Photo Scenery Support Forum

For some reason, the Ortho4XP tiles I created are not showing up under the airport. It did in the past, but I can't seem to remember what I did to make it so. I've double-checked the file order in the scenery packs ini file, but the blank default tiles are still what show under the aiport. Any ideas what the problem my be?? thanks in advance John in Indiana

Ok so further to the thread about French free photoscenery, it has got me re-invigorated about the subject! Rather than just googling it, which can sometimes be a bit unhelpful, I thought I'd ask here instead. So what have we got for Germany and Austria? Paid and freeware? Last time I looked it was just: Aerosoft Germany VFR (ancient and from what I hear, not very good) Austria HD Pro (but only West, East never seem to have appeared) MSE Germany? If I remember correctly didn't some of the Italian photoscenery cover Austria?

Just having my first foray into photo scenery by purchasing MegaSceneryEarth Spain for P3DV4.4. Normally, I use Orbx FTX Global and a few European FTXs coupled with PTA, and have got the lighting exactly as I like it. However, the MegaSceneryEarth textures look completely washed out like they've been severely over-exposed. My question is do I need to re-adjust the PTA / light settings for photo and non-photo scenery scenarios or is there something that I'm missing when setting up for photo scenery ? Any help much appreciated !

I have two questions after the purchase. 1) Is everything OK with docking squares ? 2) Why are rivers and lakes covered with a photo ? They should shine in the sun!

I was looking for the Balearic Islands for P3Dv4 because the old Aerosoft FSX ones don't work and I didn't feel like springing for the P3Dv4 Aerosoft versions. Well, I downloaded the photoreal scenery from one of the familiar freeware websites and installed it. It might look good from 30,000 feet but at the 2,000 to 5,000 AGL altitudes I fly they just don't cut it. The 1 dimensional cities and towns look a lot like the patchwork quilt my mom made for my bed when I was a kid. And 1 dimensional airplane shapes painted on the tarmac don't even make a bump when you taxi over them. So I opened my wallet and bought the new Aerosoft Mallorca, Ibizia and Manorca…

Took a look at Google Earth the other day. This 3D scenery is so impressive it begs the question if it is possible to simply hook a simulator into it. Surely its been asked before but I find no threads at all...

I am just getting into photo scenery and have made some observations therefore questions.I am flying low and slow in Cessna.I have disabled UTX because I noticed bridges etc.I have Megascenery priority above all my add on airports etc.Do I need to disable landclass or anything else?Thank you,Ron

Should Megascenery sceneries of three different states go to bottom of add on scenery list? Does anybody know of any photoscenery covering all/most of Mexico? I see there are specific cities, but nothing nationwide. I did Google "Mexico Photoscenery" but didn't find anything. Many thanks, P.

Hello dear mods, thank you very much for your admirable work. And thank you for moving the PMDG-subforum to the forumsgroup "User-to-User Supports Forums". But now it's very hard to find the Photo Scenery Support Forum between all these commercial and User-to-User companies forums. I think the Photo Scenery Forum is much more important than the PMDG-subforum and therefor should stand on top of this group. I hope everybody would agree with me. I've searched, but unless I buy scenery for the whole of Greece, I can't find FSX HD Photoscenery for the island of Kefalonia. Incidentally, the FSX default island is a completely different shape to the real thing! Thank you.

Recently downloaded the latest versions of Oregon, Wash State, and Nevada (NV not used in this scenario) and did a short hop from FlightBeam KSFO to KSEA (SeattleX) in the PMDG 747-8 with P3Dv4.4. Had ASP4 enabled (with heavy clouds and weather most of the way) and UTLive. I swear I have hit the ultimate of flight simulation. The latest versions of MSE are absolutely stunning, frame rate friendly and it is now extremely enjoyable to fly over this scenery. Very clear with no blurries or stuttering (where you look out the side window and the landscape seems to lag). I honestly do not know how it can get better. I am running Megasceneryearth with P3d V4 and MSE has it's own folder on C:/ drive. I am planning on purchasing a 1TB SSD external drive to put my MSE and other non P3d files on. Can I just move the MSE files to the new drive, or do I have to reinstall them?

I purchased Atlantic City Airport by Fsxscenery through PCAviator.com. I can download and install it but FSX Steam Edition is not finding the files automatically. I can't see the files in the scenery library and I can't manually add them. I am running Windows 10, 64-bit on a fairly new desktop. Anybody offer some help? I am considering Megascenery Florida v3. The link shows some pretty decent coloring. Are the colors reasonable across the state? IF you own the v3 please comment. I am interested in this state cause there is autogens available for Flordia and Night environment is also available. I remember using photoscenery a few versions back and it was a blurry mess. But now it seems to be getting better. Although I am still getting blurries but they seem to be only out in the distance. Not sure why, because I have my TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP set to 8, so it should be sharp and crisp out in the distance as well. But nonetheless, much better than before. At least its somewhat usable now.

Good morning , I've stumbled across a program that displays Google Maps / Google Earth in a browser at the same angle / view point as through your aircraft's windscreen. I'm running P3d v4.1 and would LOVE to have this but just can't seem to find a version for P3d v4. Thank you to Robbie McElrath for the release of HttpX v.2.0 and EarthProxy v.1.2. Thanks also to Jeff Schallenberg and Roman Stoviak for assistance with testing. HttpX.dll v.2.0 provides full duplex read/write capability of Flight Simulator Variables and Events across the panel set each update cycle via http protocol. It accommodates number and string values from A: (read), C: (read/write), E: (read), L: (read/write), P:Variables (read) and K:Key Events (write). It does not read .MDL exclusive L:Vars.
