Hello, I'm looking for some good quality mods, free or otherwise for the default Maule airplane in P3Dv5. I've always loved the Maule since FSX and being that P3Dv5 is my first P3D, I was very surprised to see it survived. It really is a great bush plane to fly and I love bush flying, I would love to have some good mods to fix it up and give it some more options. I am also interested in the old Mooney Bravo that I cannot believe survived to P3Dv5, the VC's looks absolutely terrible, both versions. The instruments in the analog cockpit version looks terrible and the G1000 glass cockpit version looks like they tore out the old panels with a Sawzall without measuring…

Hello! Does anyone have experience with the 737 Classic by CaptainSim for P3Dv5. Would you recommend the aircraft? Why/Why not? Cheers!

In P3D's "simobject" folder, you'll notice 100's of objects related to the military eg. "Surface-to-air missile vehicle", "cruise_missile", "Ak-47", etc. etc. It seems to me that P3D has what it takes to compete with DCS, arguably the developer which offer the most realistic military aircraft sim eg.(203) DCS A-10C II TANK KILLER - YouTube (this plane has a 700+ page manual the last time I checked). As far as I know DCS is a Russian company, but had the smarts to move their address to Switzerland before Putin went ballistic on Ukraine. So why isn't P3D competing with DCS?

I just had a look at the first airfield in the P3D v5 airport dropdown list. It's 100 Aker Wood / TN41 / Spring City / Tennessee. I had ORBX global and OLC North America active. The airfield is just a simple airstrip. What surprised me was that there was no lake in the vicinity (at one end of the aifield). According to google earth there is a lake at one side of the airfield. After that I activated ORBX vector and started the scenario again. Now I could see the lake in P3D. So I think it's best to keep vector activated. What do you think?

Dug V6 out of the closet today and installed all the patches, Active Sky/ASCA. Flew around northern California for a few hours in the A2A Bonanza with TrueEarth installed. After a while I thought I had a senior moment. Did I install EnvTex/EnvShade? Sure looks like it. Nope. The lighting in V6 is excellent. My KSTS > KRDD flight matched my drive up 101 earlier this afternoon. I know AS and ASCA are part of this but it was quite an experience. Also, I left the stock AM and had no stutters at all. V6 stays out of the closet. 🙂

This video has shown me how refined the scenery, including landclass & textures, autogen, mesh and even airport scenery, as well as weather, are in P3D v6, no addons added ! P3D v6 Budapest, Hungary to Vienna, Austria - YouTube

I landed today at Manila RPLL. Strangest airport ever. (According to P3D) runway is fine but it is lined with Office buildings and flats. You have to drive through buildings, literally through them, to get to the airport terminal. This is the standard P3D airport no tweaks applied. Anyone confirm this is not some weird glitch on my PC? In case there are people who have not seen or heard of the site https://www.nl-2000.com/ They have all of the Nederlands as photoreal with autogen, including resolutions of either 1 metre per pixel or 50 cm per pixel. 1 metre is pretty good, 50 cm is even better but would need a pretty super machine given the large amount of data to process @ 50 cm. Includes airports, animated trees, moving trains and various other objects as well as airports and v4.5 & v5 are supported. They have their own custom installer with a choice of summer or winter. Interestingly the installer also supports Flight Sim World, where I assume it references via Registy ke…

When a scenery developer say they are leaving the P3D market the one reason they often give is that they don't make money and the scenery doesn't sell well compared to MSFS. Well, I was just over at Simmarket and the newly released Oslo scenery by JustSim is at #4 on the bestsellers list. Wouldn't this show the opposite of what the developers say and that P3D scenery still sells well? (I can't say if they still make money or not)

I apologize if this question has been asked already, but it's a busy forum, and I had problems finding the answers in the search box. It sucks to buy a copy of Prepar3D, only to find out aircraft developers are abandoning the platform. I hope and pray existing products are compatible with V6...

I have finally purchased the "full" Personal License of P3d v6. While I don't exclude the hypotesis of also purchasing P3d v5.4 in order to be able to use my FSLabs 319, 20 and maybe even buy the 21 SL, for the time being I was just looking fwd to install ORBX FTX Global directly into v6, using a fake v4 registry fix. At the ORBX forums I found this interesting thread where good-old Rob contributes with some really nice fine tuning hints to take the most out of some of the v6 features, namely the "Cloud Dynamic Lighting", but not only... MILVIZ made a nice distribution of some of ther older stuff to be distributed free by Blackbird Simulations. No support though. I've found most of them just about impossible to install. What's the secret? https://blackbirdsims.com/flight/freebies.php

The soundpack is still Work In Progress, some things can change in the final version, for example changes in the engine sounds layering. The soundpack includes TWO versions of the engine sounds - "Immersive" and "Authentic". You practically get two soundpacks in one. 🙂 "Immersive" version represent a passenger cabin sound experience, closest to sitting near the JT8D engines. "Authentic" reproduces a sound experience from the flight deck, of course if you keep the engine volume slider at realistic levels (any values around 10-20, depending on your audio setup and Maddog X volume settings). For sound demonstration purposes, we kept the engine sound slider at 60.…

So, Iinstalled the PMDG 777 into P3dv6, using the registry trick, and it worked, but when I decided to update it's nav database through Navigraph, the correct cycle was writen ( 2308 ) but when I try to plan a flight from LPPT 02 ( which is still 03 in P3dv6 default LPPT ) no data for that rw appears in the FMC ( no SIDs or STARs ) and the error message : "ERR: rw02 not available" appears in the scratchpad 😕 I know I came across a similar situation before, and solved it somehow, but I can't recall how 😞 Ah! I also updated the MagVar using Hervé's updated "magvar.bgl", so the correct magnetic heading is available. Any hints really welcomed! EDIT:…

Dear All, I finally took the plunge and bought the "Personal" license of P3D v6. I have already applied the "Registry Trick" using a fictitious V4 install, and was able to successfully install AEROSOFT Madeira and the PMDG 777 200 LR ... But I miss ORBX Global Base, would like to use too and probably even buy Open-LC Europe, as well as the Majestic Q-400 PRO Edition and the iFly 737 MAX, ... Now, in order to be able to use the FSLabs Airbuses, and probably the recently released Concorde v2 I will have to also buy and install P3d v5.4, but then... Q1) Will I be able to also install AEROSOFT Madeira into v5.4, since I already used the fictitious v…

I have developed a little application to set ATC/AIs active departure and landing runways, along with setting active approaches for P3D 64 bit versions. I am looking for some testers. So, if anyone is interested please PM me with contact details. After some testing, I will be posting the release/beta here. Thanks!

I've had a copy of this wonderful airplane, the OZx Grumman Goose Redux HD, for a long time and it is always been one of my favorite classic FSX freeware aircraft. I've always had a fascination with the FSX Goose ever since I started using FSX many years ago and I know I'm not the only one that is or was attached to it. I have the OZx version currently installed in P3Dv5.4 and it still works, and I wouldn't be surprised if it works in P3Dv6 either. The last known link to download it from has been dead for about a year or so now. It was on some file sharing site here: https://www.lockonfiles.com/ I did some research and found out the founder/creator of LockOnFiles…

Hi all V6 users ( I believe there are about 7 of us 😆) , Anyway, has anyone else noticed the severe lack of PAPIs at most airports? This is at many addon airports that show the PAPIs perfectly in V5 but they are either tiny or non-existant in V6. The usual "RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR" setting in the CFG file doesn't appear to make any difference in V6. Any ideas anyone? TIA.

Tonight I installed Sunskyjets' Philadelphia scenery. I also installed inibuilds dynamic lighting for the scenery. The instructions for the dynamic lighting say to open up the P3D cfg file and change MAX_POINT_LIGHTS=250 MAX_SPOT_LIGHTS=250 to MAX_POINT_LIGHTS=1000 MAX_SPOT_LIGHTS=1000 I made the change, but I don't think I noticed any difference. What do those two entries do to the night lighting? What differences am I looking for in the sim?

So... I pretty much have a vanilla v6 install with the Majestic Q400 because it's really the only aircraft supported on P3D in official capacity. Try this... Fire up the good old Carenado Commander that comes default with P3D v6 at night and good luck getting any lights on the dash... Did they completely overlook the default aircraft in terms of it being compatible with their own new version? Or am I missing something? v6 looks pretty decent out of the box, but the lack of lights on default AC is concerning.

Hello all, I have just gone to that Aero navdata site to update my sim to the latest Airac. While Make Runways extracts the correct runway data from the scenery CFG, the go to airport dialog does not reflect these changes, and I think its due to Traffic Global. Global's previous addon, Traffic 360 for FSX, had an Airport Facilities scenery item found in the scenery dialog. I simply deleted it and suddenly runways/gates were correct and I can choose the correct one, since the aero navdata updates the scenery.cfg. Since Global appears not to have a scenery item for its Airport Facilities, and I sure as heck don't want to edit it manually--I just…
