PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

After landing with the spoilers armed, I engage reverse thrust... slow down to a reasonable speed (around 70 knots) and return the power levers to idle. To my knowledge, once you advance the throttles in a commercial jet, like the B747, the spoilers retract themselves automatically. I tried that here and the spoiler light was still illuminated (green) I also checked out the spot view and same deal, the spoilers were still up, even after advancing the throttles back up a bit. Returning the control levers to TAXI didn't help either, although, I know you have to do it anyway! (I follow my checklists thoroughly :( )I know the J41 can't extend the speed brakes while in flight…

Hi, My name's Robbie and I'm a new member to the forum (well, was a previous forum member years ago before Avsim was hacked). I've been simming for years on and off and have several PMDG products, but I have a slight problem with the PMDG Jetstream aircraft. After installing and inserting the license key upon FSX launch, I get the following error message: "License initialization failed" So, I uninstalled the aircraft and reinstalled it. The sim did not even give me a chance to enter the key again and it showed me this error message again. Could anybody from PMDG help? Their new support system is slightly confusing. Cheers, Robbie

Downloaded the JS4100 the other night and began my tedious ways through the tutorial, manuals and so-forth. After blowing a couple engines on Martha's Vineyard, I finally lifted off and headed for JFK... Now that I understand how to use correctly go through the starup up procedures, use the autopilot, and control the A/C, its a blast to fly! Made a complete ILS 31R appraoch and landed like a dream... super product... Now if I could just figure out the FMC and control that.... Jim

Hi, Just purchased the J41. I have Saitek rudder pedals are not working correctly, when I operate them the pedals in the plane just shake up and down. I have checked in settings and they are correctly assigned. I do not have any duplicated controls. Starngely, if I load the J41 midflight (as in changing the aircraft to the j41 within a saved flight the rudder works perfectly). So, could it be that this is due to a startup procedure setting that I am missing? Ideas appreciated as I cant do anything with this fine plane yet. Regards Tim

Its been a while since I've flown my JS4100. I was surprised when I was unable to turn the aircraft on the ground with my rudder pedals. Is this normal behaviour? My calibration works, so it's not a hardware or driver issue.

Hey guys I just purchased and installed the J4100. Upon loading I was asked to register, which I did. I got a success message and then FSX crashed. Now every time I try to load a J41 plane my FSX CTDs. What's happening? Robert

I'm using method 1 as described op page 86 in the Pilot's Tutorial. During the descent the rate of descent and airspeed is changing constantly. It is causing an uncontrollable up and down movement of the aircraft and the only way to stop this, is disconnecting the autopilot and fly the aircraft manually. Cruising level: FL160 Target level: 2000ft IAS: 240kts Initial rate of descent approx: 1000ft/min The problem starts (slowly) below FL100 and is getting severe below FL60 Is there a way to avoid this, did I overlook something in the manual?

Hello, When I power up the plane with the GPU and after that avionics ON, there is no info on both the displays. When the 'align time' is over a green arrow appears in the lower display, but still no info. Leaving the avionics off till after start of the engines; no effect either Anyone any clue? Grz. Paul

Hi All, Purchased the JS41 several years ago but never had time to tinker with it, I have been trying to go through the bundled tutorial and don't seem to be able to activate the ground power cart, when I open ramp manager the cart is displayed in red from what the documentation says clicking on the cart should activate it but this does not seem to occur. Most likely I have missed something obvious but if someone can point me in the right direction I'd be appreciative. Thanks.. William Heaney.

I bought this model the day it was released and have never really flown it like it was meant to be flown. With RL and time constraints I just got bored every time I tried to wrap my head around it. Now that I'm retired and have unlimited time, I trying to force myself to learn how this plane needs to be flown. I've managed to get it up and flying and even managed to do an ILS landing. Problem is, I've been using the heading function and when near the destination, call on the ATC to vector me to final approach. I'm having a lot of trouble working with the FMC/FMS inputting the required info which I'm sure I'll figure out, I think I got a grip on that a few years ago and h…

Hi PMDG, I am 200% sure that there are more pressing Projects that you are working on. However, would you ever deliver a SP2 for the truly delightful JS41? It is one if the most fun aircrafts I have purchased and is just a joy to fly. For example , cutting out the electrics on p/s with out engines being on?

I've seen mention of an SP2 for the JS41 but I only see the SP1 from 2009 on the PMDG site. Is there an SP2 or is that just a nasty rumor?

PMDG-B1900D Panel setup for Reality XP Maybe someone who has done the setup can answer a couple questions. I got the RealityXP 530WAAS Garmin and the Reality weather radar into the PMDG B1900D VC cockpit panel (and 2D cockpit). For me, it is easier to enter flight plans etc with the RealityXP 530WAAS in a 2D view. So, is it possible to get the click spot on the RealityXP 530WAAS Garmin's screen to pop-up a 2D view while in the VC cockpit? One thing I noticed is when the RealityXP 530WAAS is initializing it will display the glideslope needles on the HSI ok but the CRS needle always stays in the same position. Good evening all! I'm fairly new to the JS41 and I love it. (Wish there was an E-120 in the works ) I have a question about push back and engine start. On the panel it says pushback prohibited with engines running. Well, I load and prepare my flight in the FMC prior to starting the engines. I use the GPU. Now obviously I can't push back with the GPU connected or with an engine running, but if I were to push back, disconnect from the tug (using GSX) then do a battery start, I'd lose my flight plan when turning the FMC back on. Is there a way to avoid that, I'm aiming for realism and I don't want to start one engine then push back when it says I can't . …

Has anyone been able to get the Go Flight GF-MCP to work with the JS41? I can't get the Alt Select or the Heading knobs assigned. Does anyone know a keyboard assignment? Thanks for any help!!

Hi everybody I just bought the JS4100 and the neu 777. The Boeing runs fine with no problems. The JS4100 installed and was activated - but It just doesn't load. My FSX crashes every time. I have no major problems with any other of my many FSX products and add-ons - so my settings seem to be fine. And PMDG was always a good buy. I posted two support tickets regarding this problem. But to my amazement, I am not getting any response?! Can anyone help? If I still get no ticket or forum response, is there any other way to get in touch with PMDG ? :unsure: thx Robert Simms

Hello everyone I was hoping someone could help me out. After downloading the amazing PMDG beech 1900D I was hoping to find a livery of a local airline, but to my disappointment there were none. I therefore ask, please could someone make a Cemair livery for this plane? Its very simple, and I would do it myself, but I have no experience at all in this field. Any help would be appreciated. When I try to enter valid airports such as essa or esnu, nothing happen when i press enter to retrieve its coordinates, any suggestions on solutions? (I also tried KLAX and that worked). Hi there, I'm fairly new to FSX PMDG airplanes and to the AVSIM forums. I ran into a problem while trying to fly with the Jetstream 4100 from PMDG. The flaps are always stuk to 9 degrees. When I try to change them I keep hearing 'Flaps nine'. After takeoff I still can't set my flaps. I hope anyone can help me

Frustrated Just got new Jetstream 4100 ( PMDG ) , can not get it to install FLT SIM X Have all PMDG planes and never this prob. running win-7 , GE-fORCE 460'S computer is built of flight sim I install the 4100 , get to FREE FLT in flt sim X , see plane in aircraft selection , select it , flt sim brings it up for about 10 sec's then screen goes white , then flt sim tries to re- boot flt sim I'm very familiar w/ flt sim , never have this issue flt sim run's ok with this plane installed , all system's work just fine , no error codes tried closing virus program , uninstall several times , I'm at a loss Have contacted PMDG and not answer from them yet on how to fix. …
