About a month ago I played around with XP11 a bit and I discovered a freeware tool called Ortho4xp which allows you to create photo scenery for free by downloading the required data from providers such as Google and Bing. After being used to FSX and later on P3D in combination with the global Orbx stuff the experience of flying over true and detailed photo scenery in XP11 was nothing short of amazing and took the sensation of actually flying to a new level! Now I'm back in the P3D corner again since there were a number of other things I missed in XP such as great weather simulation, detailed study level aircraft such as those from PMDG, a good and well polished …

I am very impressed with Fly Tampa Amsterdam Schiphol, so I have decided that I also want Fly Tampa Copenhagen Kastrup on my hard disk However, I will need good quality photoscenery of Denmark and southern Sweden to enjoy flying to and from this airport (default scenery or ORBx FTX Global is not an option). I suspect that this will prove to be a rather difficult task, but if anyone has any suggestions then please let me know!

I have just realized that the KDTO scenery in MegaSceneryEarth is stretched out toward the North to North East. Using ADE, I loaded a shot from Google Earth to modify KDTO, and after loading it into FSX, I noticed that the North end of the photoreal runway stretched far past the FSX runway. Also, after lining up the hangars, etc., the photoreal tarmacs and hangars don't line up either. So, working with other 3D programs, I know that textures are stretched to cover an object, and if another texture is used to replace and original texture, it will look distorted if not properly sized for the mapped object. Is this what is happening here, and is there a way to correct…

I have Megascenery California. The entire state. It's v2 I also have Megascenery SAN and LA and SFO HD (high resolution) ... the HD scenery are at higher level in scenery.cfg And they work well. even though these HD textures overlay over the low resolution textures of v2 for those area the HD covers. What would happen. IF I merge them all into one folder? meaning, I want to copy the files from scenery folders of the 3 HD folders into the scenery folder of the v2. and use only the v2 folder in my scenery.cfg. Would P3Dv4 utilize the HD files from the v2 folder and not pick the low resolution files that's in the same folder? The reason I ask is…

I'm hoping someone can help me solve a problem I'm having with Blue Sky photo scenery. This is the first time I'm trying photo scenery, and I fly mostly in the Yellowstone and Glacier National Park areas. Almost all of the lakeshores and larger river banks have water going up the slopes surrounding them. In addition to the Blue Sky scenery, I'm using Nuvecta Landscapes for Wyoming and Montana. I'm at a loss as to what is causing the problem, so I'm hoping someone here has experience in correcting it and can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone out there as successfully created photo scenery with FSEarthTiles and KML? More specifically, creating water masks for inland bodies of water. Lakes. I have tried several different experiments with it and can't get it to generate water masks. I'd like to keep the photo real texture but have it be water in the sim. I save my AreaKML.kml file. In Google Earth, It as an Area polygon in it that defines the area I want. And, most recently, I just tried using the CoastTwo/DeepWaterTwo polygons for lakes. When I run this through FSEarthTiles w/ the KML file option set on, I'm not getting any water generated in the AreaMask bmps that ar…

A few days ago I received an email from Robert Ferraro, who invited me to buy his new MegaSceneryEarth 4x at a discount, as I had bought some of his sceneries before. That was a nice gesture I thought, so yesterday I bought the two new 4x scenery titles that are so far available: Massachusetts and Florida. As Mass. was a smaller download and as I was excited to explore nice places like Nantucket and surrounding islands, I started with Mass. first. I had also hoped that they had fixed the water masking issues. Well...see for yourself I have P3D 2.5 with ORBX Global and Vector installed, MSE 4x is in the scenery folder above those entries. All following pics are unedite…

I have Megascenery Illinois and Alabama with Nuvecta Treeline but stopped using both because the photo scenery was too flat for vfr flight. I just bought Nuvecta's new "Landscape" for both states and wow what a difference. Lots of trees and buildings. Anyone else have it?

Is there any reason my photoscenery would not be compatible with the upcoming P3D v4? I have tons of megascenery and other photoscenery and I would hate for it to sit on a hardrive. it would be nice to enjoy it in the 64bit environment. I can't see why it wouldn't but I'am not very knowledgable about such matters.

I am using Austria Pro X HD and ORBX EU Airports. Is there anything I can do about misalignment between the airport scenery and the underlying photo real imagery? (At least the RW which is the real eyesore) What are my options besides "live with it." Can I make and exclusion polygon for the photoreal scenery in ADE? If so, can someone give the basic steps or point me to a discussion or tutorial? Thanks in advance

Is there any high resolution photoscenery and terrain mesh available for the entire Faroe Islands? I see that there is a Vagar airport package available at Sim Market, but I would want complete coverage of the archipelago with good quality photoscenery. If I can get Northern Ireland included as a bonus, that would be even better

Hi fellas, I am in the process of downloading some Spanish freeware photoscenery, but I'm perplexed what the three files are that are different from the usual zip folders that show. I have downloaded twice but get the same looking files. Has anyone any experience with this? Thanks.

I use both ORBX FTX line of products and Austria Pro HD.I switch back and forth depending on the flying I am doing, and I like both. When using the ORBX Freeware Airport (LOGO) with Austria Pro HD, the underlying photoreal scenery shows in the airport area that is not tarmac. The alignment of the two products does not match that well, so the imagery of buildings and runway are where grass would normally be. Is there a way to prevent the photoreal imagery from showing in the airport scenery and just use the ground textures? maybe some sort of mask? I am new to photoreal, Dennis

Hi, does anyone else have problems contacting and getting replies from pcavaitor.com. I have bought many megasceneryearth downloads over the past 12 years, but when ever there is a problem, they rarely reply. I sometimes wonder if there is anyone there to respond to a query.

Last year I made a photoscenery for Belgium, Luxembourg and the North-East of France. All in 1 m/p and the Brussels area in 0.5 m/p. After many requests I decide to upload Belgium and Luxembourg and put the dl links here. They are valid till 25th mai. Icw the great and free NL2000 and several other payware photoscenery of Europe it will add some new realism. Don't forget to look for the free Liege Airport photoscenery which fits perfectly. Happy flying Belgium 2012 Part 1 : http://wtrns.fr/qaHeTc4PFp5DPY Belgium 2012 Part 2 : http://wtrns.fr/OrErjUra2faIkME Some screenshots

I now have 2 MegaScenery V3 titles-Tennessee and Alabama. I flew out of Lovell in Chattanooga an area that has three states all in close proximity to one another-TN, GA and AL. In my scenery CFG Georgia is V2 and Tennessee and Alabama are V3. In comparing the two versions the only difference is the coloration is brighter in V3 other than that there are no other improvements. Resolution is virtually identical and there are still water masking issues. I was really hoping for a higher resolution similar to the Ultra Resolution Cities...not happening. Disappointed! I took several screenshots along the border between GA and TN and also the border between GA and AL. Id…

I have recently been playing with X-Plane 11 and stumbled upon the program Ortho4XP that generates photo scenery. In short, I am extremely impressed. The images are superb and unlike anything I have seen in Prepar3d. It would be a great advanced for Prepar3d if a similar program was available. It makes VFR flying very realistic.

Hello everyone, As this is my first post on Avsim, please let me introduce myself. My name is Charlie and I’m located in Denver, CO. I’ve been a simmer since MSFS 5.1 (circa 1995 – Avsim was called “Avsim Magazine” at the time). While focused on MSFS versions, I’ve flown just about every flight simulation program over the years (e.g., Flight Unlimited, ProPilot, Fly!, and X-Plane). Until recently, I’d settled on P3D. Following the Avsim review of AeroFly FS 2, I decided to buy it and haven’t been disappointed. But I digress… AeroFly is my first experience with photo-real scenery. I was so impressed that I thought it might be worthwhile to give it a shot in P3D …

Hello. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with some questions regarding Blue Sky Scenery and FS9. It seems Gottfried is unwilling to do so since the questions are for FS9. The problem that I'm having I don't think I should be having. But, I have no idea why. Especially since others seem confused when I ask about it. The problem is that after flying for a few minutes the scenery turns to basically all blurry. Here is a pic after a scenery refresh... and here is one after flying for a little bit... This is on an i7-2600 with 8GB of RAM and a brand new GTX 1060 video card. I just don't understand why this is happening with me and o…

Is Gottfried still available to help on his Blue Sky Photoreal Scenery? I'm unable to download some of his Utah photo scenery areas and he doesn't respond to emails. I just started using some of his Utah areas but can't get the ones I need. Would I be better off to go with Megascenery? Thanks, Alan

I currently use Orbx Global, ftx vector, and open lc USA. I also bought some megasceneryearth and love it. However, I am running out of space on my hd. Do you suggest I remove vector to get more space? I think everything works well together but I'd love to install more photoscenery.
