Today, I was trying to get a flight set up in the NGX, going from KEWR, to KSTL. The SID I was going to use involves entering VOR radials via the FIX page on the FMC. So I entered them in, and when those radials appeared on my displays, it caused a significant drop in my FPS. I could always not put in the radials..but that would hinder my realism experience.. :/ So can anybody help me out? Here are my specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.120401-1505) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gateway System Model: DX4300 BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: AMD Phenom I…

Hi everyone I have a problem with my flaps bieng stuck at 25degrees. At first i thought it was due to me approaching my 250hr mandatory service and the fact that i have auto failures on, but i have subsequently cleared that (applied the maintenance early) without avail. If i use alternate flaps i can get them up but the forward slats stay down and as soon as i close the alternate flaps protective swith ( i.e. disengage them) the flaps return to 25 deg. The flap leaver which is fully down does not budge, either with joystick or button commands. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Rory

  4. I rate this product 5 stars - "Must Have" (Budget Permitting)Recently I purchased the very fine Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog control surface pair and discovered a wonderful button-programming tool here on Avsim called "Linda". After playing around a bit, I managed to configure my Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle Quadrant and Joystick to handle an astounding number of tasks on my airplane of choice, the exquisite PMDG 737NGX (SP1c). Some months went by, and I realized that while the Warthog was handling a LOT of the control duties on the NGX, it still was weak in some areas, paticularly found myself constantly mouse-clicking on the VC (Virtual Cockpit) controls on screen to a…

Is anyone working to develop an iPad app that would connect to the NGX to mirror the CDU so I could read and program the FMC? I know there is specialized hardware out there, but it's pretty expensive and I'm willing to sacrifice realistic look to get the functionality Bill Rowe

  7. Well FSX is bad programmed. We all know that but i found it irritating that when everything is going fine then the sim would give me these stretched images like stutter and small pauses on approach just before landing. I believe i read somewhere that it has something to do with FSX memorybuffer so lowering grahics would help. So what are your experience to this killer and solutions ? Each time I autoland on on 21L, around 800-700ft, the AP drops out of AIII & hits the threshold hard. I said that I would ask here so... Anyway, that was one of the producers from FlyTampa and I think it is a PMDG problem.

Hi, I had my learning process with non functional autoland in the 738. Tuning both NAVs, course selector, established on G/S ... But by now I managed to get it working :D Now today I tryed to land the 736 at EDDF and it stayed at SINGLE CH until 500agl where it changed to NO AUTOLAND and then auto disconnected AP A + B. I have no idea why this happened. Any ideas?

Now as fad numbers is there any preformance data, that I can provide him So it can help him calculate preformance. Dose pmdg provide any of these information ? Thank Evan Banalian

I've noticed that in real world flights when the flight crew check the recall button the master caution light also lights up. In the NGX the Master caution only illuminates on recall if there is a problem and it should illuminate even if there isn't one when checking the recall button. WIll this be added in a future SP? Kind Regards, Dan

Hi all, Took the 737NGX for a spin the other day, and during approach I noticed the following happening. As I followed the approach, this one being fully automated, as I wanted to watch what happened, but the same thing has happened before flying an ILS approach manually too, with speed controlled by the autothrottle system. I noticed that as I slowed down using the speed control on the MCP panel, the autothrottle would reduce the engine power as expected, I would watch the speed drop to the speed selected. Then as the selected speed was passed the throttles wouldn't increase to build the speed back up again!.....................This usually occured at somewhere …

  15. I apologize if this has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer. Tutorial #2 states that in RL you should notify ground crew before you start engine and APU fire test. I was wondering about that statement and starting my 737 from cold & dark I noticed that radios won't work if you only have battery power supply (starting APU without ground power) therefore you can't activate FLT switch on ACP. So how do you notify the guys on the ground you're gonna test fire system if you don't have your radios on? My only guess would be using service interphone system. The FCOM vol. 2 states:

  16. Has anyone a fix for this annoying problem! :Waiting: The aircraft, can be the 600/700 or 800/900 variant makes no difference during the countdown at "3", the N1 increases to 40/45%, the aircraft then moves forward off its stand, and I have to apply the parking brake, quickly, to stop it crashing!!! Go to lower panel and manually set them back to idle. I think it might be a setting in the profile, but I am not sure, if anyone can tell me how to fix it will be appreciated by a grateful pilot. My flight control system is the X52 and not the X52 Pro, I hope I have explained the problem clearly. Thanks.

Hi Guys, I'm interested to know how you guys move around the cockpit, ie the transistion lets say from overhead panel to fmc and back to looking out of the window to mcp etc. What i currently do is use the HAT switch on my joystick and zoom in and out using the "+" and "-" keys on the keyboard, but I find this a bit of a faff and not the easiest. Also I can' t seem to pan up down left right either. Without spending a small fortune on trackIR or Ezdok is there an easier alternative, free or cheaper? Cheers Dan

Hey guys,Normally a topic like this would go in the Hardware or CTD forum, but in my case the CTD's only happen with the PMDG 737NGX. After a lot of trial and error, hardware replacements, reinstalls and reformats, I've run out of options and decided to bite the bullet and ask if anyone else has encountered CTD's involving ATC.DLL. In my case, only when flying the NGX, I'll hit an ATC.DLL app crash anywhere between 15 minutes to 3 hours into the cruise phase - and only the cruise phase.I can say without any reasonable doubt that this crash probably has nothing to do with the NGX itself - mostly because I've learned atc.dll crashes when FSX' encounters errors in displayin…

I have the NGX installed on my PC and apart from running out of RAM, I have 4GB DDR3, that results in a flight being terminated, I am very pleased with the NGX. It is awsome and far exceeds the original NG. I purchased the Aerosoft NGX and hoping to actually complete a flight before I obtained some more RAM, I decided to install the DVD onto a Lenovo laptop. All went well until I started FSX and selected the 800WL version sitting on a runway. It appeared to open up in the cold and dark state BUT the mouse cursor was now black and would not interact with any switch, knob, control etc, so I was completely frustrated. Also the joystick had no effect on the control wheel …

  20. Hi, I've a critical loss of frames when I try to undock PDF, ND and EICAS windows. I need to do it becouse I'm a cockpit builder and I need to undock these windows to another monitors, wich are controled by another graphical card. You can see it in this video: I've between 20 and 21 frames per second in the poor of conditions:, Under heavy scenerys and a lot off addons (Gobal, Ultimate Terrain, Ground Environment, Active Sky 2102...). It's a decent frame rate foor fly. Test is only with one graphical card and one monitor. It's normal this crytical loss of frame rate? Regards, Austin

I was wondering what type of flights people are doing on the wonderful PMDG NGX aircraft? Since I purchased by first PMDG product all those years ago (the first version of the Boeing 737-600/700/800/900) I must admit I have preferred the aircraft that can fly long haul (for example the PMDG Boeing 747-400 & PMDG MD11). I love to fly long haul services, and I do it all in real time – none of this accelerating flight sim time or anything. :Phbbbt: So am I the odd one out by preferring long haul? :Hypnotized: With the NGX aircraft the longest flight I have flown is BA132 from OEJN to EGLL, 2,636nm and I flew it in 6 hours and 24 minutes (the published flight …

  22. Hi all, Just been flying from nzaa to ybcg in the ngx-800. Sorted the approach(VORD 14) via the FMC. First thing that struck me is that according to the FMC, the runway heading is 149 degrees, whereas on the chart(below) and in the FSX world, it is 140 degrees. This put me off approach course. Any ideas? http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/pending/dap/BCGNB01-130.pdf

  24. Dear sir/madame, For school we have to make an Airport Master Plan to develop a whole new airport somewhere in The Netherlands. I'm studying 'Aviation Studies' at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences. To develop a runway, we need the main components like runway length and width with 'runway shoulders' eventually. We expect the Boeing 737-800/800W/BBJ2 (CFM56-7B Series) as biggest and heaviest operating airplane and our airport will be a low-cost one. But we are in trouble right now to calculate our needed runway length. We have for now a runway length of approximately 2400 meters but that is just a gues by taking a look at the other small l…

Does any one know how to program a Procedure Turn in the FMC route? For example, in a flight from KLAS (25L) to KRNO (16R), coming in from the south through the TARVR1 approach, the ILS RWY 16R IAP includes a required Procedure Turn. The FMC approach allows the selection of the runway (ILS 16R) and the TARVR1 approach, but there is a discontinuity between the end of the TARVR1 approach and the start of the ILS approach.
