Hello. I am looking for recommendations on realistic looking scenery / photorealistic scenery that looks good from high altitudes in P3D. I fly airliners only and currently use Orbx vector, global, and open lc. While these are great, I find that much of the scenery in between cities doesn't look that great. I've seen something in xplane called Ortho4fx and that looks amazing. Is there something for p3d that is similar? I thought about megasceneryearth but I've read there is only one season, no night lighting and once you get to a low altitude it looks flat. That would be an issue for me. Is there anything out there that would be the best of both worlds or is there no…

I am in the process of downloading and installing the southwest bundle of MSE. I installed Nevada and Arizona without a problem. However when trying to install New Mexico, it doesn't give the option to install Into P3D v3. It just gives the option for v2 and it isn't clickable. Anyone know why this is happening?

After many requests I redid the autogen buildings and trees for the whole country. Because it has a temporary DL link form WeTransfer I decided to post it here too. http://www.avsim.com/topic/500611-new-autogen-for-belgium-2012/

Good morning, I keep seeing adverts for Ultimate VFR Guam. It's very cheap, (even for a TG like me!), so I thought I'd try it. But I can't find where to buy it from, as even their own website won't accept my order. Can anyone advise me, please?

I just purchased Ultra-Res Cities MegaSceneryEarth New York City and the Northeast bundle. In general this scenery is OK for Photoreal but that's all I'll give it... it's just OK. I was very disappointed to with Ultra-Res Cities MegaSceneryEarth New York City. This scenery is very, very, very OUT OF DATE! A few examples... it's 2016 and Shea Stadium has been gone for SEVEN YEARS! Where is Citi Field??? As for Manhattan, it has NOTHING TO DO with TODAY's (2016) reality. I think MegaSceneryEarth.Com should be up front as to what year the images used to create the scenery is from. I'm upset with the above but I want to give credit where credit is deserved... Although the…

Here we go again. I just downloaded Missouri V3 and running the installer but, like in previous releases, it is asking me for licensing information (the pin number and my e-mail address) on every file. This was supposedly fixed when I complained about it before - http://www.avsim.com/topic/495106-installing-v3-megascenery-and-software-licensing/ . I entered the licensing information on the first file installed and on all of the others, I cancelled out when asked for licensing information. Hopefully this will work (currently at file 10 out of 18) because I followed the directions on the download link and I'm not downloading "repaired files". The long download process …

I only fly around the UK (and across the Irish Sea to Dublin), and I have this entire area (with the exception of Northern Ireland; ORBx FTX) covered with the PlayHorizon VFR UK Photographic Scenery. I have always been a "supporter" of this photoscenery ever since I purchased the JustFlight VFR Real Scenery by mistake (thinking it was the same product). The JustFlight product isn't bad. It's just far too "green" and rather "washed out", which affects the contrast between various geographical features and areas. It is also less impressive in its depiction of sand banks and other features just below the surface of the water in coastal regions, and I remember seeing mesh ele…

I've purchased both MegaScenery3 Arizona and Utah photoscenery and have just installed Arizona. I'm missing these bgl files from the install. Can someone check and see if these are present in their installation. AZ_1-3.bgl AZ_28-30 AZ_55-57 AZ_82-84 AZ_325-326 AZ_352 AZ_595-596 AZ_622-627 AZ_649-657 AZ_676-687 AZ_703-717 I would assume the bgl's are supposed to be consecutive in which case I guess I will have to download the zips again. Not sure what will happen when I install Utah. Are Utah bgl's consecutive? I'm not sure how to proceed. Thank you for your assistance.

I believe in software licensing especially Megascenery v3 stuff. I wish they would have had a licensing security program for all the other versions. They messed up for sure. The problem now is they do not know how to use it or set it up properly for their customers. The site says in bold red letters one will be required to activate the software via a license you receive at your e-mail address when the first file is installed in the program. Wrong! I have to do it for every file. So, in the case of the new Utah v3 I just obtained, it has 19 files so I have to run the licensing program for each file. That means entering your e-mail address twice. Yes, twice. T…

Just installed MSE Colorado. This is the new version 3.0 scenery. I must say they have done a good job with this scenery. Although I could see a couple of areas that had color differences, this time the differences are very small. Big improvement over the earlier versions. Also I was very pleased with the color depth, or saturation of the scenery. Not washed out, or to saturated. Another nice improvement. Good job, nice scenery.

Airports have been photo aligned for Texas, Florida, Hawaii and Louisiana and posted in the Avsim library. If you are a photo real user and have installed these airports, please report any issues or missed airports to the email address in the readme file. Designers, please note the simplicity of the concept and help with other areas. A sample of these aligned airports are posted on Youtube at ( ). Thanks for your interest and feedback.

Can someone enlighten me on the difference between these 3 products? Each boasts 50cm textures in sales description. I am looking to invest in some CA photoreal. I currently use Blue Sky but certainly willing to pay for better detail. Thanks! Aaron

So, someone suggested Bluesky Scenery to replace Megascenery earth to me so I decided to do a bit of comparison. Below you can see the snapshots....Megascenery and then the identical pic with Blue Sky. I note that Blue Sky does a better job lining up the taxiways and buldings. Also, Megascenery seems to have the ability to show the standard FSX dynamic scenery on top (though everything is skewed somewhat too large.) Blue Sky can't seem to do that yet and has very little dynamic scenery (though cars do move on the roads). Wondered if others have seen the missing section of tiles that covers Los Angeles from the ocean to the end of the scenery to the East. There are 16 files and I installed all of the files. This section is definitely missing. Best regards,

I have been using the awesome NL2000 Project photoscenery for Neatherlands since FSX. I enhanced it with the recent purchase of Night Environment for Benelux. I started at EHAM with 700MB VAS and I flew cardinal south....the VAS free started shrinking from 700...150 untii OOM before I left NL. I deselected the NL completly and redid the exact flight.. and it started with 900MB VAS and went down to 400 or so and stayed there... At UK (South) I use the VFR Horizon Photoscenery and I am unable to NE British Isle with a OOM at start up.. I removed the VFR Horizon and I was able to start up at UK EGLL. It looks like large area of Photo textures and P3D don't…

Hi folks, Recently bought and installed Megascenery se texas 4x and it seems that the views from top down (F12) are far sharper and in much more detail than the view out the windshield when in the 2D cockpit mode. Is this the way the sim normally behaves? or are there settings that need to be changed so that the views all match in clarity? Jim

Hello, So I have just take the plunge into the P3D world. Yes I am/ was a die hard X-Plane fanatic but am looking for deeper systems simulation in the aircraft. So this seems to be the path for now. And as I have found not necessarily a cheap one. However I digress. I have created a massive amount of Photo Scenery for X-Plane all in DDS files. I have found some topics on taking FSX/ P3D scenery to X-Plane but not so much discussion coming the other way. Short story is it would be great to utilize the photo scenery I have in X-Plane for P3D if that is possible in any way to convert. Otherwise I will start looking at creating it for P3D from scratch I suppose. …

Hi I'm using P3D v2.5 and since I've updated to Win 10 64bit and flew across to France I found that the trees and veg do not appear, buildings, pylons, towers etc appear but no veg. I fly GA and the UK is fine but found a post in one of the forums that suggested loading FRANCEVFR sceneries with the French option and not the English. I did that and re-installed Upper and Lower Normandie plus Bretagne and everything is fine, veg is back. My question is: What Autogen Description files do I use in the Autogen folder? Each FRANCEVFR scenery comes with its own Description/Autogen files, such as:- Upper Normandie AutogenDescriptions.spd …

Was flying from Europe to UK this afternoon and noticed some strange tile anomalies in the Channel that just looked like sand coloured tiles. Not sure what is causing it. I tried unchecking various Sceneries in the scenery.cfg but to no avail. Initially I only had the following sceneries active in the scenery.cfg in the following order: - Aerosoft Brussels - Horizon VFR Photo Scenery for Central region (destination was Birmingham). - FTX Global and EU LC (for departure from Brussels) - Ultimate Terrain Europe v2 - FSAlitude photo scenery for once in cruise. Does anyone have any suggestions?
