purchased v4 while ago, when I add 3rd party airport , and change to night time, fps dropped to 10~14fps even with FXAA and AA settings to OFF with default aircraft. (no AI setting). When I remove 3rd party scenery,fps seems to be back to normal in the night time. What seems to be the problem? 3rd party airport with day time seems to be perfectly normal fps rate.

Hi Guys, today I did my first flight with the 737NGX in P3D v2.5 (with all Hotfixes) from KJFK - KIAD. Short after the T/D my P3D crashed with the "atc.dll". My installations: P3D v2.5 Active Sky Next SP2 (latest version) PMDG 737 NGX (P3D) FSDT KJFK FB KIAD WOAI (with Estonia Migration Tool and the help of http://simmershome.de/woai-in-prepar3d-v2-3/ (german)) I noticed a mixed traffic (default and WOAI) and even after I installed ALL WOAI packs, I don't see ALL planes. I'm missing United etc.. and a lot more). So could this "atc.dll" crash come from a faulty WOAI installation? And a more important question. Is there a good AI-Tool for P3D v2…

I have watched a lot of YouTube videos of P3Dv4 flights and was always impressed by how people manage to get sharp VC instrument displays. I find my display is not blurred but it is far from what I would call sharp. Is there a trick to improving the instrument (and general) display ? Or is it because people downgrade from 4K to 1080p and then it looks just great ? Thanks

Don't know why the CRJ seems to be such a touchy topic but was wondering if anyone else is still encountering improper tracking when the FMS is engaged in NAV Mode? Mine seems to have gotten better but, still the aircraft symbol displays weird in the PDF at times looking offset others on the line but crabbed like it's fighting a strong cross wind when there isn't any. Also experiencing a bit of lead turn before before reaching waypoints. Although I have only flown one flight since patching curious if anyone else is experiencing similar?

So sad, this was a must have add-on for me. I'm guessing it has to be recompiled for 64bit support. Since it's a .dll file. I tried to get it working, but it crashes the sim. Does anyone know of a workaround to get this working or better yet, an add-on that's similar?

I initially had meigs working fine with p3dv4.. perhaps before i did objectflow v2 or maybe even after, unsure.. but suddenly i have an issue that this area is missing the buildings near the runway.. nothing but dark shadows. I've checked that the library is up to date (enabled both in scenery.cfg and for add-on xml for objectflow 2).. i've uninstalled meigs and did a reinstall.. tried running with just meigs enabled in scenery to rule conflicts. Has anyone ran into this issue? Thanks in advance

Does anyone know if there has been a change in the way LODs are handled by V4? I have a bunch of older AI which have LODs but are now not showing up in V4 from a close distance. They can only be seen from about a mile away. Oh and they work fine in V3... Shez

I am currently running Windows 7/64 installed on a standard W/D HD with my Prepar3D v4 installed on a separate 500 GB Samsung SSD. My Windows 7 is showing her age and I am now ready to insert my new Мicrosoft Windows 10 Professional Edition 64 Bit OEM. I want to install this W10 onto a separate Samsung SSD. Can one of you kind folks advise me on what I need to do with my P3D installation after I have the new W10 up and running? Do I start from scratch with a full uninstall and reinstall or do I just do the "old" uninstall "client" thing like we used to do for upgrading P3D to a newer decimal point version ? Hey guys, finally jumped on the P3D v4 bandwagon and I have read that (xyz) add on works in P3D V4. But how do I know for sure that it is the truth? Do I have to look for a new V4 file or do I just use the same one I had before in V3? I have decided to only install products that state they are made to work with V4 and not just compatible. That seems like a big difference and I want a fresh install and not have any problems. I just want to make sure that I am doing this the correct way. Thanks P.S. I know some of the heavy hitters have said that their product works in P3D V4 but now I have read to not believe them 100% so I am really confused.

I can understand some threads get locked when they get out of hand etc, but the CRJ has just been given a huge update, we all have plenty to discuss and now it gets locked?

Hello, What would be a good weather engine for p3d v4 ? I have used the default one in fsx till now, but pro atc X for some reason is not reading the weather in p3d. When weather in set to 25kts in the sim, pro atc x gives me winds calm and qnh 0. This sometimes leads me on an approach against traffic taking off or the atc annoyingly giving instructions to the wrong approach. I tried using OPUS FSI to inject weather and this solved the problem, but the problem with opus is it requires you to be online always ? Due to the nature of my job, I am away from an internet connection for extended period of time. What I'm looking for is a weather engine that allows…

My system: Intel 4790 @ 4.9ghz, 16gb DDR3, (2) 1080 GTX's. A robust computer. Windows 7 64 Professional. All drivers, updates, activex libraries, etc up to date. New to Prepar3d, just purchased and installed V4 to a custom, user-defined location on my c-drive. Above average, however not maxed out settings, I can not get the sim any higher that 13-22 FPS. Tried disabling second video card, frames went to single digits. I even moved all sliders to the left and was shocked to see frames did not budge. I'm reading post by people with similar or less powerful computers excited about the amazing performance and solid 60 FPS. Can someone please help me figure this ou…

Hi, I have the following Saitek products: two Radio Panels, Pedals, Yoke, Trim and Switch Panel. I have P3Dv4 installed with SpadNext and FSUIPC working nicely with these products (except the Switch Panel) along with an EFIS and MCP from GoFlight. I tend to fly the PMDG 737NGX. For some reason, although I can see and configure the Switch Panel in SpadNext, it just does not show up in the Options/Control of P3D, therefore rendered unusable. Any ideas please?

Since I have been running P3Dv4, I haven't been able to save a screen capture. The 'V' key is set as the capture key, there is a P3Dv4 folder in my pictures folder. I don't know where to go to direct the captures to that folder. I searched drives and there doesn't seem to be any captures from P3Dv4any where else that I can find. Any help, something simple? Can anyone suggest why I'm not seeing, or if I am, it's only one or two AI aircraft around airports? Even with sliders at 100%. This is a bang up, fresh install of P3D V4. No third party progs except Orbx regions, PMDG NGX and A2A 182.

I have the latest version of Ezdok installed with p3dv4.. i decided to try creating a few custom camera views.. i did the sequence to initiate edit mode.. is moving the arrow keys the only way to move the camera.. it seems horidly slow to move.. inching its way along.. Curious if i'm missing something there. Thanks in advance

I'd appreciate some advice about (legitimate) possibilities around installing v4 compatible addons into both v3 and v4 of P3D on the same PC. Is it always/generally/occasionally/never possible using the latest installers, is it restricted by licensing conditions etc. Are there different policies between different vendors? Can different P3D instances share files in some circumstances, etc. I don't yet have v4 to test this out. I'd like to start transitioning across quite soon - but slowly. So I'd like to use some scenery / aircraft / weather addons in both sims for a while but to help me judge the right time and strategy for me to move across it would be really helpf…

Hello, This is my first foray into the world of AI traffic. Can somone point me to a guide or manual which explains how to proceed. As I understand, only models made for FSX will work correctly with P3D4 ? So far, I've got the base models and repaints of a few airlines, schedules for selected airlines and AIFP. After installing the repaints into the base models manually by editing aircraft.cfg, I added them to AIFP. But when I added the flight plan to AIFP, it does not detect any of these aircraft. Do these aircraft need to be inside the P3D Aircraft root folder or can I have them is an independent location ? My P3D is installed in D:/Lockheed Martin/..... a…

I fill out my flight plan between two well-known airports and then I click ok, but there's a pop up that reads; The following characters are invalid for file names <>:/\1?*. This prevents me from filing a flight plan.

Hi guys, I recently switched to P3D v4. I was able to move most of my custom AI setup without any issue (just left out incompatible models for now). But I've found one bizarre issue. At first I couldn't figure out what the strange periodic whooshing noises were while I was sitting at the gate. Then I realized that each time an AI plane landed there was first loud whoosh when the back wheels touched and then a softer (but still loud) whoosh when the front gear touched. It was louder than the cockpit air conditioning, even though we're talking about planes half a mile away!
