Sometimes I miss stuff like certain approaches. Just now I flew into ENSG and had to land on runway 6. Luckily there was this chart: https://ais.avinor.no/no/AIP/View/17/aip/ad/ensg/EN_AD_2_ENSG_5-1_en.pdf It wasn't until I was 15 nm out that I found out the SGD LOC on that chart doesn't exist at all in P3D v4... Luckily the SOG VOR DME was there all the time, which led me to the airport, but I was planning on flying a nice published LOC approach but no... it was not to be. I've had this before. Annoying. Good morning guys I just received my Oculus Rift yesterday, unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time to setup and test it, but I did the basics, tried to launch P3D V4, and a this moment, on the Headset I just saw that P3D V4 is taking a long time to load and nothing else is there an option that I forget to tick on the P3D menu to activate the VR? Or do I just have to launch P3D with the headset on my head? any help is apreciated

I have just enjoyed my first FlyTampa experience (taxi/take off/pattern/landing/taxi at EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol), and I am astonished at the performance in P3D v3.3.5 on my PC. I was expecting framerates to struggle with high detail levels (and a full suite of detailed AI planes), but it was mostly super smooth from pushback to parking. I am very impressed, considering that this is such a huge, detailed airport with lots of 3D buildings and other objects surrounding it. I also wondered about VAS limitations, but I did not experience any problems in this department. A very pleasant surprise, and this is with nothing more than a 2GB GeForce GTX 770 GPU.

I have not been able to load PD3 3.1 since I bought it yesterday. I uninstalled it, then did a reinstall. It crashes on the opening setup screen. The F22 shows up, that screen then goes to black within seconds. I have done an appview check for problems. Most of the time, the report indicates a fault involving the facilities.dll. Hi Guys, I'm getting this very strange effect when panning the view in P3D v4. It's around the clouds and the sun, and it happens when I pan the view around with my mouse. Does anyone know what's causing it please? I tried disabling HDR but it doesn't help... I hope someone here knows what's going on...

I'm confused about the simulated time. I have a default scenario set up at a US west coast airport (Pacific time zone) and I'm on the east coast (Atlantic time zone). When I start that scenario from the opening screen I first adjust the time setting down 3 hrs to be west coast time. But when the scenario starts and the airplane is loaded the airplane time is still indicating LCL time of the east coast. I want to fly at the real current time for the time zone I'm simulating so everything synchs up with ASP4 and online ATC. In FSX I had a saved default flight on the east coast and when I would change locations to the west coast the time would adjust automatically. Wha…

I live in fire-plagued California, use Active Fire Mapping in Google Earth (https://fsapps.nwcg.gov/afm), and hope to learn if someone has made a fire mapping utility for P3D, complete w/ smoke plumes etc. It would be even better to be able to drop retardant on them. Thanks!

I started to experience an issue with my mouse which I did not have before. Once I load the sim and start my SPAD.next for the saitek equipments and choose by flight plan , date and time, I press load before even having the flight loaded the mouse stops working. It moves very strange and generates a sound like beep every time I touch it or move it. I also tried my trackball on my keyboard same thing happening. Must restart the sim and then I get again the same issue . I am unable to start any flight. I appreciate any help amr guindy

I am primarily a GA flyer and LOVE my GTN 750. However, since I can't update the airac on the GTN, I am looking for the best, most complete aircraft that utilizes an updatable FMC. I know about PMDG, but it's systems are WAY too complicated for this old bird. I would like the new CRJ, but way too many issues. Maybe I will reconsider after a few more updates. Anything else out there that is a "Study Lite" aircraft with FMC? P3dV4

I would like to try rex texture direct with soft clouds which I already own. As I understand ASCA does not overwrite the clouds textures in the sim folder. If so this means I can just install the textures from rex and run AS without ASCA. The reason I would like to experiment with this is because I would really like to see how thunderstorms look without ASCA.

I have FSX versions of the A2A 172, Commanche, and 182 among others. I would like to know how to get the updated P3Dv4 versions. I only see a way to re-purchase them on their website, but don't see the link to update for free, as I understand some are. Please let me know exactly where to find their update for these planes. I had already owned f2screw for P3Dv3, and I'm not sure if I really want to spend another $35 for the same exact thing in P3Dv4. But with that being said, do you guys recommend these 2 add-ons? Since the PMDG 777 is currently and has been my most favorite planes to fly. I would like to make the flying experience as immersive as possible. Is it worth spending $62 for these 2 add-ons?

Hi all, when flying in the VC, I have the HDR effects, bloom and lens flare etc, but when I use cockpit view only without VC, this effect is gone. Is there a way, to have the HDR effects in normal view, when I use it for my homecockpit, without the VC? Thank's Sven

I am confused about the use of this option. Does it affect the sharpness of the default ground texture, photoreal ground texture, or autogen texture?

I can't remember when I first saw it, but there is now a light blue band around all shorelines in P3Dv4, as shown in the image below: I know this is supposed to simulate shallow water near the shore, but I find it extremely annoying and unrealistic. Does anyone know where this came from and how to turn it off? Also, while I'm ranting, is there a way to turn the wave action off as well? Thanks, Russ

Hi, I was wondering. Do you have any recommended AA setting for P3D V4 at 1080p? Some setting which has good balance between performance and looks. Combination of Nvidia Inspector and internal setting? Or only internal setting? Specs: i7 3770K OC at 4.3 GHz GTX 980 Thanks very much :-)

Can anyone tell me if there might be any problems when I share my flightsim PC with a DAW (Harrison Mixbus32C v4 to be exact)? A flightsim is pretty sensitive software, when it comes to bugs caused by other software and DAWs can have the same problem. Is there anyone who used recording software next to flightsim software, on the same PC, who can tell me about their experience with both on 1 PC? If they encountered any nasty problems, or if it will work fine?

About 12 years ago I started flying RC helicopters, and probably bought about 6 of them, at an average cost of around $1,000 each. Then I could go through a gallon of fuel a week at about $15 a gallon. I did this for a few years and got pretty good at aerobatics with the copters, and during that entire time I only crashed one, trying to avoid an RC aircraft flown by a newbie, and I lost the orientation of the copter I was flying. I've been using FSX since it's release. Prior to V4's release, I've never used any version of Prepar3d. Using a Windows 7 system, I purchased V4 and was perplexed at the poor performance. I inquired in the forums, a rare minority of people reported the same issues. At the same time, I was experiencing frequent crashes in FSX; APPHANG 1b crashes virtually every time I started a flight in the NGX. I determined my Windows 7 was corrupted either by my own user error or other means. I upgraded to a I5 7600K at 5.3ghz, fast DDR4 memory, and two 1080 Ti's.
