    I've noticed that there has been a few questions asked about approach and pattern procedures. This is just a quick guide that I hope will help some fly realistically. A close friend that I flew dc-10s with passed me some techniques for the NG. He currently flies C-40s.     Hi,Making a flight with the 900NGX, FL350. In the CRZ page I enter FL370 as a possible step climb. Initially the return answer is to make that climb in 842 nm. Sounds good.Then, the field turns blank and a couple of seconds later it says NOW.Don't think so because it also says that optimal FL is 346, max is 369....On the Progress page it then says that I should have stepclimbed -999273 nm miles ago...No matter the other values, this can never be correct.Has anybody seen this too?MennoEdit: I left the optional stepclimb in and just noticed the plane will indeed perform it.     Hi.I am wondering what aircraft weights PMDG uses (specifically 737-800). I compared PMDGs FCOM v1 and our company Flight Manual and several other sources (Boeing including) and looks like PMDG's 737-800 weights are not the same. TOPCAT uses almost same weights which we use in our company. For example Continental/United 738-800 Max Takeoff Weight 174,200 lbs and PMDG 737-800 155,500 lbs. It looks like PMDG 737-800 close to 700 version of RL airplane. I have checked all 800 versions at work today (old and new tails), we do not have any 800 airplane with MTOW 155,500 lbs. So where is the sweet spot?Thank you.

    Today I was approaching ILS rwy 19R at ENGM when I noticed that we are flying way too low. About 2 nm from the runway I was very close to crash into the trees while still flying with ILS app mode with autopilot on. The strange thing is that the PFD showed that i was at the right altitude but the ISFD showed way too low. The "below g/s" lamp also lighted up. I had both nav 1 and nav 2 receivers tuned in and I think that I only had CMD1 on. It felt very strange since I had perfect localizer align. Only the GS was strange. I have "service based failures" on. What do you guys think?Manfred

    Hi,During a flight (+- 2hours and half) the fuel temperature decreased at -3 degrees C.Problem : during descent and after landed the temperature is always at -3C.... I waited a long time with the plane parked but the temperature does not rise.NGX W 800 SP1Outside Temperature=15CWhen I reinstalled the plane I deleted all save, panel state files, deleted also all ref in fsx.cfg about the ngx.Someone from PMDG ?Thank you in advanceRegards,Richard Portier

    Hi All,Thought i'd put this one to the community before submitting a ticket to PMDG. I seem to be having a problem with the display on the HUG display whilst flying the NGX. I am running the FSX as admin with SP2 and SP1 on the PMDG NGX package with 600/700 also installed. Basically what is happening is that when I am dropping down the HUG there is a screen however no green lines like there used to be. This was happening before the SP1 so there cant be anything wrong with that. Let me know what you might think is the problem.Kind Regards.

    Hi guys,I'm having some trouble arming the autopilot before take-off. Sometimes LNAV/VNAV arms and other times it doesn't. This seems to happen if I'm flying two legs in a row without exiting the flight. Any ideas?Cheers.

    These were small flaws I found and thought I would share to see if anyone else has noticed them and whether or not they're on purpose. I don't mind these small flaws, but I hope they can be fixed with the possibly upcoming SP2.1. The 'NO V SPD' warning cannot be seen on the FO's ND in EFIS/MAP mode.2. The '------Z' and '---NM' indications on the top of the ND are misplaced in EFIS/MAP mode for both the captain and FO3.     Hi there,Got this problem since a week now, tried to solve it but i don't know how..The problem: After T/O, fuel level is rising in fuel tank 1 while tank 2 is not changing fuel level and the centre fuel tank is decreasing. This is not always strange but in this case: The fuel pump 1, 2 and centre are all on, and crossfeed is off! Normally, like any week before this week, fuel won't go from centre tank to tank 1 while all fuel pumps are on and the crossfeed is off!The first time this was happening I didn't even realise until I got the fuel inbalanced warning and I eventually made an emergency landing because I tought I had a fuel leak...! Anyone got a fix or am I doing so…

    Good evening universal time,I am told that PMDG 700 comes with 56-7B24 engines, can this be modified?My favourite airline had planes with either 22Ks or with 20Ks. Considering that TOPCAT uses 22Ks, would it be possible to chip the NGX engine? To be honest proper ground performance is quite a selling point for me, and I was very happy that the other vendor offered different ratings (even if their performance was... well, strange at times.)

    Before placing a support ticket, thought I'd post this issue here to see if anyone else experiences this or may know what the issue may be.The problem I'm having is during my climb, as I'm passing through FL300, my Indicated airspeed does not adjust automatically as the "barber pole" comes down the speed ticker tape and the Mach number increases. An example of this would be if my Climb speed is set to 315/0.793 and CRZ altitude of FL350, it will keep the speed bug indicator on my indicated speed of 315 all the way up to FL350. At that point though, 315 knots indicated is well within the Overspeed range (Barber pole). The system does adjust this speed to the Mach value …

  19. A support ticket has been already submitted Ticket Number 2B5-165B9C11-68DB but maybe someone else has been through this before. HGS worked fine when installed and after SP1 but since recently it would not display any information. Control box on center pedestal works fine, CLR button is not activated, brightness control checked, DLL.XML checked as per PMDG KB, uninstalled and reinstalled again, FSX.CFG checked... I cant think of anything else.. Anyone?

    I just saw Zach post something similar to what happened to me last night.Here's the scenario. I loaded the NGX up as KDFW for some low vis approaches at night. Everything started off fine but shortly into the flight the MCP panel went clear, as in I could see thru it to the outside. I entered the FMC and changed it from Collins to HW and it came back. Then one of the panels on the overhead did the same thing, it went clear and I could see thru the roof. That one I couldn't fix in flight.Next when I was on base the ETOPS sticker suddenly showed up even though I had ETOPS turned off in the FMC. However when I toggled it on and then off it went away.     So I was flying from EGLL to EGPF and then as I'm about to configure approach on app/dep page of the FMC I get an error saying something like 'invalid PIN' and after that point I couldn't select an approach at all!I don't have any of the hotfixes installed as I've never really had a problem..Wondered if anyone else has also had similar issues...Thanks

    Hello! No problem here just a question on what others think about the engine sound during cruise. I think the takeoff and climb sound are great. The grrrrrrr of the fan is very close to the real world sound. However i notice I get the same grrrr sound at fl370 with N1 around 88 percent. I was once told that you dont get the grrrrr sound at higher altitudes due to the less dense air. And from my experince in the jumpseat its almost all wind noise during cruise. Is there a way to decrease engine sound above a certain altitude but keep it as is for takeoff and climb?

    Post SP1 most gear sounds did not work. For shure no gear up/down, no snubber and no gear warning sound. Reïnstalling the NGX product and switching from onboard sound chip to my Xfx sound card did not resolve this.Suddenly i got it. Immediately upon installation of SP1 i changed to FSUIPC gear up/down commands instead of "gear toggle". While still in flight i changed it back to Gear toggle (G key) and from there gear related sounds were working again. So the NGX works well with the new commands, but the NGX sound system does not.

    Hello.I saw this mentioned a while ago but nothing recent and just would like to see if anybody else has this or if PMDG know about it:After making a go-around I don't get the "2500, 1000, 500" etc call-outs on successive approach attempts. Even after a successful full stop landing, if I then take-off and try to land again I still don't get the call-outs on any approaches after the first one. Just me?Thanks!
