After hotfix 3(at least i think so, i never had this problem earlier). The autopilot sometimes goes into something that looks like a suicidal mode... It follows the route without problem for some time, today it was over an hour... but then all of a sudden it for no obvious reason what so ever it starts turning, in the beginning it turns slightly to the left, and then to the right again and then levels out...I thought that it might have been strange winds... but the winds was the same all the time, about 30 kts slight crosswind...But then after about a minute or to it starts to make a turn to the left again, and the turn becomes sharper and sharper, and after a while it go…

When using TOPCAT for take off calculations with the 800 the v speeds given by the FMC in the aircraft is about 10 knots faster than that given by TOPCAT. Anyone know why that is? Weights and temps is the same but the N1 limits are usually spot on the money. just wondering. FRED

Starting to work with the finer points of the NGX. The FMC computed a cruise speed of 0.80M, a tad too high for comfort, red bricks on the speed tape during both climb and cruise, etc. I reduced the speed through the MCP and then entered 0.78M through the CDU/CRZ for the longer-term cruise speed. Can anyone tell me on which performance parameters I should concentrate for correcting the problem ? Any other direction ? With the 400X, I never had to address this type of an issue so I am a bit puzzled. Thanks,Zach

Hello, I made a number of test-flights from Zurich (LSZH) to Amsterdam (EHAM), using the same flightplan everytime. Flights were during daytime, dusk, and night.All flights were carried out at a max. flightlevel of FL300.When I make the flight, using ASE real-time weather, the flight is good. the programmed VNAV path is followed exactly, and the 737 reaches FL300 very easy.However, when I make the sime fkight, without ASE, I run into serious trouble. Hello forum, It might be my lack of skill at manual landings, but i've done about 200 of them in the last 3 days and i've only had 1-2 proper landings through all these attempts... By proper i mean not floating half the runway after the flare and not bouncing on touchdown. No matter how hard i try, no matter how many different ways i try, i just cant make it right. A part of me refuses to believe it's supposed to be this hard IRL... Sometimes just the slightest bit of nose-up(1.5-2 degrees) right before touchdown, the plane wil stop sinking and will be float for another 2-3 seconds. Hello I am trying to learn how to properly conduct an RNP approach. The approach I am using is the KMIA 12 RNP. Using LNAV and VNAV I get the pink triangle and seem to intercept properly at GLRIA. From there it goes down hill rapidly. I cannot get the aircraft to descend and properly track the glide path. Does this approach require hand flying only or can it be done using all of the technology? Crossing GLRIA at 3000 I keep waiting for VNAV to start the descent down to 2000. I have my altitude set to 2000. Any help would be appreciated. If someone flies this approach I would be interested in how it was done. ThanksDon

I've been reading that some of you have been playing around with the maximum pre-rendered frames settings to get a smoother ride. I was wondering if increasing or decreasing that setting as improved the smoothness of your ride? I have mine set at 3 currently. I have 12gigs of ram, two nvidia 280 gtx cards, and 3.33 on the mhz. I would like to get a better feel of the NGX by just flying touch & go's and reasonable small patterns, just by hand. Is it necessary to program the FMC for that? Do you need to go through all the steps? I could imagine that you'd had to do at least some things for instance for getting the trim setting right. But of course this would then change for each single landing and following take-off. If you would be hand flying, there would hardly be any time to continuously reprogram the FMC ... Any suggestions? Thanks!

After several questions I posed yesterday and having received great anwers from several of you, I tried an IAN approach to MWCR (Grand Cayman) which only has VOR/DME or GPS in the NGX database. Since there is only scant info in the FCOM on this it was going to be a trial and error attempt at best. So let me detail what I learned. After ATC announced the runway in use and before my final arrival fix I selected the VOR/DME to Rwy 26 in the FMC with GS=ON and it put in a discontinuity between my final arrival fix and the initial approach fix that FMC would not allow me to close. I waited until I was almost upon the last arrival fix and changed FMC to direct to IAP and it …

The problem: During my climb passing 10,000' (VNAV/LNAV/CLB Thrust), the autopilot obviously pitches for it's climb speed without the 250kt restriction. The issue is that acceleration to the new FMC speed and climb are extremely slow. We're talking 200/400FPM and 1kt every 3 seconds. The workaround for now: I can simply open the FSUIPC menu, make no changes, and click cancel or OK and the NGX is instantly climbing and accelerating at "normal" rates. Programs used: ASE (direct wind control mode [the source of my problem?]). FSUIPC registered (No wind smoothing options). So when I'm setting my flight plan and I need to connect the legs, obviously I get the discontinuty, when I try to delete it, it keeps saying invalid delete and I cant connect my waypoints, what am I doing wrong here? Hello Everyone,. I have installed the product, however, when i start it up i only get a bitmap of the panelbut nothing happens, meaning, nothing is clickable and the product is not working at all. i reinstalled everything again but nothing happened - it's the same. when i go to the PMDG product on the upper right corner of FSX, only "About us" appears. I am having a problem with my mouse cursor in the VC only. It wants to remain an arrow no matter where I hover it. On occasions it will quickly "blink" into the correct form of a hand for dials or what-not but then it returns to the same arrow shape. If I open any of the pup-up panels the mouse will assume the proper shape for the dial/switch I hover over. So again this only happens in the VC. I have uninstalled and deleted all files I can find associated with the 737NGX and reinstalled it twice now. This problem only started a few days ago. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

I notice in the FCOM that when they discuss procedures for CAT II they show image of LAND 2 being annunciated on the PFD. It also states that only one CMD is required. I have experimented with different combinations of Nav radios (both on or only 1 on) and CMD's and I have yet to be able to have LAND 2 display on the annunciator. I understand the parameters of Cat II from RW but it seems counter-intuitive to me to believe that there wouldn't be more protections or redundancies built in for a Cat II setup than for Cat I. When I activate 2 navs and reach 1500 agl (with both CMD's ON) I get LAND 3 annunciated. When I try with just one CMD I get just 1 but never 2. I u…
