I may or may not have an issue with my setup on p3dv4. I decided to turn off FTXSCA/NCA for this test.. i also have UTX installed.. typically i turn off the "custom landclass" 3 options.. but for this test.. in one image i have OPenLC off and UTX fully on to show the landclasses that show up. When i turn UTX completely off, to truely see what OpenLC is doing.. i feel like there are many "city" landclass structures missing based on the UTX shot. Getting the "this app can't run on your PC" error when trying to install.

As I was trudging along updating and installing into P3Dv4 I found that there is a new installer for LatinVFR KMIA Miami v3.1. This is the first one of theirs that I have seen updated.

Hi, ORBX website indicates that the Northern California region is required for the ORBX Lake Tahoe Airport Add-On. That's no problem as I own it. BUT....when you go to the individual page for Lake Tahoe, it lists compatibility with P3D versions up to V3. I have the latest Object Flow, I was wondering if I can still purchase this airport while the sale is on, or is the web site correct and it still isn't cleared to work w/ P3D V4.... I am trying to run the installer for Rex TD Enhanced and get the following error: "source file not found: c:\users\brad\desktop\rextd1.cab verify that file exists and that you can access it". I'm not sure what this is and how to correct it. I had TD on V3 and haven't messed with the settings outside of PTA. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

What should I uncheck in the PTA tool for V3 to receive fewer stutters in certain areas? I've heard the tool can cause this. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Is FlyTampa Boston compatible with v4? I have been having trouble getting it installed. I've gotten Toronto and Midway in V4, but not Boston. If it is, can someone point me in the right direction for installation? Thanks

Hi all, I just installed the latest (P3D v4 version) SXAD update for KBNA, but there are no taxi lights. Some taxiways have the green centerline, but for the most part the airport is dark. Anyone else have this problem or know of a possible workarond?

I was just wondering if anyone was still using the old TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=, TextureMaxLoad= in P3Dv4 and if your seeing a difference. I used these settings back in my v3 days and had good results with texture loading. Only tweak I'm currently using is TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=10. It gives great results but increases the load time but it is worth the wait.

Quick question, is Active Sky Cloud Art and Rex Soft Clouds considered competition or do they complement each other?

Hi, I currently have a 16:10 widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1680:1050 and I am experiencing a lot of aliasing, e.g "jaggies" although having Anti-aliasing set to 4xMSAA or 8xMSAA in Prepar3D and in nvidia inspector to 4x sparse grid super sampling and "Enhance application settings". Particulary during night, all 3d night lights in greater distance are flickering. I am wondering if an upgrade to a higher resolution monitor (2k or 4k) could solve the problem due to a higher pixel density. Does anyone who upgraded to 4k or 2k experienced any improvements? Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen. I am looking for a good Barcelona for P3Dv4 and I see JustSim and LatinVFR both have versions of the airport. As far as eye candy goes which on of the two is better? And which one is better on performance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy, Just found the Carenado EMB505 Phenom 300 for P3Dv4 available for download from the Carenado website. However, the Navigraph Expansion Pack for the 300 does not appear to P3Dv4 compliant as of yet. Enjoy! Regards, Gary

Hi, Last weekend I installed the updated EnvTex. I already use ASP4/ASCA. EnvTex can be integrated with ASCA but I'm not entirely sure what settings I should use to accomplish. In EnvText settings, I have configured the following: "ASCA + EnvTex integration" Cumulus: ON Cirrus: ON I'm a bit puzzled about the Cumulus & Cirrus settings. Should they be on or off in case of ASCA integration? If on, are the EnvTex clouds being used or the ASCA clouds?

Hey guys. I own Thai creations VABB and I understand that it's not fully compatible with p3d v4. I've read a few posts on the forums and personally have had issues with elevation, missing runway and taxi lighting, holes in the runways etc. Do we have a fix for this? Has anyone been able to convert the files to work with p3dv4? I know the developer is silent on all the current issues and in fact I think they've abandoned the company. Are there any other VABB sceneries that I could look at? Payware or freeware? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Other than the PMDG 737, I'd like to know why the default 737 from FSX isn't in Prepar3dv4. Also, I've downloaded the 717, 737 pak, and 787 pak from Rickooo site and although they show up beautifully and fly exceptionally well, I cant get the radios to show up. Shift+2 only gives me a BLACK RECTANGULAR block off to the lower right of the screen....NO RADIOS. I've checked the configs of these planes and there is nothing differerent from other radio configs in other planes. If only I could get the radios, I would be satisfied. I'm trying to get SODE to register itself in the dll.xml and exe.xml files in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 so it'll show up in the Add Ons menu in the sim. However, when I hit the "Register!" button in the SODE manager it does nothing to the DLL or EXE files. There are no SODE entries, yet the manager says SODE is registered.. I'm running the manager as Admin. I've excluded every relevant folder from virus scanning. Has anyone seen this before that can help? Thanks.

Curious to see where you have your core settings at. I have tried "All" and "Auto" so far but, for me, the 750 is very sluggish when first started but does smooth out after a minute or so.

Hi everyone, I know there is a lot that hints that the next version of P3D (v4) may be 64 bit and may be imminent (imminent being sometime this year...perhaps). Rather than add to the many threads that discuss when/what we will see, I wondered if people could perhaps outline what would actually be required to get things working in a 64bit version of P3D? I'm curious to know in particular how different types of add on may need to be changed/updated or plain totally redone. So I just decided to uninstall FSX and was thinking of reinstalling again. Then I thought wait, there are all these other options too. I already have have FSW and Aerofly2. FSW is amazing and seems very promising. Aerofly2 has a long way to go becaus of limited HD scenery. Then there is P3D4, the 64bit version, the closest thing to FSX because it shares many compatibility with scenery and aircraft. I feel lost and not sure what direction to take. Should I reinstall FSX or go for P3D? I'm reluctant to try P3D because so many are experiencing problems with CTD, and other problems. I pretty much resolved many of my problems in FSX and almost certain to be up and fying withou…

Something new cropped up in my P3Dv4 system. My keyboard is inoperative when I get into an aircraft after starting up the sim. My Saitek and all the buttons work, but not the keyboard keys. I discovered that if I do a CTL-ALT-DEL, start the Task Manager, and then close it the keyboard starts working. Ever heard of this? Any ideas? Noel

I have just installed Ireland and Northern Ireland FTX on my Windows 10 PC running FSX. I have FTX Global, open LC and Vector also installed When waiting on the strip at Belfast airport, there are cliffs lining either side of the runway. On flying into the airport, the runway blacked out at approach, reappeared as I landed blind and then revealed scenery and buildings on the runway into which I crashed. I am guessing I have elevation data problems? Any ideas on a fix, please?

Looks like Aerosoft is backpedaling and decided to rebrand their large Airport sceneries with a 'Professional' tag (that made me giggle) once those get a P3Dv4 treatment (introducing V4 SDK features like dynamic lighting). http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F126204-mega-airports-for-prepar3d-v4%2F I dont mind to pay 5 EUR for a significant update, but its not exactly what they promised....
