia GTX 680 with 3GB I'm looking to maybe update for future games and P3D. But my budget is not $500. Not at this time. What is a good card that has significant performance that costs oh...$250 at most? Or is the 780 just a massive jump compared to anything else?

Hi all- Is FSUIPC required for P3D 2.3, or just certain addons? If so, what version? I did a complete 2.3 install (from 2.2) last night and removed all the contents of the Module folder prior to doing so. I did a short hop around HI this morning and didn't seem to have the crash problem described here that some people seem to being experiencing regarding an updated FSUIPC. I haven't reinstalled it. Thanks, Mark

Hi guys, I want to use Prepar3d without any tools or tricks in cgf. I said it's better to start now with new version of Prepar3D 2.3. Of course i start with Windows 8.1 and after i install the prepar3d, FTX (Global, Vector, LC) and FSUIPC 4.934f. Everything is awesome. For me the biggest difference is the smoothness. Ok. Next i install my favorites plane MJC Dash Q400 and C172 from A2A. Unfortunately i have problems with both. I have no gears and power with MJC and with C172 i can start the engine. I try to install others plane like C90 King Air and SRT22 and everything is ok. For ASN i wait for new version compatible with Prepar3D 2.3 but with MJC i'm frustrate…

While testing P3Dv2.3 today, I came across an airport that puzzled me a bit. Honolulu airport PHHI. The terrain it's on isnt level and on one side the airport is at even height with the rest of the scenery and on the other side it's elevated. As I tell it it sounds like this is how it's supposed to, but the vertical textures on the elevated side look like those from airports that are faulty elevated and I'm not sure how to interpret these textures... Can someone confirm if this is the way it's supposed to be, or if this is a faulty elevation that needs correction?

Well, I did away with NI, as I saw a post where others did the same. I see no difference whatsoever, What this means to me is that the developers really know their stuff. Using ORBX PNW flying around KSEA, it is really smooth. A few little micro stutters but not near what I saw in 2.2. Default plane at this time but my testing has just started. Using shadow casting High, clouds with buildings casting and receiving, along with user plane inside and out. Cloud distance 100 mi. Water medium, building and autogen very dense. NO HDR...yet. So far so good. The clouds look nice. The night lighting is perfect. No cfg changes whatsoever at this time. I did finally do a comple…

As a quick test of 2.3 I tried switching to the Mooney Acclaim. Shortly after loading I get a CTD. The older Mooney loaded ok.

Ok I tried patch worked fine - new beta fsiupc installed - uninstalled payware airports and ASN - addon manager missing will have to re-tie them in with manual edits The plan was to check it out and then I will do a new install fresh not a patch as I dont believe in them - rex was left - global and vector left all worked out of the box 2.3 rocks a carenado I would normally get about 45 fps is now hitting 65-75 ish heavy clouds with shadows and reflections But here is what I have noticed that is a major difference with NI I was getting stutters pretty bad so I disabled NI and heres the the big one - you need to turn down your p3d graphics menu settings as th…

Hi, I want to try P3D again now 2.3 is out. I have got a new PC and on the SSD for FSX I only have FTX Global, vector and Euro LC. Only two aircraft PMDG NGX and 777. Using ASN and REX4. Now….. I only want (until PMDG works with P3D) P3D for GA flying. So no Global etc. I will use Orbx full fat UK and NCA. What will happen with FTX Centre, will I get two versions ? What GA aircraft are made to work perfect with P3D? Does the new A2A work as a native aircraft? Does Eye tracker work or does it need guide to make it work? Same with EZdoc? Are you using the REX4 DX11 settings? Does ASN work now. The Q400 was really light on FPS in FS…

I asking why? Why when I set "off" terrain shadow (because when set "on" I have artefacts - tlicker triangles) why do I turn off shadows in the cockpit? I don't understand ! on the shadows of the cockpit is self setting (internal vehicle- Cast/Receive) . Suddenly already in version 2.3 does not work - off terrain shadow=off cockpit shadow ... unbelievable

After reading some of the posts regarding the patch and issues with installation, I was expecting myself to be in for a very long night of headaches. Thus, not is the case much to my surprise. After following Rob's install guide, all is well. Thanks Rob for all your help and dedication! Only issues I had with installation is that I had to manually add back my Orbx sceneries for the library. Once added, all working. Well, so far my 1st impressions are nothing but wow!! The performance is incredible, even on my humble PC I have never experienced smooth performance as this. The feel of the clouds with the volumetric effect is much more immersive and real. Gr…

So, while I have a decent processor... my video card is a 660 and that's really not that powerful a card these days. So I went and did a wee bit of flying in P3D v2.3... to see how things would behave. I'm impressed. It's not perfect, nor would I expect it to be with my video card. However, it looks better than I expected it to. Here's a short video... watch it in 1080p.

I was an early adopter of P3D v2, but ended up going back to FSX for various reasons (blurry terrain textures, stutters, and so on) and finally decided to give it a shot again after 2.3's release. I should probably also mention that since I last tried P3D2 v2, I did upgrade from a GTX 680 to a GTX 780 Ti, which I'm sure is part of the experience.. but anyway, I was really blown away by how good 2.3 looks, and how smoothly (stutter-free... totally) it run. I finally feel like moving away from FSX for good. I'm running most sliders "to the right", except a few odds and ends like leaving water reflections to sky and play aircraft, leaving road/boat/ship/ferry traffic off…

I need to do a complete rebuild of FSX (reason is that I have to add Acceleration to my current SP2 in order to get one and possible two aircraft to work properly). Given that I am about to go through all of this work to reinstall I was thinking of perhaps switching from my current scenery setup (FSGenesis Mesh, UTX, Cloud 9 Land class and GEX) to a complete ORBX setup - Global Mesh, ORBX Global textures, Vector and LC. I have read about all kinds of issues (trees in runways, plateaus, etc), and I wonder if making this change is wise or potentially a disaster ? Perhaps I just need to wait until the product matures a bit more before taking the plunge. BTW, it is not…
