PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Hello everyone, I have been studying the Jetstream for a few weeks, AOM, Introduction, Tutorial, still there is that button, LNAV, that I do not understand. When I fly to intercept a VOR radial for example on an airway, I press V/L, enter the correct frequency in the RMU, and set the desired radial through the CRS button. Then I press NAV on the autopilot, and the aircraft turns to intercept it. The LNAV button, instead, is a mistery to me. When and why do you activate it? When I push the LNAV button while in flight tracking a VOR radial, nothing seems to happen. I would appreciate if anyone can help me understand the use of that LNAV button. Hi, I just bought and installed the latest Navigraph AIRAC cycle for the PMDG aircraft. Upon turning on the J4100 FMS, the Initialization page still reads: DATE 22 AUG 09. I expected to read:the new date, like 22 May 12, or something. Is this correct? Is it possible my Jetstream FMS has not been updated? Enrico

Hi, my name is Kagounard. As we're planning a world tour with friends, one of them asked me a livery of Air Moldova fir his J41. I did it, and then, after putting it in .dds, the texture is really bad, looks unorganized. When I flip it vertically, it isn't ok, and texture is screwed up again. Thank you for your help

Hi, I do hope this has not been answered, I have looked but did not see it. Proper setup, fuel, loading ect. Done. Startup goes normal. taxi out to the runway... no config alarms, Caution panel all good. bring it out of taxi to flight. push the throttles up, the plane just sits there and runs fine with these eng panel readings. Both Eng's are the same. Torque-33.8 EGT-430 RPM-99.8 FF/FU-47.2 What is wrong or more importantly how do I fix it without reseting the whole thing and starting over? Thanks

Guys, I have a good machine and can run PMDG 737NGX and PMDG747X and LEVEL-D 767 and Quality Wings RJ100 at 30FPS without any problems at EGKK with UK2000 Xtreme Scenery for EGKK. But as soon as I load JS41 I get micro stuttering even if I switch to the cockpit without VC panels. I have moved down the sliders in the setup control panel for JS41 but it makes no difference. Anyone shed any light on this would be great, I also get the same if I move to EGLC where I have the XTREME UK2000. i7-3770K at 3.5ghz. Windows 7 64Bit 16GB memory SSD drive GTX680 Nvidia Other addons are GXS and FS2Crew.

Hi I'm using the B1900C in FSX/DX-10, where it works really well apart from a few glitches. Most importantly, turning on the panel lights at night (with L key, can't find a switch) has only a slight effect with a few instruments getting slightly lighter. I've seen pictures of a lit VC panel, probably in FS9. I will try it in DX-9 when I get chance, but in the hope that it's a known problem - any suggestions? Is there a panel reference doc anywhere? Any good B1900 resources? Thanks Keith

That is one aircraft that defanitly needs PMDG's touch, it seems no one is working on one, and that would be an awesome aircraft to fly.

I purchased the PMDG JS4100 last year, but due to work commitments it's only now that I can make a serious start with it. I've already read the Introduction and Overview manual, which was enough to cover my keyboard in drool B) . But now, what next ? I like to do things properly, rather than jump in and get frustrated. Should I read the entire Flight Operations Manual - which will obviously take some time - before even attempting the tutorial ? I'm not a newcomer to turboprops, having spent many VATSIM hours in the PMDG Beech 1900D, but this is obviously a whole new ballgame. What have others found the best way to come to grips with the JS4100 ?

Hi I have been flying the J41 a few times recently and it just seams a bit Buggy. Like one flight Ill have no probs getting the engines started and the next flight i can only get 1 or no engines going and also if i go to map view then back to the VC I get Lines Flashing on the screen! I just wanted to Know if There are plans to do a SP2 in the Future???? Cheers Jason

G'Day everyone Thought this was an interesting way of tracking to an airport! I just did a quick flight in the J41, setup a flight between Canberra direct to Tamworth at FL160. I use Active Sky Evolution. Once I departed, I engaged the autopilot to intercept the track and off I went (using LNAV on the EHSI and NAV on the autopilot). During the cruise, I was doing some other things on the computer, and came back to notice the DME and VOR indicating I was well to the west of the desired track. Opened the map which confirmed the weird deviation. The wind was 060/15. Anyone seen this before? Not overly fussed, just though some might get a laugh at this.

I was trying to load the JS4100 and recently I have had htis problem: The large square on the left is what the issue is, It flashes and it generally pops up on all portions of the panel only. Any ideas? Thank you

Hi I am interested by the aircraft and therefore have some question: 1 I need a aircraft about 50% the size of PMDG 737NGX. B737 is big aircraft and take time to perferm a good landing. The JS4100 is half the size of b7737 but is the aircraft easy to fly and land? 2 Can I unlocked the instrument and drag it into a second monitor? (My cockpit is about 2.5m away from the fsx monitorn!) 3 Can I control the functions through FSUIPC accept through LINDA? (Link a function to leobodnar cards?) 4 Is that able to buy the aircraft and get a refund in somewhere? Best Fredriik

Guys, I can't for the life of me think why this is happening, today I flew from EGLC to EGHI, then landed, shut down engines, De-Boarding the Boarding, push back, then start left engine, it spooled up and fired then when the starter cut out it shut down, I tried the right engine and that fired up fine, then left and that fired up fine. What am I doing wrong?

ILS freq for rnwy 22 is 110.5. JS41 data base doesen't recognize it. plane turns the other way. all other acrft have no problem using stock planes. do I need to update js41 approach & Stars data base..... where do i do that if thats the problem. appreciate any help with this. fyi: have landed at other airports with no issues w/js41

In light of the positive reviews on the Q400, do you folks think that this hobby will do well with an ATR 42/72-600? Even better if PMDG created it? PMDG has a reputation of creating some of the best add-ons out there but what do you folks think? Note: Please keep this about Turbo Props

Hi I have just re-installed the J41 as the FMC is not working. When i power the fmc on only a yellow rectangle shows up i dont know if its a fonts problem. any one had the same problems?? Here is a screenshot. Any advise would be Great! Cheers Jason Richards

Recently bought the J41 and to me it's a pretty challenging little plane that keeps me off the street and out of bed, but I think I am making (a little) progress. When I am powering up the plane (strictly according to the book) and bringng the avionics on line I am experiencing a high pitched noise the instant the avionics are activated. I was wondering if this is normal. Anyway I haven't been able to get rid of it; the mute button only works for the dings and dongs during the power up but not for this sound. I have searched the forum for this and related topics but couldn't find any. Hope anyone can help me out. Thanks BuckDanny

Sometimes when I load the J41 I can only move one throttle at a time. If I push the left handle forward (either with the mouse or with my yoke then the right won't go forward. If I push the right handle forward, the left won't go forward. FSUIPC says all is well. None of my other aircraft are having any problem. Anybody else have this problem and find a solution? Thanks.

Hi, its 130am and im not in a good mood....after finally deciding on my next aircraft I go to PMDG and buy my 4th aircraft from them, the J41. Download fine install as admin fine email with activation key - fine load up fsx - fine agree to dlls - fine choose aircraft js41 - fine please activate - NOPE put in the key and .......wait...wait.,.. task manager says FSX not responding wait 30 secs then box comes up again with same message ..this is a never ending cycle - no error message if i leave field blank i get error saying PLEASE enter key if i click cancel says UNLICENSED Copy (not true) wont perform as expected (that parts already true) key…

Has anyone else noticed the Ground Speed indication on this aircraft is very sluggish in operation while taxying. When taxying I normally have Aivlasoft's EFB running for taxiway identification etc. also this displays the aircrafts Ground Speed. I have noticed during taxying as I speed up the JS41 GS Indicator in the Nav Display lags quite badly behind my actual speed. Sometimes I could be taxying at 20 kts but the indicator is only showing 6 kts but slowly increasing. Another thing I noticed was when I slowed down to about 10 kts to turn a corner, during the turn the indicator temporarily displayed dashes. I don't know if this is by design, I haven't seen this…

Hi I know the FMC in this aircraft is no way near as sophisticated as the NGX, but I'm having problems when loading the SID for departure. I update the AIRAC from Navigraph each month and if I load a route and SID in the NGX its fine with no or very few errors. However if I load the same route and SID in the JS41 FMC, very often there are odd waypoints added or even the same waypoint added two or three times. Also waypoint identification is different from the real world charts so its hard to know which waypoints need deleting or amending. As this seems such a mess I usually just try and fly the SID manually if its got radio beacons for guidance. Has any…
