I use to spend more time trying to figure out how not to get an 00M on a given route with a given plane. I even created a database to track the different settings so I could drive data decisions. Now I spend most of my time flying. I forgot how much fun that is. Thanks to P3D V4!

I have a similar problem and I have three times completely uninstalled using the P3D Uninstall document and have reinstalled three times and P3D v4 will not even load. Now I need to explain some background - the first time I installed P3D v4 everything worked perfectly. I used it for a couple days and thought I would like to try adding in one of my favorite 3rd party airports - well that was a dumb thing to do because after that P3D would not load. Hi guys, I am new to Prepar3D so I appreciate your patience! I was wondering if there is a way to poll joystick switch positions in Prepar3d automatically? I have tried with Bodnar boards and GoFlight modules and I find it a bit annoying that you have to toggle them for Prepar3d to work out their positions. In Xplane I found it trivial to write a lua script to read the switch position and write the data directly of the position and have it looping, but I havent been able to work the lua scripting out in Prepar3d. I have tried LINDA and I don't seem to have worked out fully how to manipulate "offsets". I appreciate any advice you can offer me! Thanks, Ben

Opened up FTX Central and noticed a bunch of airports had popped up in each category. Looks like it's all their freeware stuff.

I'm running P3D v3.4. Today I bought TropicalSim's MDPC and added an entry to scenery.cfg as advised. Loaded up P3D and positioned Concorde (a heavy) at a heavy gate. I then brought up the GSX menu but the gate entries bore no resemblance to the actual gates. On further investigation I found that GSX is using the MyTraffic BGL for this airport, not the supplied AFCAD. I ran Simple Airport Scanner (SAS) by ScruffyDuck but it reported no duplicate. Why not? I then realised MyTraffic doesn't have an entry in scenery.cfg. It's now treated as an addon and is loaded by a separate process. So how can SAS detect duplicate AFCADs because this surely is the problem? …

Are there any recommended Realism Settings for P3DV4?

I don't know about you all but when I start p3dv4 it always defaults to the inside of the vc I would like to set it up to default to spot view. Is there anyway to do this? How?

I have had FSX since the very beginning and am researching the possibilities of trying to install P3D4 also. I have a 465 GB SSD drive with FSX installed on it and have 186 GB of free space on the drive. Can I install P3D4, which doesn't require very much of this space, on this drive as a separate entry? Is it also possible to use the scenery, installed in FSX, in P3D by writing a shortcut in P3D to reference it or would I just have to copy it all into P3D? I am getting a little old and slow and would appreciate any thoughts as to how I should proceed. Thanks in advance. Tom

For those of you that use Chaseplane, what do you set the advanced motion effects to in order to make it feel a bit more realistic (anticipation, follow horizon, etc.) for an airliner such as the A320 and 777? I'm curious what people use to make a more realistic immersion factor when flying and ground handling. Thanks

Hi everyone, I purchased NA regions(PNW,NoCal,Socal) during the sale last month but haven't try it out until today. Using NoCal and Socal with Flightbeam KSFO and FSDT KLAX with default F22 I get very bad framerates, under 20FPS with lots of stutter. I already disable every option under FTX Central control panel for those 2 regions. Disable the regions in scenery library and my FPS goes up to ~40-50 and very smooth. I didn't expect the regions to be framerate killer, wonder if anybody having the same issue with me? I only test during daytime. Thank you, Hoang Le

Hello. I just installed a new 1080 FTW in to my PC. I am getting overall the best performance I have ever experienced. I have one issue I want to see if anyone here has a solution. I notice a small stutter that is only slightly bothersome coming for the CA side window when taxing/T/O and landing. Is there a way to stop that. Looking forward No Stuttering. This happens on my PMDG TFDI products. Looking to add Matt Davies PTA and AS16 with ASCA next. Thanks for the help Randy Smith

Hello, Maybe someone can help me. This always seems to happen to me. I was doing a flight from KMSP to KDEN, and everyone knows that KMSP is a very very busy airport with tons of gates. The runways always get SO congested, I literally gave up on the flight after like 40 minutes. There was like 15 aircraft waiting to takeoff all at once, and then 5 aircraft landing, all at once. This is so terrible, in real life, it seems to go very smooth without hiccup. Is this just because P3D has terrible ATC? My Traffic is set at 40% with UT. Can someone give me some advice would be greatly appreciated

As stated in the title, the long time Maule has always had this white blur effect in the propeller. It's a really good plane, but I can't fly it because of the irritation to my eyes. I saw a YT video that didn't have it and was wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of it, or if there might be a replacement file on the internet?

Today I started getting messages at v4 start up stating that various add-on sceneries were installed but not activated (would I like to activate the scenery). The sceneries being referred to were obviously from the old P3D v3 installation which was uninstalled completely prior to installing v4. In fact, I formatted the drive prior to installing v4. The only thing I can think of is that my v3 is still in my Roaming/Lockheed directory and v4 is picking something up. Anyway, this indicates something is amiss. What would you suggest? I'm not too far along for a complete uninstall and reinstall of v4 but I'd do that as a last resort.

I'm currently fighting with a new issue for me. My P3D v4 was working great until then. I have the "Prepar3D Scenario" screen to show at every startup. If I click "Load..." I immediately receive "Are you sure you want to exit Prepar3D ?" YES/NO pop-up. If I reply YES, Prepar3D crashes to desktop. If I click "NO", Prepar3D loads with the "Prepar3D Scenario" window still on top of the regular Prepar3D progress bar and main window. Inside Prepar3D, if I choose from the menu SCENARIO, then LOAD, P3D hangs and crash-to-desktop. Apparently this was in 3 as well? Anyway, setting location as tower controller with maxed out scenery and loads of real ai is great fun. Used chase plane to move around with an xbox controller. Then decided to try VR. WOW! loads of fun! Put my rift on and was walking around the tower looking out of the windows and watching everything coming and going and taxying around. Was great to actually be able to walk around the room and look out of the windows and see the screens and chairs etc. Some of the radar displays are even interactive and show live traffic! My sim has become a plane spotter sim now! Chris

Hi, Is it worth it to move from the old Ultimate to the new Next Generation? I only fly airliners and mainly at NA. What is the advantages of the new NG version compare to the old one? I have FreeMeshX but I haven't tried it yet. Thank you, Hoang Le

Evening all, Having asked over at the LM forums, I have come up a cropper with this issue. Basically, I can't save general settings (pause on task switch) and axis controls (x55 throttle wants to be a joystick) Has anyone had this issue and managed to fix it? I am running the current hotfix1 build. TIA

Hello, Since installing P3Dv4 I am having an issue where the simulator stops and a box pops up that says "Loading Terrain Data" this takes about 30 seconds or so. Then it will go back to flying. I have reduced the texture settings and draw distances, deleted the Shader Cache. CPU, GPU and Memory all looks okay. Disk IO seems okay but that can be a rabbit hole as well. Not sure what else to do but never saw this in V3. Let me know if there is other information that would be helpful or if there is a log location that may point to what is going on. Hi, I was wondering about the actual process P3D uses to load photoscenery. Typically I have CA, AZ, NV and WA checked. The size of those states exceeds (or close to exceeding) my physical memory. What's occurring as I'm waiting to load? Does P3D know where I've placed my AC and is loading that region/state? Are the states writing to the pagefile? Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Mark
