Should I uninstall P3D from my current system beforehand? Thanks' Mike

According to the recently published Navigraph FlightSim Community Survey (2024), only 1.9% of respondants (around 23,000 answers) reported that they (still) use Prepar3D (all versions) as their primary flight sim software. The figure was 4.6% in the 2023 survey. Does it suggest that P3D is almost an end of life sim, at least on the non-military side? Are there any other statistics you know that could contradict this disappointing current state? Regards Hervé

I'm having trouble re the above. Example I downloaded FC Scenery France to my external hard drive, then using winrar started to extract the files, we get to part 17rar, then the an.agn files start extracting, this is the problem they never stop I'm showing 01300000313230an.agn and still going now for 22 and a half hours, which seems a little excessive. The green bottom line of winrar states 100% processed, but winrar will not close. I do not wont to canx the process, any help would be greatly appreciated. Robert

Hi All... I recently purchased FC Scenery for my P3dv5.4. Got the link and downloaded the 7 .rar files for Colorado. Opened Winrar to Extract the files, and was hit with ERROR: 0x8096002a I've sent an inquiry to FC Scenery,but haven't heard from them in over a week. Has anybody had this problem before?? I've researched this on Google and it certainly has been talked about, but no one has ever come up with a solution. It seems that for a long time now (not sure how long really) I've noticed that when I land in P3dv5.4, there are no longer any tire smoke effects. I've tried looking in the config and I see no real setting for this kind of effect. I used to have it in the past, but no longer. I tried deleting my old config and building a new one. I have the very latest Nvidia video drivers, and everything is up to date. Have any of you ever had this issue and solved it?

Hi, I'm trying to study the Dash 8 systems, but I can't find any online resources that explain the usage criteria for the RDC TOP. I understand it's used in situations with ample margins to preserve the engines, that each press reduces torque by 2%, and it can go up to a maximum of 80%. Are there no reference tables explaining how to know whether and how much to use it? Thanks! Daniele

Just wondering why there have been no more updates for V6? 1. Security issue? 2. They have given up on it? 3. There will be a last update just before V7 is released ? ( just like with V5) I have no idea just wondering......

I have to sceneries that have default buildings in them. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to remove them? I would like to learn how to do it so I don't have to keep asking for help. One scenery is a P3D v4 freeware scenery for Chesapeake Regional Airport (found here in the avsim library) and the other is a payware scenery for Jauja Peru (SPJJ) made by Andes Simulations. The title at Simmarket said it was for P3Dv3 to P3Dv5, but the requirements only said P3Dv3. I took a chance and bought the scenery.

In the Turn Coordinator, specially during taxiing, but also inflight? I see the ball displacement opposite what Physics say it should be? Is this a BUG / limitation or is it something actually rather "realistic" about the real Concorde that I wasn't aware of (wouldn't be the first time ...)? I use the PMDG 777 and 737 on p3d v4.5. Everything was fine. Ran smoothly. But recently I downloaded FSlabs a32x. I tested it out and decided it's not for me. So uninstalled it. After this I noticed that whenever I fly the pmdg aircrafts, they lag and stutter like crazy. I get 20 fps max. Also when the aircraft is in Cold and dark, fps is 40 average in vc. But when I start the aircraft, after irs alignment and initial fmc setup and flighplan inputs, it start stuttering and lagging. Fps drops to 20. How can I fix this?

Big PC crash. P3Dv4.5 as well as my back-up drive are gone. Nothing to retrieve, except from such special companies, for a lot of money. So, I have to start over. My question now: go I again with 4.5 or switch to 5.3 Tks for advice Peter

I only have one scenery for Chile (LatinVFR Santiago). I want to get more scenery from Chile so I can fly within the country. Does anyone have FlightSimDesign Chile scenery? How are they? They don't have many screenshots of the scenery (only 4 for each airport) so it's hard the judge the quality. Any recommendations from other South American sceneries? I have a lot of scenery from Columbia and some from Brazil, but not much from other South American countries.

Hello Everyone I am 75 years old and not very technical. I am looking to add an SSD 6TG to transfer all my add ons : OBX, FlyTampa Fc Sceneries to instead of having everything my c drive. The problem is that I do not know how to do it. Many charitable persons have given me in passing some advise like Lorbi organiser or “ I have around 9tb of SSD space. Gradually added 2tb m.2 sticks and installed my addons there.. But to me , unfortunately, it means nothing. Is there a place where I could find a step by step way to do it in layman’s term? Okay folks--I'm baffled by something that has happened overnight seemingly out of the blue to my (special needs) son's P3d regarding the default startup views regardless of the airplane selected (global issue): When the scenario starts up to the default virtual cockpit, the zoom level is way too close to the panel--almost as if 90% of the view is looking out front of the Captain's window. When you try to adjust the zoom level by the usual mouse thumbwheel, it has virtually no limit and you look like you are looking through a fisheye lens from the cockpit entry door. Hi all, Running P3D v5.4 - basically I get bad stutters at FSDT KLAX. Have tried reducing sliders etc. but doesn't help a lot. I note that if I disable GSX, stutters are gone. Of course, this gets rid of the jetways. Does anyone else see experience this? Cheers, Rudy

Today I have been on my PD3v4 to do a flight using the B737-800 with the default panel but for some reason the radio stck is blenk in the 2D and 3D panels I have searched everywher but cant find a fix, any help would be apprciated. Thanks

Over the last week I’ve been helping a fellow FS Labs Concorde owner resolve the bad stutters his new powerful computer was experiencing. Despite reducing all Scenery settings to the lowest level they still persisted. He mirrored all my settings too. By a process of elimination we eventually reached the conclusion that the problem must lie with v5.4 since I didn’t experience these problems on my slightly less powerful machine despite running in 4K and with up to 200 Ai in the sim compared to his 1920*1080 with none. After he uninstalled v5.4 and installed v5.3HF2 the stutters ceased. LM have made significant changes to v5.4 involving how AIG Ai flight plans…

Thinking of purchasing this 4GB scenery for P3D 5.3 - Wondering if anyone has experience with it? It was released in 2023. Current version is v1.1. There are no reviews showing for it on SimMarket. TIA!
