  3. Hello friends,I've just done a flight from CYVR to CYCG, inspired in a video posted from the guys who are doing a great job with the touch down sounds. There was also a disscusion about whether that airport at Castlegar, BC has RNAV approach or not.Well, as (almost) everyone else, I also have those charts issued back in 2006 and it has an RNAV (GPS) A indeed, BUT it is not intended to follow it as it is, what I think is that it has been designed to take you to a MAP where you MUST have visual contact with RWY 15, then decide to turn back to preform an NDB approach or go back from where you departed (CYVR in this case)What I did was to perform a go-around at MAP on purpose…

Hi all,Just interested what possibly can be an engine out scenario immediately after takeoff after departing MHTG Toncontin. It is all surrounded by mountains, I am not sure if it's possible to simply climb out of the valley on a single engine. I think even the charts say it's all up the airlines to determine what procedure to be followed.I'd love to know what other people say on this, as I am gonna be doing a KATL-MHTG-KATL flight (DL849) using a 737-700 as Delta does in real life, and never know what my mood is gonna be, there might be an engine failure at Vr and I'd like to know how to deal with that:-)Charts for MHTG:http://vatca.net/files/mhtg.pdf

  5. Hi,during some of my many flights in NGX over the last few months i encountered something strange, which i now want to trace down whether it is some "fault" on my computer side, pilot error, bug or the way it is supposed to work.Parked at the gate, engines shut down, Engine 1 sometimes starts to rotate and i can hear on the outside some "beating" noise (not like the spooling up sound or other regular starting noises). Engine Start Switches are in the Off position and the Engine Fuel Switches in the Cutoff position. Engine Indications on the EICAS show Engine 1 N2 at around 24-25% and N1 around 1%. It seems not to affect Engine start up, except that i do not see N2 rise u…

I'm trying to wrap my head around the service based failures and have a few questions to ask for some help1) When selecting service based failures (ill abbreviate to SBF for simplicty) to on from the simulation menu in the FMC, it commands all 737NGX aircraft that i have installed to have SBF on? correct?2) Now say i want a particular aircraft to have SBF disabled, when i turn off SBF from the aircraft -> failures menu, it also changes the SBF setting in the simulation menu, thus affecting all other aircraft? is this correct?3)And finally, say I have SBF active and fly my SAS 737 and accumulate 20 hours on it as shown on the maintenance page. Then i fly the same aircra…

Problem in thread title. I was trying out the V1-Cut failure and discovered that it cuts the engine about 10 knots before V1.

  13. I don't normally have issues like this but since the 1C install I had issues with the visuals on the exterior of the 800WL so I decided to reinstall the SP which didnt help so I pulled both the 6/700 and 8/900 completely off and reinstalled but now I'm getting around only 17FPS on the exterior of the 700 and 800 with No AI traffic at FlyTampa's Midway if I can get it to load without FSX crashing to the dekstop. I used to get 30 FPS even on the flightdeck before now I get only 10-12FPS, does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this change, I have even tried only updating to 1b but it still is messed up there too now/

  14. One of my personal things in FS when it comes to addon aircraft is that i do a series of test flights and read the documentation before i do any actual flights. Then i pick an airline that flies that particular type, in this instance SAS, and do a delivery flight to their base before i do scheduled flights. Well tonight i did my first official 737ngx flight, KBFI-ESSA, and i just thought i would share the details for those interested. It was a total of 9 hours and 36 minutes, with an off time of 2203Z and on at 0739Z. FMC had me at first pegged at almost 10 hours on the dot with a cost index of 0 to maximize distance for the long flight. However over the atlantic the FMC …

Hello all. I am about to embark on a delivery flight from KBFI to ESSA, and when I try to input a cost index the fmc shows invalid entry? Never saw this before. Perhaps it has something to do with the length of the flight? Or that I have a completely empty aircraft? Any help would be appreciated Adam

  17. I am nearing the end of my around the world NGX 737-800 excursion which is indescribably fun!I've been meticulous about not only my procedures, and flying the aircraft correctly, but also in flight and fuel planning. I think that the backdrop of an around the world flight, landing in many different exotic (virtual) destinations is a great inspiration and learning boost that almost forces a person (or at least me :) ) to do everything right... I'm not exactly certain if I'm going a bit crazy or not, but I swear when I landed at Narita International in Japan at 3:00am in the morning the first thing I thought as the wheels touched down and the speedbrakes went up was, "God…

Hey guys,During this stressful week at school I promised myself that I would fly a WestJet "football" (-600) from YUL-YYZ then YYZ-YUL and back and fourth to get my NGX skills up and to help me survive this week. Anyways all has gone perfectly until today. I booted up my machine, set up my flight the usual way which is: -Load my plan through FSX, load the NGX then start RC4 and program my flight into that -Change the NGX panel to "Long Turn" -Follow FlyAOA's flows to assist me and my knowledge of setting up this beast for flight.I've followed their flows exactly as they are saved onto my tablet and I've successfully finished this flight more than 10 times already :)…

  19. Non NG, but wanted to share some views from my flight. Started out with a quick flight down to KMIA. Arrived yesterday on a hot afternoon.Interesting wing tip on this G-2. Can you spot 737s in the back ground?Plenty of jets at the FBO.Nice paint on this G550Right in the middle of discussing emergency procedures on the way home today, there was a flash and a pop!I snapped a quick pic. After requesting FL350 we departed FL410 and raised the cabin for a differential of 7.0.We cleaned up with the QRH and continued our discussion. After hours of boredom, you sometimes get a surprise.

  22. Hello,This is a really anal point, but one worth mentioning even if only for the comedy value. Also, I'm not even sure if it does it on the real NG - maybe it's just coincidence! When you set the course on the FO's side, it seems that the needle points about 60degrees right of the actual course set. The captains side works flawlessly.I'm taking a guess that they're both meant to work the same way, if not - ignore this. For those of you who are confused, I've posted a screenshot comparing the two.

Hi,I am just wondering if it is still necessary to set TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 under [GRAPHICS] in the fsx.cfg. It was recommended before SP1c I think. Now there is nothing to read about in the intruduction_manual.
