PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Hello PMDG J4100 fans, I have the following question: according to the manuals, the climb speed for the PMDG J4100 is 170 kts, and no less. Problem is, when passing say 16/18000 ft, and flying into thinner air, if I keep IAS 170 knots, the J4100 climbs ever slower, until it barely keeps 100/200 fpm climb, and at that rate if you want to climb to say 22/23,000 ft it would take forever. Only solution I use is to allow a lower climb speed, like 160 kt or 150 kt, this way getting a reasonable climb gradient. Whilst I agree this sim is an excellent rendition of the real thing I have one major issue that I have spent over a day trying to solve regarding the cockpit condition on sim loading. If I close my PC and start FSX from scratch then load the J41 tutorial flight I get a cockpit that is truly cold and dark which responds to the instructions of the tutorial. However if I try to move the aircraft to a different location or change the aircraft to a liveried type all kinds of weird things happen! Most importantly switches like the battery masters and GPU show me they are ON when I hover my mouse over them but they never light up! The avionics masters show as on but don't sw…

Hi to all,first let me know what an amazing plane,but after install and read carefully the tutorial,i have two little "issues": First:Is the transponder mode linked to IVAP client???,I mean when setting in the radio panel on the JS4100 is supposed to set on ivap un mode "C"???,i can´t. Second:After set the route on FMC/MCDU and select the arc/map mode and LNAV in both sides i can see the route displayed on navigation display,but i can´t see the fix names on the route until airborne,is this normal???. So is there some special button that makes the aircraft able to turn after you've flown with the autopilot on? I've disengaged everything, and the only thing I was allowed to do was raise and lower the yoke. Did I forget something?

Just a heads up that fixed issue for me . . . . Due to the fact I have a register FSUIPC and deleted a lot of view commands in FSX, so that when I wanted "Ramp Manager" it would not come up for the life of me. I took a shot in the dark because I could not find any resolution in the forum and re-assigned a button in FSX. Once in FSX/settings/button and keys/views, re-assign "Panel window 2 (display/hide)" for shift + 2 and it should work . . . for me it did. Not trying to resolve everyones issue, but just wanted to share my issue.

Hi to all again,i had discovered two more issues and i want to crosscheck if anybody is suffering this error too. When selecting a dawn setting(time) in FSX time the FCS pop-up panel sees like this,with or without lights,setting day or dusk and night the panel sees ok with or without cockpit lights. And if i go to copilot panel and select panel flood light to on the selector for VOR2/NDB2/LNAV2 doesn´t work visually(rotating). Very dissapointed with this. Alex.

Hello, I have recently done a FSX re-install .and JS4100 re-install plus SP1 The problem is that some of the displays are blank - some have the wrong data in the wrong place ( i.e altimeter seems to be wrongly put into the main info panel - above the yoke). Engine data panel shows only dial outline no data - FMS seems dead. Co-pilot side Radio panel & FMS have wrong dials showing. It's all very odd. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue, I have had this prop airplane for quite sometime without any major issues, but recently my throttle and condition levers do not move, its like they are frozen in one position, they do not work with the throttle or the mouse, sometimes the flaps will work but most of the time they drop to 9 degrees and stop moving up or down, I have done several clean uninstalls, unplugged all joysticks from the computer except for the mouse, did a registry scan and checked the settings in controls which works just fine with other pmdg airplanes such as the pmdg 737ngx,......nothing seems to work I tried, I ruled out the yoke and t…

So I've decided to return to flight simming after a few years, and of course I'm in the middle of re-installing every single PMDG aircraft I have purchased in the past. So far I've managed to find checklist for the MD11 and 737NGX but I don't seem to be able to find one for the J41? Thanks in advance

Hello all, I've uninstalled NGX and JS4100 liveries IAW http://forum.avsim.net/topic/446633-things-you-should-do-before-installing-777-sp1-read-this/ However, there doesn't appear to be a place to redownload the bare metal livery that came with the JS4100. Does anyone know where I can get it, or do I have to reinstall to return it? Thanks.

JS4100 empty weight. FSX (aircraft.cfg) uses an empty weight of 14144 LBS and that shows up in the FSX fuel / payload screen. Hello, Hope someone can help. I have recently done a full re-install of FSX. I have re-installed the JS4100 with no problems. However, when I have attempted to re-load the livery that I want (BA ribbons) It does not appear anywhere within FSX Aircraft (only the 'PMDG' version is showing). I have tried using the original Jetstream disc to do this (modify etc) - as well as downloading the livery from the PMDG web page, but nothing seems to work I can see the actual livery I have downloaded in the FSX PMDG JS4100 folder - even if I click on it. it activates but doesn't seem to go anywhere. It simply doesn't appear within FSX Aircraft icons. It' so frustrating…

How can I save a panel state on a JS41 ??

All, Was wondering if anyone has or has had an issue with the batteries no longer functioning or running the avionics. This is a fresh install of FSX and the PMDG JS141, when starting a new flight and turning the engines off, everything dies. Have to use ground power to keep the avionics going. Same thing with starting from Cold & Dark, have to activate the ground power unit to do my pre-flight. Granted in am now using WIN 8.1 x64, however I did have this same issue with Windows 7 x64. (Note that other than this issue, the full line of PMDG works great under Windows 8.1 x64). Am using FSUPC with the batter option on for unlimited, FSUIPC is required for FS…

The original livery is actually a Saab 340B, but since I don't have one of those, I've painted the Jetstream 41 in its colors. They also use the Beechcraft 1900D, but that will be my next livery to paint in Silver Airways colors. Unfortunately I no longer fly the PMDG B1900D, so I will be painting the Carenado instead. Any way, here is my rendition of the Silver Airways livery. This is not photo layer, I actually painted it by hand.

<S!>All, Been avid PMDG fan since FS9 NG series. Recently decided to get out of the NGX for a bit and try the turbo J41. Cannot get it to install and load, dies at the loading bar for the situation that comes with it after a click sound. I have completely removed FSX twice and cleared with Fixit Utility. So FSX SP2 Clean and new install of J41 twice. I was running PMDG NGX, GEX, UTX, RAAS, FS2Crew with no issues. Strange issue is I got the activation for the J41 only once on the initial install, where as FSX was every install? The redistributables for C++ were installed. I have down loaded the J41 install twice also in case of a corrupt file. Any ideas welcome…

From the T7 blurb: Includes the new PMDG Operation Center, a stand-alone application which manages livery downloads and installations, livery options settings, documentation, support and much more. The OC also supports the PMDG Jetstream 4100 and PMDG 737NGX. Will this be available as a separate download for JS4100 owners?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered thousands of years ago, but.......how do I increase the volume of ATC in the JS41 VC? I have tried lowering the engine sound volume (and also the cockpit volume), but nothing seems to make any difference. I can hear ATC just fine in the 737NGX VC, but the JS41 is proving to be a problem. There is quite a loud "hissing" noise in the VC. Is this associated with the engines, or something else? Lowering the volume of the engines (or anything else for that matter) doesn't seem to affect it, so how do I correct that?

So here is the deal! I took a flight from KSLC to KSJC, before take off I loaded all the departure legs and took off without issue, then about 70nm from my destination I missed my aproach, so I Erase the flight plan from the FMC to load new legs (at this point the Autopilot is being controled by heading). As soon as I finished loading the aproach BRITNY1 into the FMC then FSX CTD. The error I don't have it but it showed that it was related to the JS41. Any ideas? Thanks.
