Hello,I have reworked my LUA Script for the PMDG J41.There are some new features:- some new functions implemented, e.g. ice switches (except eng ice), all lights (including ice obs and consp lights)- all switches have their sounds now- all switches are animated (e.g. ALT)- all functions are in this LUA now - you don't need an additional Macro file! and the best feature:MCP Combo Users (using the FSUIPC VRInsight Mod) have now a synchosized Autopilot Display, means the values of the J41 Display are now also visible on the MCP Display!All credits go to Word Not Allowed!!!(sometimes HDG or ALT is 1 degree or 100ft wrong, but all in all it works very good!Maybe ist working …

I'd like to report a problem that I've had when trying to activate the J41 on FSX-se on the past week and a possible solution that, although obvious once you start investigating, may not be so plain simple for everybody. Also, this is a suggestion of a topic to be added to PMDG Knowledge Base on the Support Portal, since this may be a recurrent problem. - Problem: I'm running a FSX-SE only install and was unable to activate the J41 because of a missing SimConnect version. Hi all, I've recently started flying the J41 again and did the tutorial flight to get back into things which went smoothly. I have made my own flows based on the tutorial but after I have started the engines and turned the avionics switches back on, the FMC remains off. When I turn it on, the route I have entered AND the cruise altitude figure entered on the VNAV Data page have disappeared. I can't work out what i'm doing wrong to cause this to happen? I am loading the tutorial saved flight and then re positioning the aircraft so that it is in a cold and dark state - is that something to do with it maybe? Thanks

I'm cruising at 21000 feet in my JS41, the passengers are fed and watered and all is well. When fspax decides to throw a spanner in the works or engine as it happens. Red warning light and right engine high oil temp annunciator is lit. I figured the best option was to reduce no.2 and increase no.1 , until it cooled down. How wrong was I. No.1 shut itself down and my initial thoughts were on the lines of 'oh dear' or something similar. I feathered no.1 happily pleased with myself that I hadn't done the same to no.2. Hey guys I've read the tutorial (1200 lbs 1st hour, 1000 lbs. per hour after that, then 800 lbs reserve). This has worked fine for me until today. I ran into some weather at altitude today. It increased my flight time from 1.5 (normally for this route) hours to 2.0 hours. I had to eat into my reserves, and I got in trouble (FSPax lol) for not landing with enough fuel (29 mins of reserve instead of 45mins). At any rate my question is, when deciding how much fuel to put into the aircraft how does one account for weather like that? Is there a formula like x times headwind/ flight time or something? Or do pilots and airlines just add extra from the hip? Or is 80…

hey guys First thanks for all the help on here. I've been spamming the forums and getting a lot of great help! However I find myself coming to the well again lol. It's a little to well known fact that fsx' weather is buggy as heck. One of the classic problems is ridiculous temperatures at high altitudes +30 degrees Celsius at fl250 for example. This of course causes a world of engine problems and "unfair" stalls. I realized though today as I was flying at 16000 feet in the j41, that I was getting just terrible climb performance, so I immediately looked at the sat. But the problem is, I'm not really sure what is unreasonable temps for that altitude.…

Some sort of find the center line assist tool lol? I got this today during a flight. I couldn't seem to get rid of it (I didn't try reloading as it was mid-flight and I was using FSPassengers. Anyone else seen this? Know how to get rid of it?

Hi fellow js4100 simmers. Is there any way of adjusting the load sheet to show more than 20 passengers. It seems to only allow 2 per row rather than 3. My only reason for this is because I'm using fspax and the numbers don't add up. I'm flying the bmi version but have tried the default liveries. All the best Roy

So on the J41, the FMS and the Autopilot controls are pop-ups, you click on them and get a little 2d version that moves with the VC camera. This is a good thing! These two instruments are useful and its nice to have them full time. Due to quirks of this aircraft, another gauge that I am constantly zooming in to look at (and therefore not looking out the windshield) is the EIS. The engines have to be watched carefully during all phases of flight (except cruise maybe). Of course you all know this so I am preaching to the choir. I'd like to know from someone with maybe some RL experience, or even just someone who knows more than me (so pretty much anyone lol). If the engine noise in the j41 is really as loud as in FSX? With all sound sliders at 50% (fsx default), it truly is deafening. I can't barely hear atc, and I can't hear fspassengers voices at all. I know I can't just move the engine slider down, but then I get that annoying clicking from the altimeter needle (which I can't seem to quiet with any slider), plus it doesn't seem realistic to just turn it down.

This is more of a general aviation question than a J41 specific one, but where better to find good sim pilots than PMDG customers? Ok, when I am flying ILS approaches (the last example was 35L at KDFW if that matters) the localizer seems to take me left of the center line. Now I don't know if it is actually doing the right thing, and from the time I disengage the AP until touchdown I drift slightly left, or if the ILS course heading is different in real life than FSX, or if I'm waiting to long to disengage autopilot so I can't correct (should I have to though?). Which leads to my first question. At what point on a ILS approach should the auto pilot be disengaged…

So I just bought a few credits from Navigraph to update my FMS after reading some old threads here about where to get the updates. I have setup the Navigraph FMS Data Manager. FMS Data Manager did not find the J41 in the scan so I am adding it manually via the "Addons Mapping" /"+Add" My FSX location is correct in the settings, My PMDG folder is selected...? guess that's right. Do I place it: G:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\Navdata And how do I check the FMS to make sure is is now updated? Thanks! Robert Hollis

Hey everyone, In the first 20 minutes of owning this aircraft, i was figuring out how I was going to try and get my money back with the 90 day warranty in the EULA. Not because the plane was too difficult to use, or startup, in fact the documentation and tutorial was very well written. The problems was that for some reason, on the first launch in FSX, the click boxes were impossible to find, even sitting still and zoomed all the way in. It took 40 minutes to get the battery switch turned on!. My cursor would turn into a hand, and I would click, nothing, right click, nothing (except that annoying view menu it summons). Hey all, The start lock horror stories are scaring me a bit. If I understand it correctly, you have to engage them at shutdown, or the engines will ker-splode at the next startup? Assume you are starting the thing up in the morning, how can you tell if the guy last night engaged them or not? What the heck do you do if they weren't engaged? Is the plane just unflyable? What if you're in a brand new one? Does the factory engage them before it leaves the assembly line? I don't own the plane yet, so there may be some obvious answer that i don't know about.

When I load the J-41000, neither the EADI, nor the EHSI loads complete. There are no numbers or letters, and when I try to ajust the altitude or the v speeds, the EADI stay blank. On the EHSI it is impossible to follow the aligning time without the numbers. I do not know what to do. I need some help. Tom

Hi, Are there any time lines for release of this product on the p3d platform? Also, will you be addressing some of the bugs in the fsx version or will it be a straight port over?.

I'm curious to know, and I try searching the forum for a previous answer but didn't find any. My J41 fly's fine, and I've been very happy with it. The problem I'm having is that my toe pedals constantly shakes back and forth rapidly, and it's annoying. To help with an answer, I use FSX with EZdok and a paid version of FSUIPC. My joystick is an Extreme 3D Pro, which I'm not having any issue with any of my other payware or stock aircrafts, including the PMDG NGX. Your help will be appreciated.

I have a issue with the J41 fmc. When I am initializing and choosing waypoints some are found in the database and some are not. Does anyone know how this can be and where I can look to debug this. I have airac 1407 I tried a couple: It can find: KLAX, EDFH, It cannot find: ESSA, EFVA, EFHK, ESNU. Has anyone come across this before?

Maybe I hope someone knows how to get my spoilers to operate, no green comes on dash when reversing engines upon landing and I have switch on dash the switch to the up position to arm them ?

Hello ! Does anybody know how to change the original GPWS callouts ? I'd like to replace the PMDG audio files by some personal others. Already done that with other plane without any problem but here, I found nothing on the sound.cfg. An idea ? Thank you very much for the appreciated help. Kind regards
