I'm contemplating upgrading my Saitek Pro Yoke & throttle quadrants to a PFC Cirrus Saab yoke with their throttle quadrants. Whilst there are many gains there is one significant drawback. The PFC doesn't have a POV hat. I've searched for any type of hardware that might include a POV hat but is not a joystick. The only possibility is a Logitech G13 keypad but the joystick doesn't look very good and it's expensive. Could EzDok provide an alternative with customised views? I would like to assign a left/right and up/down action to 4 buttons emulating the POV action. Never used EzDok but it does seem a popular utility.

Before I begin, I'm a longtime FSX user, I run it full graphics settings with DX10 fixer and have an amazing 40-50FPS under most setting @ hifi airports, PMDG aircraft, Rex TD weather. I run a 4790 @ 5.0 ghz, Two 1080 GTX's. Now on to Prepar3d V4. Yes I know its time to move up to 64 bit. People swear by Prepar3d V4 like its this absolutely beautiful program with flawless performance. Ok, on basic settings, I can not even get Vsync to work. No .cfg tweaks, no NVI profile...can not get FPS more than 7-23 FPS with HD lighting turned off, shadows turned off, 4MSAA, modest terrain settings, and this is bar-bones. I set Vsync to on and the screen is tearing all over the place.…

I have just received the new AMD Threadripper and getting the motherboard tonight and looking to put it in over the weekend, and am trying to see which games will utilize all cores Now I know p3d will use all cores but you need to set it up with Affinity Mask maybe? Not sure If so can someone tell what I should set the Affinity mask value to All the calculators I have found only go up to 8 cores so.... Any help is greatly appreciated :)

My system's configurations are: PMDG 777 P3Dv4(1.10.8414, Newest) + Active Sky for P3Dv4(Newest) + P3Dv4 Professional Plus(4.0.23.21468 / Client: 4.0.23.21686) Like I mentioned in the title, the weather radar reacts too slow! Is there any option to handle this or idea? Is it due to my low frame rates(20~50 frame)?

(which folder do I place them in P3D) or If anybody can point me in the direction of a good tutorial for AI traffic. I'm struggling to find good information on how I can get AI traffic into my P3Dv4 world. Having purchased several FSP AI aircraft from Sim market. I've installed these along with several Liveries into P3Dv4, but I'm not quite sure how to get these aircraft working. Hi there guys, My name is Mark and I am having some troubles in P3D V4. I bought a 1080p tv to run P3D at 30hz because that worked for my old system in the past. However even now, my FPS are all over the place it seems like and I'm not sure what is going on. I am taking off with the PMDG 747-400 V3 at KSFO FB with medium settings. I have a 7700k OC to 4.8ghz with a 1080 at 2.0ghz Temps are never above 60c or so. I run Windows 10 on a 250gb SSD and P3D on a bigger samsung 500gb SSD When I go to takeoff it seems smooth then I get a stutter and takeoff and blurries etc. I'm thinking about doing a fresh windows 10 install just to start …

I'm pretty sure many V4 users are being affected by this in some way or the other especially when using Dynamic Lighting. The thing is....i'm not using DL & every time I switch on Landing, Taxi or even RWY Turnoff lights i'm getting hammered by fps...UNBELIEVABLE man! Every flight I did fps went to hell & been pulling my hair out as to why this was happening especially on APP/FINAL (where lights would usually go on). It's only when I put 2+2 together said wait a min, could ext lights be affecting fps even tho DL was unchecked? In P3D I have both FXAA & AA set to OFF & None as i have an ASUS 4K Monitor. I have yet to move to v4, waiting for LM next hotfix/4.1 so FSL can release the A320. I don't have or ever had OOM's and v3.4 with everything installed looks and runs very well to the point I ask myself do I need v4? For me, texture loading and seeing crisp textures is really important. I only run 1920 x 1080 on a GTX 1070. Orbx OLC USA/Euro -Globle vector, every addon airport under the sun. (large) So I am asking apart from 64 bit what do you guys find is better than 3.4? Thanks for your thoughts.

OK, I'm about to install v4 and I am looking at a complete rejig of drives and OS to Win10. So, my question is, with three separate drives, which install scenario would be best:- 1) 1st SSD installed with Win 10 + 2nd SSD installed with P3d+sceneries & addons 2) 1st SSD both with Win 10 and with P3D installed + 2nd SSD installed with sceneries & addons 3) 1st SSD with Win 10 + 2nd SSD with P3d + 3rd Sata HD installed with sceneries & addons I'm interested in anyone with ideas on this. I found some inconsistent reports regarding this. So any explanations and reports from P3D users who changed from a HD to a 4K Monitor / TV are very welcome. I'm trying to decide on a new monitor setup for P3D. I almost ruled out a triple monitor setup due to the distortion of one stretched window and the performance hit of three separate windows. So I am looking at 4k TV now. What I want to achieve is to have a larger field of view in the cockpit without having to decrease the zoom factor too much. On a 1920 x 1080 TV I have to set the zoom factor in the sim to something like 0.5 to be able to see the windshield and the instruments in one view. With a z…

I purchased LOWI at the current sale but I cannot download it via FTX central. I have downloaded other ORBX products without problems. The LOWI product is listed in my account. I have contacted ORBX forums but have not yet received a reply. Any help appreciated. Ron

I am trying to figure out what is the difference between the two add-ons.cfg's? There is one in the Program Data folder and another in the User/name/AppData/Roaming folder. The one in the Program Data folder has mostly stuff from FSDT and their addon manager and stuff from Flightbeam (except for MSP) along with Imaginesim's KATL. The one in the roaming cfg has LatinVFR scenery, Flightbeam's MSP (due to their new FB Manager), UK2000 scenery and DD's scenery. I am trying to figure out why some go in one cfg and some in the other? So confused by it.

I don't think anyone would argue that Aerosoft has absolutely dragged its heels in adapting its add-ons for the various iterations of P3D, compared with any other major developer. My sky has a very light blue color, is there any settings that i could change to make it get a darker blue color?

When I look to the horizon, there are tiles that are not loaded, but load as I get closer. This occurred in win 7 64 and now win 10. Is this an autogen bug that needs to be addressed by LM or do I need a more powerful gpu than my gtx 970?

FTX Central v3.2.2.5 fixes some problems for those using the Fastlane procedure which installs the Orbx_ObjectFlow_x64.dll Beta module that allows installation on P3D v4 of Orbx products not updated to v4.

I'm trying to figure out a little bit of a mystery.. i have some older aircraft that i wanted to test in p3dv4.. so i installed to p3dv3.. captured the folders and made folders for each aircraft.. some i can get to show up in the sim, others i cant. I've tried the adding an xml to my docs method.. then i did the command line option where i put the xml directly in the respective aircraft root folder and reference like "simobjects\Airplanes" etc.. Out of 5.. only 2 show up.. one is for the realair duke, which a guide online shows working (the legacy v2 i did get to show up).. same deal on a few older carenado craft.. some show others dont.. i thought maybe it was …

Hello, I'm beginning with P3Dv4, after years with FSX. I find a striking difference in lighting and contrast between FSX and P3D, see attached pictures. These pictures were taken at the same location (YPMQ), orientation, time and day, with the A2A Comanche, one of my favorite planes, with same zoom factor. I find that P3D display is much too bright and somewhat hazy, there is a lack of contrast which removes details from the grass and sky, and so on. In addition, the default GPS display is unreadable because the digits are too bright (ok, not much better in FSX, but i expected some improvement).
