I just downloaded vector for V4. With VAS no longer an issue, which settings impact performance the most? As expected, I took a bit of a performance hit compared to UTX and I'm trying to figure out which settings are my best bet to regain some of the lost FPS.

Hello boys and girls, How do you convert these settings into P3Dv4 settings? Do I have to manually change value into CFG? Setting, Value, Why? Level of detail radius, Large, Reduces blurring of textures. Global texture resolution, Max, Displays photoreal textures best. Mesh complexity, 100, Better terrain definition.

I assume that many people have now made the jump to P3D v4 and enjoying all its 64-bit goodness. I'm also assuming that many people use TrackIR. My question to those people is: how do you control the camera in external view? For FSX and up to P3D3, I use a utility called JAB_FSX.exe which automatically disables TrackIR when you switch to external views. This enables you to control the external camera with keyboard keys or joystick hat, instead of the camera swinging about wildly with your head movements. (Most flight sims do this natively, like X-Plane, Aerofly, DCS World, even FS9, but not FSX or P3D) Unfortunately JAB_FSX is 32-bit and the author has stopped suppo…

Heads up that Drzewiecki Design is releasing new, vastly improved NY airports next week. See the link for screenshots. I dare say this is the best versions of EWR, JFK and LGA we've ever had. Yes there will be a P3Dv4 version but I don't know if it follows the new SDK or if it will have dynamic lighting (go ask at his forum). And for those curious, this version of LGA looks different than the latest ImagineSim version because DD based his design on the approved Port Authority of NY/NJ plans for the new LGA build out. Hello. I have had some elevation issues lately in some airports, namely airports icluded in the Orbx NA airport pack. I tried to run the elevation autoconfig and it fails. See picture below. Please help me. Razz FSX SE

Hello, Has anyone else noticed there is lower fps in the VC (PMDG in particular) in V4 with the latest windows 10 update (creator? ) I've completely removed the xbox dvr thing via the regedit so I don't think it's that but something else.. Alex

Hi all, I'm not seeing the better looking snow in my P3Dv4. I just did a complete uninstall/reinstall. Everyone seems to be seeing this type of snow in the first shot, whereas I'm seeing the slushy stuff as in the second. Any help appreciated! Rob

So, what is the situation with the Quality Wings BAe 146 in P3D4? It works fine in P3D v3.3.5 for my taxi/take off/circuit/landing/taxi flights at major airports, but then this does not require use of some of the more complex systems and features. Does it even install and run at all in P3D4?

Hello, Can someone give me some advice on Ezdok 2.0? The cockpit shake and movement seems to be really good, but in wing view, no matter if it's clear blue skies and 0 mph wind, the wing view shakes extremely violently. Is there a way to turn down the wing view movement? Like I said, the cockpit movement is fine.. Thank you for any help

I've been trying UTLive on P3D34 for a while and think that it is a viable and similar replacement of UTII. Please don't cry if you install this and see frames in the 10's (any platform) at SFO. Best fix is to hit Ctrl+Shift+- to cut the traffic by quite a bit 4 or 5 of those gets you back a substantial boost in FPS. For this reason I would like a setting to limit the number of planes at any one time regardless of location. Cheers bs

IS it an issue with P3Dv4 or my system that I do not get a sound when at OM, MM and IM (OMI) sound? Could someone please confirm that you hear these sounds in P3Dv4 and the issue is just my system.

Is it just on my system, or is the autopilot in the F-35 broken in v4? I can't change any settings, I click on anything (altitude hold for example) and it sets to zero. Then if I click away, it goes back to a default setting. I can't put it up or down.

So I'm finally getting back in to P3D now that the NGX is out. I ran two short flights for as a test between JFK and IAD without issue. I'm now trying JFK to ATL to do something a little longer and I got a crash just before crossing EMI. It seems to be repeatable at this point as this is my third time giving this a go. I thought it was EZCA but I uninstalled it. The only addons I'm running is the NGX, AS16 & ASCA and GSX. Any idea how I can track this down? Hi everyone! This weekend my son is installing a new SDD to my computer. I plan to download V4 very soon. But I don't have the slightest clue how to get some FSX stuff that I have moved over or downloaded again. Please give me some suggestions: Orbx Global, vector, landclass, regions? A2A aircraft? Carenado and Alebeo? Flight 1 King Air and GTN750? FSUIPC? AS16? Rex? Milviz? FlyTampa, FSDT, and other airports? Etc, etc... Do I need to go to each website and get instructions? I am almost computer illiterate, i dont know where to start, and old age is getting to me. Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks for reading!

Hi Folks. Can anybody help please with the problem I'm having with the iFly 737. I am using P3D with WIN7 and my graphics card is NVDIA GTX 1070. After flying the iFly B738 for about an hour, I get a double bong warning sound from my computer, then after 15-20 mins of this I get the 'out of virtual memory mesaage and computer crash. The thing is I do not get this problem when flying any other of my jets i.e. aerosoft Airbus or the Quality wings B757. Only the iFly. I do have a recorded .wav file of the bonging noise I'm getting, but can't see how to attach a .wav file here to this post. Hope someone knows the remedy to my problem. Thank …

Hello Guys, I have read tons of topics about stutters, tried to implement solutions into my sim, but it didn't work... That's why I decided to open new topic, because my "stutters" problem is kinda different I suppose. Problem: My problem are stutters, which appear after 4-5 hours of the flight. Taxi, take off and first phase of flight is smooth, but after few hours (can't say excatly when, because meanwhile I am sleeping or doing other things) I am getting micro stutters (freezes every 3 seconds I think). Hello, Since I don't use the comprehensive controllers (merely Logitech Sidewinder instead), I guess that I won't need FSUIPC for PMDG/ORBX/FSLABS/ASN and other stuff. Please clear my concerns.

Waiting also for Lockheed Martin to fix the YEARS and YEARS old fault (originally FSX) with the problem of the Autopilot and GPS / FMS not functioning properly. If these bugs were fixed by LM in P3D then 3rd party aircraft developers would release better functioning aircraft and would not have to resort to trying to make workarounds that they're not really capable of. aero

Getting ready to get started on my install, working on downloading the many updates as we speak... What's the best method to move from v3 to v4? Should I completely un-install and start over? Can stuff be moved? As with many simmers, I can't say I'm excited about an un-install, re-install... ugh time consuming!

I installed pmdg 737 ngx for p3d v4 and activated without activation code request, but now it does not recognize the activation code on p3d v3. Because? What is the solution? Giancarlo Pascalis

So I'm finally taking the time to get all my v4 addons sorted out now that the NGX is released. Had 2 flights last night with no issues. Today I decide to load up EZCA v2.5 beta to get some camera controls back. However after installing now my P3D won't start. Worst part is, I can't seem to remove it from my sim either... I've tried removing the entry from the exe.xml with no change :( Any ideas what may have gone wrong?
