I'm currently using 4.1 and was wondering if its safe if I installed 4.3 and keeping my existing 4.1 install just incase?

Hi everyone, Just a small observation which might have bin covered. I notice a increase of sharpening textures in the distance using high resolutions textures and TEXT_BAND_MULT=80 The differentcies is the distance that texture was loaded including photoreal (ORBX LOWI) Can anyone explain this ?. Seems that my SLI 970 can keeep up quite a bit Why is High resolution texture also improving distance photoreal loading ? Thanks Michael Moe

Hi guys, trying my luck again. my rig: i7 8700, GTX1080 , DDR4 16GB at 3000, WIN10 although i set 8XSGSS with Nvidia Inspector and 8XMSAA in the sim, the AA is still not sharp, from 2000 feet in the pmdg 737 the runway looks really really jagged and has stairs look, as well as high buildings and other autogen. also the VC looks not sharp, the gauges and the text not clear, but when i zoom really close its really clean. what can cause that? thank you.

i just updated today to P3DV4.3 , it allways closes when trying to open program Please help

I have uninstalled my previous P3D v4.1, I still have my folder, but I renamed it to Prepar3D v4.1 (backup). and I just recently performed a clean install copy of v4.3. Do I have to install FSUIPC, FS2Crew, SODE, from scratch again, or can I just simply copy those folders over from my 4.1 install into my 4.3? I think it'll be okay since my main P3D v4.3 install folder is in the same location as it was before with 4.1. I didn't change anything, so whatever is in my registry for the PATH should stlil all be the same.

the PMDG products are always top notch. I love the 777 and the 747 and even the NGX. My favorite seat when actually flying on one of these planes is the first row of the 2nd biz cabin in order to get the perfect view of the GE90-115B on the 77W. When running, the hub on the PMDG 777 just doesnt look right. it ends up looking more like a RR Trent than a GE90. Obviously this is a minor complaint but after flying the QW787 and the GEnx-1B, the QW787 version looks so much more like the real thing. The GE90-110B/115B and the GEnx engine fan hubs look very similar. Any hopes of PMDG correcting this in the future? Especially with the 747-8 coming out.... eventu…

I keep seeing this thing pop up from time to time and I'm not sure exactly what it is and what add-on installed this? Is this safe for P3D v4?

I recommned the Aeroworx Africa mesh scenery (found in the Avsim library) which is the only package that provides an accurate representation of Table Mountain. Interested to know what 'Lite' means in this case, as there isn't really that much to Cape Town airport - relatively speaking.

Hey guys, I do notice that enabling Speedtrees, the fps drops on my system. Disabling as brought FPS smoothness on my end. Dynamic lightning is fine, not seeing any issues with it so far Also, i am seeing that everytime I exit P3D4.3. It creates dxDiag and Prepar3d.cfg Text File (it seems it doesn't close properly). I had these files created when I had only clean installed 4.3 with zero addons and configs. Those errors were always prevalent in all the previous build if P3D crashes. But why does these files keep on created in the P3D in Roaming Directory of the Sim in AppData Directory Please share your thoughts if you are seeing low fps.

OK, this might seem odd, can there be an FPS leak?? Something similar to say a memory leak... I did a small 30 min flight last night with PMDG 737 and FlightBeam KIAD. I departed KIAD went on a short around the D.C. area and then returned back to KIAD, landed and then shut down. It was at night and with ASN current conditions. Those included overcast and slight rain. On the ground FPS high 30's - mid 40's. In the air, high 40's to mid 50's. When I woke up this morning the sim was still running, with partly cloudy skies, however, the FPS had dropped to the mid 20's... I don't expect the sim to run forever with high FPS. I expect it to change as time goes …

Stumped doesn't really cut it but highly frustrated does. So "all" I want to do is add the air asia airlines to my ai. I have downloaded the correct model and version from FAIB and I found awesome paints from a well known site. I can see them in the game but the textures are black. I have checked that the aircraft text matches, the textures are in the correct folder and the number is sequential and still I have black planes. I have been adding airlines recently and have had no problems until I start with these air asia repaints. Normally I would just keep trying but I am throwing in the towel and asking for help. Thanks

Hi I'm looking to buy a new aircraft for training. Like in the real world, I'm guessing a small cessna is a good start, but I'm up for suggestions. The important thing for me is the G1000. Whatever it is, I want a modern cockpit, such as one having a g1000. I would appreciate advice on what to buy. Thanks, Gaz

I use PFPX to plan my flights and wanted to know where I may find 787 profiles for PFPX? If there aren't any, then how are we suppose to do fuel planning and such into our flight plans?

I see a lot of sound mods and add-ons and such for planes, and cabin crew, etc but how come nobody has done any sounds for the airport? It feels so lifeless when you're sitting at the gate, doing your pre-flight duties and having to switch to external view to hear lifeless sounds. I want to hear the sounds of plane engines, the sound of ground crew vehicles, the sound of vehicles going in reverse, the distant rumble when planes take off, wind noises, etc. All of which makes the airport come to life.

Does anybody know any good reading material or starting points on the most effective way to utilize this monitor? While I didn't get it just for P3D, I would like to try and take advantage of it, if possible. After several years not using fsx, I wish to replace fsx by pd3 4.2 First question: Knowing that many add ons for FSX are intalled (I am mainly thinking about EFB, Active Sky, FS Commander, Traffic etc...) is it better to remove FSX and install PD3 4.2 or should I install PD3 4.2 next to it. I am ready to renew all the addons. Ease of intalling is more important than trying to reuse whatever adds on I have. My second question will depend on the answers I receive. Roger P.

Airport Design Editor is a really useful tool for creating airport AFD files, but I have noticed a handful of issues with AI planes that could easily be avoided..... Multiple nodes on runways between taxiway exits - I have seen so many AI planes make ridiculous turns on the runway after they have landed, and it is usually because they have encountered an extra node between successive taxiway exits. I really do not understand why these nodes are added in AFD files (unless they have simply been overlooked by the developer). As far as I can see they serve no useful purpose whatsoever. I had to reinstall the client version of P3dV4 due to a crash. the program seems to be logging flights but when I go to the Analysis to look at the logbook it is not showing the flights flown after I did the client re-install. Does someone have a fix for this I hate to dump the past flight records. Thanks Ken

I have noticed that P3D v3.4 is displaying street lights on some roads. These are single orbs of white light that float above the ground. I had originally assumed that they were something to do with ORBx, but they are still being displayed after I have disabled ORBx LIBS (and no other ORBx scenery is active). I would like to remove these lights, as one is being displayed right next to the runway at UK2000 Guernsey Xtreme. Does anyone know the source of these lights, and how I can switch them off?

I know this is a loaded question..I have a RX580..p3dv4.2...a non free synch 2560 x 1440 monitor...I have an i7 7700k and 32gb ram so I think OK in that department but honestly..inside p3dv4.2 on the graphic settings...I know nothing about AA and those settings..is there settings that are the best? I'm trying to create add-on.xml for all my P3D Sceneries, but I'm stuck on sceneries that have 2 folders? For example this RKSI scenery folder structure looks like this RKSI RKSI_TERRAIN Of course the RKSI_TERRAIN folder should be placed under RKSI folder, but how do i specify this in the add-on.xml file? Hi, I am running 4.2 and I have the latest version of PTA (REX TD w/Soft Clouds and AS). Right now it is set to default. I know there are a few sites with lots of presets out there (REX has some, but I can't seem to find them right now). Can someone point me in the direction of a few popular ones that work with 4.2 and the latest version of PTA? I really don't feel like tinkering too much. I ain't got time for that. Just want to try a few out, set and forget. Also, I read the tomato thread and it also looks interesting, but it looks like setup can take a while to get the PBR like effect.
