As much as I like Chaseplane, I'm rather frustrated that we are still awaiting the implementation of static camera view support for P3d v.5.x. So a couple of questions: 1. Does anyone have any information, even a rumor, about whether or not this feature is coming? 2. Any clever workarounds I should know? 3. Ezdok v.3.1 instead? I'll add that I've been doing a bit of GA flying with my VA in X-Plane, and I'm reminded that X-Camera is so good with static cameras, view changes, etc. that it is sorely missed in Chaseplane. I tried v6 recently, but got a stutter fest in my install within every are with denser scenery ( default only ) with ASP3Dv6 installed too. Since the Concorde is releasing, and I am really missing, not quite the PMDG 777 but surely the FSLabs 319 and 320, I thought about going v4 or v5. I tested both versions in the past, but I don't recall the results ( too long ago ). I guess that one of the main differences was v4 being DX11 while v5, just as v6 already DX12, but then again even in MFS I reverted to DX11, so... no big deal for me... Since I own the Pilot 32 bit version of this plane for FSX and I can upgrade it to the 64 bit version for a modest cost. Also I have actually never used it so I though lets use it but in P3D5.4. One slight concern is how will it perform on my system (5800X3D 4770Ti 32 Gb RAM) ? For now I have flown A2A planes in P3D5.4 and I suspect the Q400 might be more demanding on the system. I have a lot of ORBX scenery and Active Sky. Also I fly in VR with a HP Reverb G2. Does it work well in VR ?

Hi all, I have returned to flight sim after about 1.5 years. I have reinstalled my P3D, but the problem is that it always installs on my C drive, altough I specificly select a folder on my much larger E drive. I know it needs a minimum of 35 GB on the C drive, but in my PC settings, under the apps section I see that all of the four components are installed on the C drive, wich is substantially more, than 35 GB. If you know a soloution, I am glad to hear it! Good flying to you all!

Does anyone have Taxi2Gate STL working in 4.3? I can't seem to get it working and was wondering if anyone can tell me how to install it assuming it works.

I'm getting into flying gliders, I still have FSX:SE installed so I ran through the glider training mission it offers a few times to learn the basics. I think I understand the different kinds of lift now and I want to go gliding in both FSX and P3Dv5 and do some free flights but I'm not sure how to decide where the best places to fly are. I understand of course the weather is a big factor (wind) and mountainous areas are probably the best but I'm not sure what else to look for when deciding where to fly them. What are the things a glider pilot look for when they are looking for a good place to fly? What is the best kind of weather to look for? Also if anyone has any …

After a long time of try and error I finally found an acceptable setting (FPS) in P3Dv4.5. The only thing I can't get a handle on is the fluctuation of frames, in the range of 18 up to 35. Can someone give me a tip please? Thks, Peter

Evening I use IFE Typhoon a lot and it uses a lot of cockpit click spots for functions to control various autopilot and military actions within P3d. What I am trying to to is map these to the Stream Deck XL to save taking my hand off the stick to move the mouse. The joys of flying with the same hand as the mouse. Any ideas how to do this. Ive got a registered copy of FSUIPC if that can be off assistance. I thought of recording macros using FSUIPC but I cant get that to work with the stream deck either. Thanks.

Just wondering what the best way to handle the refresh rate / fps lock in p3dv4.5. i currently have a 1440p 2K monitor with a refresh rate up to 144mhz. Right now I have it at 120 mhz with fps locked in nvidia inspector at 60 (adaptive half refresh) is this best to do to get the best fluid experience? System: i9-10850k 4.8 ghz rtx 4070 32 GB DDR4 ram All storage on SSDs Using AIG ai traffic as well. thoughts? Trying to see if I can get the best experience without micro stuttering

Really odd goings on whenever I try to start P3dv5.4. I double click the desktop icon and the entry logo appears which usually then goes to the default scenario I have saved. But now I get the logo and it quickly repeats itself...then to the default scenario and I see the progress bar loading...then I'm back on my destop. The only way to get out of the sim is to open the 'task mngr'.....where I see "P3Dv5.4" (2) From there the only option I know will fix the problem is to go to the 'Delete Generated Files"....which works....but I loose all my settings. Hello, P3D fellow simmers / developers. So, from 2 weeks I found the beautiful Ortho4XP_P3D program for creating photo scenery. I have as well ScenProc script and I even attempted to add buildings and trees in SimDirector of P3D [ I use the most expensive license of P3D] This is my first endeavor into scenery creation so I have a simple question - can someone here tell me how can I create water mask for coral reef? I'm getting database connection errors.

I am somewhat confused about what features the enhanced atmosphere setting really offers. There is a slider for volumetric clouds so I suppose that is one thing. But it can be set to none. Then what features remains ? Also what is really meant by volumetric clouds ? I have seen postings talking about volumetric clouds and truely volumetric clouds. What should be the difference ? And which of these is it we get in P3D5.4 ? In other sims ?

I'm running V5.2 with just the simple bgl's in the OCI. I've been running with all of the North American ai and much of the Europe installed. I decided today to fly some long haul to VHHH and ZSPD so I added all the Asian cargo carriers and most of the Chinese carries. But, when I started my flight, I would say 80% if not more of my ai traffic had vanished at all airports worldwide. Oddly, none of the cargo ai of any country or carrier seems to be effected.
