In P3D using VR you need an external monitor connected. Do you think that connecting a 4K monitor means the GPU has to work harder rendering to it as well as the headset? If you switch the monitor to 1K resolution is the GPU actually only processing 1K worth of pixels which leaves more headroom for the VR headset or is it still processing 4K worth of pixels internally? Thanks

Why does my sun in v5 just look like this? It looks like a moon, without any "glow" or bright, shiny area around it. I have envtex installed, but no matter what setting I choose or if I remove envtex all together, it always looks this ugly. Just a white ball in the sky..... Is there a way to improve this? Thx, Stu

Those are my 2 upgrade options coming from a 1060, budget and power supply which I can't change limit my choices, it would be for those 2 cards, should I go for faster VRAM or more VRAM for v5? In my current use I never exceed 5GB of VRAM usage but I'm wondering if it's because my 1060 is trying its best not to go beyond and thus losing performance. Thanks!

I want to use LNM 2.4.4 in a network. On my main PC I use P3Dv4. LNM is running on the client PC. There is a network connection between the main en client PC . in early days I used FSX on my client PC. Now I am using this PC as a client PC in a network. When loading the scenery database on my client PC, I can choose FSX and XPlane as a flight simulator, the "flight simulator Basic Path" contains D: / FSX and the "scenery configuration file" contains the path reference to the scenery.cfg file of FSX. How can I adjust these data so that I can choose P3Dv4 as a simulator and use the scenery database base of P3Dv4 on my main PC. With kind regards,

While MSFS is certainly a distraction and will obviously take away development resources from P3D, I just wanted to start a thread to track the expected scenery we can look forward to in 2020. I'm personally looking forward to: -LVFR BDL -Pacific Island Sim: CLE -ORBX PBI? -FSimStudios: CYVR/CYHZ -FSDT: PIT. They haven't confirmed this. But I'm hopeful. What else?

Hi, I'm currently using a GTX 1060 6GB (with an i7-4790K) for P3Dv5 in VR (it runs okay, I don't have any motion sickness) and I have 2 upgrade choices, a newer RTX 2060 with only 6GB or an older GTX 1080 but with 8GB. I'm looking for advice, I don't exceed 5GB of VRAM usage but I have textures set to 1024. Should I go for newer faster VRAM or more VRAM? I do have DXGI errors but only when I exit and re-enter VR but it seems it's a bug in vram usage that causes a crash with VR

Hello, I just recently made the jump on the P3D bandwagon, I got the V3 and updated it to V3.4, beautiful sim, however it's plagued by another set of problems.. As the title says I'm having issues with the parking brakes and brakes in general, with a clean installation and default scenario loaded (F22 plane) I try to apply brakes via the keyboard and nothing happens, no brakes message appear on the screen as it did on FSX, also if i try to set the parking brakes I see the red announcement for a brief moment and then they disengage almost immediately.. What surprises me is that if I switch to another aircraft like the Beech A-36 brakes work as they should... …

I really can't fly out of the Latin VFR KMIA v2 or KMSY as they it suck all my VRam up. With graphic settings at normal (4K) both are using 6.1GB of my 7.1 when I load any plane. Interesting that Latin VFR KBWI takes about 4.1. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Thank you in advance! Bob

Hello! Has anyone managed to get the Coolsky DC-9 running in P3Dv3? I tried installing it by simply changing the P3Dv3 folder to v2, and when I fire up the sim I can see the aircraft with all of it's liveries, but after loading I just get a black screen and the sim locks up (I need to ctrl-alt-del to shut down). Any thoughts? I have read that some have had success using the Estonia Migration Tool, but I currently don't have it. I am running Windows 10. Thanks! Paul

In my constant "pursuit for better performance", I keep trying different settings and trying to understand some of the settings in P3dV5. I experiment (as I'm sure you do as well) with different higher and lower levels of the many variables we have in the sim. I always wonder about TESSELLATION FACTOR, and what it really is....and what it really does.....and how it affects my flying performance. How do you set this variable? Does it have a significant effect on performance? I'm really not sure of this one. Another setting I found to definitely have an effect on the performance is AUTOGEN AND SCENERY DRAW DISTANCE! Is there a way to import your flight plans from foreflight to P3D V5 H2. I have foreflight connect from my ipad mini to P3D and can follow the flight plan, but i am wanting to see if i can import it to the onboard RXP GNS 530 in the sim. Thanks.

Something weird has happened. I noticed that at some of my default airports that had people walking around and various other animations, that ......all of a sudden, that's all gone! I'm in V5 and just last week, I remember various animations at several airports (default) where people were walking, taking photos, etc. The airports were also more detailed. Now, the airports are very, very basic and the animations are no more. What setting in P3d controls that, and could it be a download problem in ORBX? Hi everyone, I'm posting this here before official LM forums as it may be a wider audience picking this up Recently purchased v5 with latest Hotfix. Installed onto clean Windows 10 (latest version). I'm running a Saitek yoke/rudder and extra throttle. My issue is this. After a short amount of time in flight, the yoke will stop working. Windows actually sees it as disconnected, and the LED readout on it also freezes up. If I am sat idle on the runway, moving the yoke, it's fine. Can move it every which way, and have left it like that for >15 mins, and the yoke works fine. Can confirm once the yoke has "disconnected", Windows doesn't see it either in game control…

Hope someone might be able to help. I recently installed the PMDG 747 QTS II with recent update, however now my P3D will load through the splash screen then run in the background with no scenario screen options. When I go to the Task Manager it shows it running but no icon or anything. I also have done the following: Uninstalled PMDG, including Operations Center Uninstalled and reinstalled the client. Deleted the P3D.cfg file and let the system generate a new one. All above have been done to no avail. Please help! I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall everything! Nate

Hello All, I am experiencing an issue with my P3d v4.5 Flight Simulator, for which I would like to ask the Forum for assistance, it relates to Key Assignments for the Controllers? The Controllers I use are: Razor Orbweaver Chroma, Saitek Proflight Rudder Pedals, and the Saitek Proflight X-55 Rhino stick and Throttle, I have recently switched from the Saitek Yolk system to the X-55, but I can’t honestly say if the problem started from then. Hello all, I have a bit of a quandry here. I would like to change the preset views of F7 through F12 but have no idea if this is possible or whether I have to invest in EZDOK or Chaseplane. What I seek is to set up a view ie cockpit close up for take off with centre line aligned with the centre of the PFD and then allocate that view to F7, Similarly, set up a full panel view of the cockpit and allocate to F8. Outside views would remain allocated to the "S" key, but basically, I want to set up the "F" keys in much the same way as XPlane does with "Control + Number pad 0-9" I have scrutinized (with an intense scrute) the "views" tutorial but that …

Hello. I am trying to find the right definition to the issue I have (tearing, flickering etc.). So when I change views I see that object edges like pavement markings, fences, jetbridge edges, roof edges kind of flicker. Tried to google settings but so far no progress. Walls, flat objects, building, VC look good though. Looking for suggestions. Thanks.

Hi, Is there a key assignment for autothrottle disconnect? I'm looking in the Key Assignments options page and searching 'autothrottle' only brings up 'arm' and 'TOGA'. I'm looking to assign it a key so when flying the QW 787 I can disconnect on finals. Thanks
