I have already posted this over on the Quality Wings forum but so far no help. Trying here. On the RH CDU scratchpad there is a string of V's and W's that look like this: VWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVVW. I Cannot clear this out and use the scratch pad. When I use the Clr button I can clear it up somewhat but the letters are resistant to clearing then they just comes back immediately. I even went so far as to uninstall the plane, redownload, and reinstall. Still have the same problem. The LH CDU works fine. I have no idea where these letters came from or how to get rid of them. Appreciate any advice. Jim

HI, I'm thinking of buying Flight 1 GTN 750/650 Garmin software but although the advertising states it is compatable with almost all payware aircraft, I don't know if it can be used with default aircraft. I'm using P3D v4 flight sim and would like to have some additional Nav help when flying their Constellation and Electra 10 aircraft. I know this would reduce authenticity as both aircraft don't have any GPS systems onboard, but I'm OK with that. Having a pop-up moving map to help me keep to a flight plan when hand flying those aircraft is all I would be looking for. Full use of the software would be useful for other aircraft, but that's another story as they say. …

I am aware there are several past threads on this aircraft. I've gone through them. Now that it has been out for awhile with a few patches I am interested in the thoughts of people here who have had it for awhile. There's a 20% sale this week and I've always liked the DC-8. I've flown this plane many times without problems, but on this flight of 300 miles the right engine cut out. All gauges were in the green, airspeed well below overspeed indicator, and the oil doors were fully closed. The annunciation panel pointed to oil pressure, but I can't identify what was causing the problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem or maybe have a solution? John

Hey guys, maybe you got a small hint for me. I am missing highways all over the world. I have no idea how this happened, I just noticed it. Got FTX Global, Vector, Regions. Even did a reinstall via the FTX Center. Everything else seems ok! I am out of ideas 😞

I'm not sure this is the right place to put my cry for help and I apologise if it's not but I am desperate. After updating the aforesaid program in P3d 4.2 and prior to installation of update JF advises to remove any files that may be left over manually which I did unfortunately, I think I may have removed a P3D file that is required by Global Traffic as I now only have traffic at LEPA and LFMN which is really strange ground traffic taxis and departs there are aircraft in the air but only in these two areas the rest of the world is deserted. I noticed by accident that when Windows 10 (build 1709) Game bar was enabled, the Nvidia Control Panel setting "Adabtive vsync 1/2 refresh" seemed to work on my 60HZ monitor. It seemed to work the same way as normal Vsync capped at 60HZ, only that it now capped at 30HZ. This gave a really smooth and almost stutterfree experience (more than just using the internal limiter in P3D). I must add that it seemed to work best with unlimited FPS and triple buffering and vsync still enabled in P3D. When I turned Game bar off again, the setting in Nvidia Control Panel "Adabtive vsync 1/2 refresh" didnt have effect again, and FPS was back at capped 60HZ I wonder why …

Apologies if this is fairly long but here is the story: I received an email stating that the Feelthere ERJ 135/145XRJ SP was out so I uninstalled my current copy, downloaded and installed the new version. When I selected it within P3D v4.3 the windshield wipers would jump about 1 or 2 inches in exactly 1 second interval. Wiper switches were off and no power to the airplane. Uninstalled and downloaded and installed again. Wipers no longer jumped and were stationary. However, the emergency light switch would jump from Off to Arm at that same 1 second interval and couldn't be turned on. A subsequent reinstall didn't fix so I uninstalled again. Checked other p…

I had PMDG all birds working fine with P3Dv4.1 for a long time without problem. Today, I loaded PMDG 777 and the green line "Initializing …" is not present at all, gauges black, no gear, dead. Loaded PMDG NGX same problem gauges black but with gear. Then 747 loaded just fine. Any ideas to resolve?

I'll get straight to the point. I got a new computer, so I had to re-download my addons. So I did. I reinstalled my FSDT addons onto this computer and the installation went fine. But, when I launched the game, couatl crashes. I don't mean it crashes the game, but couatl.exe crashes. So, I have no addonmanager and no GSX, etc. I have reinstalled it, without my antivirus, but I didn't need to because my original computer had the antivirus on, and it still works. -Aaron Kim

Hello! So I have been wanting to upgrade CPU, however, I would need to change my MBO and RAM as well and I don’t have the money right now. The question is, if I find a good deal on the 4790K, it it worth upgrading from an OC 4.4gHZ 4770K? Will I see any difference? Thanks, Clem

Oh my word it's a long time since I posted at Avsim. The meat of the matter... does the current version of P3D really have the old Captain Sim C-130 in it? And while a quick search of this forum tells me Air Hauler 2 works with P3D, will I be able to port my old AH1/FS9 company in to AH2 in P3D? It was only recently that I heard that the C-130 is now an integral part of P3D. Other than the fact that it's such a lovely plane to fly, I'd been looking forward some years ago to adding one to my Air Hauler 1 company but my XP machine with FS9 died before the happy day. Okay, hello. Please listen carefully, I have a problem with p3d v4 where when I open it up, it shows up and loads up and everything. But right before the menu screen is supposed to show up, the program disspears and there is no window opened either... if I open my task manager, it says that it isn’t open there either... so what can I do to fix this and what is the problem? thanks philip

Hi, After enjoying a few days with FTX EU Netherlands I went for a short routine flight from default KVPS to HURT and was surprised to see this: This is a new development and, as far as I am aware, nothing has changed configuration-wise recently. I was flying with my usual Daytime Display Profile and not the one created specifically for Orbx EU Netherlands. I never liked the idea that ProATC was depending on software from others (Lorby's, MakeRwys) and now I know why... I am in the middle of reinstalling P3D and (of course) ProATC and wanted to download the mandatory Lorby's Addon Organizer... only to find out you can't download it right now...! Help! Now what? I can't use ProATC because another developer has removed his addon from his site? Does anyone know if I can obtain a copy elsewhere? EDIT Found a copy of v1.32 somewhere. The latest version is 1.38. Does anyone know if 1.32 will run well with P3D 4.3?

Hello, I received this error today when trying to load the RealAir Legacy, Milviz C310 and Milviz Beaver. I'm guessing it's a shared resource somewhere missing since it's different addon companies' aircraft giving me the issue. This is in v4.3. Thoughts?

FSL has just issued an update for both the 320-X and 319-X. P3D v4.2 or v4.3 is required.

I need help as I just installed the new prepar3d v4.3 and after a successful installation I restart my computer and prepar3d open the first screen( black screen) and stays on it forever. I searched and found some steps if your prepar3d doesn't open to follow from deleting config files to re download prepar3d nothing worked. I did not add yet any add ons to my prepar3d and I do not have any anti virus on my computer to restrict anything. . The black screen keeps rotating forever i left it over night and never started the prepar3d . Did anyone experience that and what steps where taken to eliminate this issue. Thanks amr guindy

Why is it that every time I close the sim,, this error box flags up.? At first I thought it pertained to FSL's A319 because it kept happening with that particular aircraft every time I exited the Scenario, and closed down the sim. However, since then I have Updated the FSL aircraft to the latest versions, yet this ContentsError keeps cropping up. And that after having run Content.msi. Any ideas, folks? p3d v4.3 How can I solve this problem?

This is a very controversial topic. Which is better Prepar3D or XPlane? The short answer is, it’s your opinion. This question really has no answer. If you can spend tons of money, get Prepar3D. If you can’t afford too much, (but you’ll need at descent computer) get XPlane. Its really what you want in a simulator. If you want a really good 747 and 777 get Prepar3D. If you want a 737-300 series, get XPlane. But with that in mind, I guess I’ll go over the pros and cons of both sims.
