Photo Scenery Support Forum

I have most Horizon / ESI photo scenery, with Treescapes and openVFR autogen. However, whenever I turn on Autogen, even at Sparse or Normal, the photo scenery textures are not as sharp as when autogen is off completely. I know autogen on photo scenery is not always great but it can enhance the scenery in some circumstances, but is it possible to maintain sharp underlying textures when autogen is added? Are there any magic settings that can help this issue? My system: FSX & Photo scenery on separate ssd drives and separate to Windows10. Processor i5/4790k over clocked to 4.0ghz Graphics card MSI GTX760Ti Triton 2gb RAM - 8 gbytes

Hello, I don't know where to turn because ESI is out of business. I have a few questions. First, let me explain what I have now. I bought these sceneries on DVD and installed them into FSX with no problems and they work great but can cause OOM's but if I'm careful they won't. When I first installed them they didn't give me a path to install them to, they chose by themselves my external HD that I use exclusively for Acronis. It now has a bunch of folders on it but I can live with it. Why did it do this? Why did it not give me a path to install to? It just did it. Now on to another important question. Here are some comparisons of Dublin, Ireland utilizing P3DV2.3 default, Horizon PhotoReal and MegasceneryEarth 2.0. I paused the screen and then switched out the scenery so that the screen and all P3DV2.3 settings remained identical. I'm on the fence about obtaining photoreal scenery for the UK (MSE or some such), but what about a detailed MESH? Would it be worth me getting this: http://www.justflight.com/product/vfr-real-scenery-england-and-wales-10m-mesh For using with stock FSX. I have some up to date freeware airport files - would these be present on top of the mesh? I'd love to see terrain at the correct contours and elevations, even if that terrain might have incorrect colours.. Any ideas please?

I've been using the beautiful, freeware Canary Islands scenery by Alberto Sanchez. However, there's a slight issue with disappearing terminal buildings at the airport (GCTS). I've played around with the scenery sliders to no avail, at certain viewing angles the buildings vanish. My main question is how to go about "detailing" the scenery without altering the terrain mesh? I'm no scenery designer and have no idea as yet what to do. Are there any freeware tools I can use? I suspect it isn't that simple! Can anyone help? I already have ES Isle of Man Scenery installed, and am trying to install Playsims/ES Guernsey Scenery from disc. It keeps saying that a version already exists and I should remove first. However I don't have it installed. Anyone have a similar issue with the now defunct Earth Simulations software? Hi. I downloaded the Megascenery Italy the other day, and to be frank, I am disapointed. There are missing tiles in the download, and some really odd looking scenery in the Alpi di Dolomiti. A ugly green colorcast is present over large parts of these Alps, and gruppe di Sella is partly in a really low resolution. Am I just unlucky or are my download corupted, Or is this scenery marred with faults? Anyone here with simmilar observations?

I just got FSX steam edition, can anyone advise which photorealistic scenery scenery packs are compatible with FSX Steam edition. Is there a world scenery pack available from somewhere rather than having to download various regions IF not which European scenery is the most realistic Thanks in advance

Does anybody know if MSE will be patching their photscenery to work with the new 64bit simulator coming at the end of the year? or are they working on something else. There is no point buying any more till I know the answer, regards

I run FSX-boxed from a 500GB SSD that also has Windows 10. MSE recommends installing their photoscenery to a separate disk to avoid waits in flight. So I did and the initial load times are much longer than when I had it on the SSD, and so far I haven't noticed any difference in flight. So if you have enough space on your SSD, is it better to install MSE to the SSD or a separate hard drive? Thanks, Bruce

Hi gents, I'm getting very weird long pauses when using photo real sceneries i.e Megascenery. My rig works pretty well otherwise with P3D or Orbx textures. Is there any specific settings/ tips/ rules I must be aware of when using PR sceneries with PD V3.2? My PC runs 2 GTX 980 Ti in SLI, a slightly overclocked [email protected] and 16G of solid RAM. AM: 116, no other tweak in P3D.cfg. HT ON, using Process lasso. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

It is not easy to get high quality scenery of Nassau but this isnt too bad

Megascenery Southeast Texas is realy bad at the border with Mexico their is the what seems to be a water shader that runs over into Mexico and it makes a mess of that part of the world. If anyone know of a way that it can be edited to fix it I sure would like to know. I also have never gotten a responce form them. Regards OFF

Don't know if this is the correct forum for my question but here goes:- I've just installed FRANCEVFR Bretagne Vol 1 and have an instant CTD every time I fly near the coast/border with this area or load a flight at any of the airports. The scenery appears and then CTD! I already have FRANCEVFR Upper and Lower Normandy, Picardie and Calais installed with no problems. I've checked every possible avenue for corrupt ADE files, traffic files, duplication but can find nothing wrong. Has anyone had trouble with this area? There is some new freeware scenery out at several sites by Milan SMID that is autogen for Ireland photoreal scenery.It makes the photoreal look better.When I use photoreal Florida etc I use default scenery til I get to 2000' then switch to photoreal.This works almost as well at low level and better at high level.Just my humble "old man" tidbit for you gurus.I just added the texture folder to my Photoreal scenery folder and it looks good to me.Ron

I am not seeing the night lights when selecting UltimateVFR scenery. I have selected the LIGHTS in the FSX scenery library for the states I am testing. For example I select Colorado UltimateVFR scenery, and enable the scenery, water and lights. Then select the Denver airport (KDEN) and set the time of day to night. Now flying over Denver I do not see the UltimateVFR lighting? Is there a setting in FSX I should check? Could another program such as REX Essential plus overdrive be preventing the lights to be shown? What can I check? Thanks, Jim

Bought this product over the weekend. I am having problems installing it. The username and password they provided to download Texas Northeast was the same for MSE4X Texas Southeast (which I also purchased) and their system will not accept it. Hi In nighttime, I'm getting rectangular blocks with no lights showing in Megasceneryearth LA California. Does the slider positions in the scenery display have any effect on this? I'm running FSX on a high spec. PC. Ray

MSE 2.0, MSE Ultra Res Cities, and now MSE 4X all claim 50cm/pixel resolution according to the MSE website and user guides. How can they claim 4 times the resolution if its still 50cm?

I believe I have installed all this correctly, and I am seeing trees, but overall the Tressscapes in Scotland seems very sparse compared with England. Is this just how the product is, or have I got something wrong? Plenty of trees near Aberdeen. Hardly any around Glasgow. England is fully populated with trees,

Hi all. I have 351 gb of high res cities and all of the states. I was wondering if I could cut and paste each high res city into the appropriate state, ie high res Atlanta into state of Georgia. I know it has to be higher in the scenery cfg but though it would just over-right the relevant scenery BGL and save me a ton of space. many thanks, terry

After seeing advice that I could get a much quicker install of the massive Horizon GenX scenery parts 1-10 by first copying all the DVD's to a hard drive, I spent hours yesterday doing just that. I combined each specific product into a single folder, one folder per product. Now I'm trying to do the actual install of the data and the first one I try, Volume 1, just repetitively comes up and says please put in Disk 1. I can't get around it. I've tried doing it locally, from a networked drive, from a mapped network drive. Nothing works. And I cannot see any specific disk ID file in the folder to cause this problem. Hi, Normally i do not have any issues regarding LOD crisp textures but as soon as scenerys uses photoreal i always see only blurry textures even with LOD 6.5 . That not the case elsewhere. Is there something i can try out ? For instance at KJAC Thanks Michael Moe
