Hey, since i moved from orbx ftx .... to gep3d and utx i have a strange behavior. sometimes when i start the sim i gave only 3 - 5 fps cpu and gpu are at nearly idling ( cpu 20 %fps gpu 3 - 17 %) uaualy when i then change the cloud density to somerhing different the frames go up to 30 and more ( monitor is at 30 hz). and everything is smooth. i then moved to an outsight view and bamm again 3 fps. Changed density and back to 30 fps. strange thing is when the frames are back at 30 i can change the density slider back to max and nothing happens still 30 fps. is it possible that something from orbx is left and causes this? i …

I know this is a common problem which goes back until FSX times. But it is still there. It happens mostly after a flying some time over demanding scenery. ORBX land is prone to this phenomenon but it happens also at other areas on airport approach. I am not sure, but airports with hills and mountains around seem to be more affected than flat land airports. I am wondering if there is an explanation for this behavior and why LM does not address this issue. There is a cumbersome work-around by forcing the sim to reload the scenery but this is not what I like to do on landing approach. Does anyone know another way to avoid those floating houses. I'm currently running the sim on a 4K 55" TV. I plan on getting a 2nd monitor perhaps a 1920x1080 so I can surf the net, run PFPX, EFB, PRO ATC, Moving Map or PDF viewer for charts and what not. Would this cause any decrease in framerate while flying in my sim? Since it has to push additional pixels, I'm afraid of a performance loss.

Hi everyone, I have request from users of this Scenery. How is the performance in P3Dv4? I also have Flightbeam KIAD, and I want to fly my PMDG birds from KDCA? I have tried their demo a while back, but I can't remember the performance and since this scenery is on sale, I am contemplating on buying the license. Just do not want a bad experience after buying it. Thanks

Hi, I just upgraded my Client to 4.3 and noticed that my Nvidia existing but old driver 397.93 has the good old problem undocking and moving a (in this case the left PMDG FMC/CDU for VR insight CDUII) Has anyone tried it and maybe with newer drivers ? Thanks Michael Moe

Good evening, so far I am loving 4.3, however one thing that has always bothered me with FSX and Prepar3d is the star brightness. I see a lot of YouTube videos (Rob Ainscough's mainly) where the stars at dusk/ night/ dawn look much more "toned down". I am using ASP4, ASCA, as well as Envtex and Envshade. Perhaps I am missing a little tick box or a slider setting. Thanks for helping me make P3D great again!

I have been researching the above two programs for adding AI traffic to my P3dVer4.3...Do any members have experience/opinions with either of these programs and advice as to which to choose? Thanks a lot! Steve in Kansas

Had this problem in v4.2 and now in v4.3 I have all FTX Global installed plus all Europe regions. Terrain blurries always a problem, when I disable Open Lc North and South America in the scenery library the problem is solved. I have not tried the opposite reason being mainly flying in europe, are there any suggestions?

I absolutely love P3d 4.3. Everything is clearer, distinct, and the lighting is suberb. Performance is up for me. However, I've had this problem in the past: My Radio Gauges for default 737 now show a big black rectangle. In the past I replaced the dlls that affected this, and it worked. I've done that for this version, and it doesn't work. Since I upgraded client, content, and scenery (not just client), is there something specific in one of the 3 that affects gauges? If not, any one else having this issue, and would appreciate some advice. Stan

Ever after I updated to P3Dv4.3 I notice that loading of photo scenery takes almost double the time that it used to take in P3Dv4.2. Am I the only who is experiencing this? I wonder if there are ways to prevent these long loading times. (Yes, I know, disable all photo scenery, but that's not the solution I am looking for :) )

I wounder how many more P3D versions will be out till they fix the shadows issue ? P3D V6 ? how hard can it be ?

Right this is probably a silly question but here goes, when we install payware sceneries addons or even freeware for instance, do the P3D default sceneries still try to load behind the new ones we added? For example, you install all of the Orbx FTX files, i.e Global, Vectors, LC's etc etc, those are what show up in the sim during flight and also show up higher on the priority list in the addons menu, now are the P3D default sceneries still loading but behind the Orbx files or hidden, I didn't know if you unticked the default P3D files that your payware are replacing, could explain the performance hit, I did say it was a silly question. 🙂

There are some old scenery that I wanted to install, but it needs a valid P3D v3 folder. I have uninstalled v3 a long time ago. I heard you can install it by creating a fake dummy P3D install directory with a fake prepar3d.exe in there. But it's not working for me. I have created the folder on D:\Games\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 and placed a dummy prepar3d.exe file in there. But the installer isn't recognizing it.

I have been a beta tester for this product and many of my suggestions were inplemented. When flying very low or on the ground at a very detailed airport the FFTF value is low. Maximum performance. When flying and climbing the FFTF value will rise so blurries will be prevented. Also there is the possibility of using min/max framerates to dynamically change the FFTF value. All settings/values can be set to your preferences. Most of you know that I have a triple view setup and I have to be very carefull with my settings to avoid framerate loss or experiencing blurries. I've done a clean install of 4.3 with app data roaming etc all deleted, CClean etc etc. After install the splash screen comes up and it just hangs. Any ideas?

I have been working over the past month and a half on completing a new build and slowly installing support programs, software, and hardware. All software is the most current version. All drivers are also current except for NVIDIA as the current driver causes me to have display issues. What I have noticed the most, is that when you start the sim say with the PMDG 737 at Flightbeam KIAD with moderate weather and settings, the sim will run rather smoothly with FPS in the mid 30's. I have installed my RealAir Lancair Legacy v2 to P3D v4.3, everything is working except the sounds are not there. If anyone here has this plane working with sound via add-on.xml method, please share how you manage to get the sounds working. Hi all, I've been trying to install P3d v4.3 for hours now but keep running into issue after issue. I have had to download each file individually and then verified the file using fciv program (md5 checksum). They are all ok (i.e. md5 check sum matches)! However when I run the Setup_Prepar3d file (as admin), somewhere along the installation process I get errors such as those below. I currently have windows defender disabled. This is also a fresh install of Windows 10 Home (formatted and reinstalled this morning). Any pointers? Note I am trying to install P3d to a 256gb SSD (Windows is on another 256gb SSD) and the installation files are on the 2TB …
