PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

With yet another pmdg install, this has happened 3 times in a row: - my failures are off (both fsx and pmdg) photo 1, is with just as2012 installed, but had not been started(wasn't running) somehow my nav disengaged and is struggles to stay in cruise(despite being above my alt in one pic) Photo 2 is with it doing it again, but the photo is with active sky just been run, and then my egt went down. Any ideas?

I am in the process of backing up all my installers and codes to an archive. On the PMDG order page for the NGX and the J41 I find their code sbut on the MD11 order there is no code visible. Anyone know if I am looking on the wrong place? Cheers,

Hello, I had an interesting event take place, I was on final 28L at KSFO, had the approach/land engaged and it said Dual Land however no flare? I had flaps at 28 and about 165kts. The GPWS alerted me and I disengaged autopilot, flaring manually but I've never had that happen to me before. I did dial the flaps at the last minute instead of resetting them after setting 22 for take off. Think this could be it? my landing weight may have been a bit over too. I also updated the Mag Dev to 2010 recently. Let me know what you think thanks, Nate

Hello everyone, as the topic title says, I am having difficulty getting a successful auto brake assisted landing. I have FSX Accelerated SP1 SP2. I have been searching the forum for this repeated issue but never found a successful solution. I have flight controls hooked up as well as rudder pedals with brake axis's mapped.1. I un-mapped my brake axis's and did a landing, result unsuccessful.2. I mapped the Brake Axis's through FSUIPC and not through FSX, result unsuccessful.3. I once again re-mapped through FSX with adjusted sensitivities and null zones, result unsuccessful.So right now I am not sure what to do, and any help, suggestions, or ideas, is welcomed.Thanks,Ange…

Hello, I'm running FSX with Windows 8. Today I bought and downloaded the PMDG MD-11. I unzipped the file, but when trying to run the PMDG_MD11_FSX_Setup.exe, instantly after (almost simultaneously with) the InstallShield Wizard window, the installation crashes with Windows announcement "Setup.exe quit working [...] Windows will close the program and tell, if there is a solution to the problem". (My OS is in Finnish, so in English it might be a bit different, but I guess you now the scene.). I've tried restarting the computer, re-downloading the file, all the possible compatibility modes, running as administrator and normal user. Every time, the result is the same.…

I've been landing and taking off at higher elevations (~10000') and getting the following Cautions: > Set Landing Altitude > Avionics Fan Override > Close outflow valve How do we set (or reset) the landing Altitude? Is any action necessary / required regarding the Avionics Fan Override and Close Outflow valve cautions? If yes, how is this accomplished? Thank you, Ken Boardman

I think I have run across an issue for which there is no readily apparent solution. I am completing a EDDF-KLAX MD-11 fight. Based upon the strong headwinds in the forecast I entered 300/320/340/360/380 in cruise levels on F-PLN INIT page 1 of 3. Normally I would not enter FL380 but entering an average headwind on the F-PLN INIT showed a climb to FL380 for about 40 minutes before the descent started. I usually don’t use averages but enter the winds by waypoint on the VERT REV page 2 of 2. Now this page has space for four altitudes but I have five between 300 and 380. So on the ground in Frankfurt I enter the climb forecast and the winds by waypoint and altitude up to and …

I perfectly handled the last flights without the vectors to final, because I thought the FMC would, after entered the right STAR and the TRANSITION and RUNWAY, add the needed waypoints to guide my heavy safe and well to the localizer. EIDW/KJFK My last flight with the Md-11 was a horror unfortunately. I have the charts of KJFK airport of course. As I approached from the north from ASPEN and KBOS, flying the PARCH1 STAR, I got the runway 13L ILS assigned from the ATC due to winds from the east. So I entered RWY 13L. After four long-haul flight I have some doubt about MD11 fuel policy.I have planned flight fuel to land with 6 or 5 tons, but every time during flight FMC display messages "INSUFFICIENT FUEL". Have any suggestion about this problem?Regards

I use VROUTE to plan and import my flight plans but is there a way to make a custom plan. Basically so i could takeoff fly a short route then return to the same runway (or same airport). I want to practise touch and go's and missed approaches using the auto features etc. Thanks Alan

Just thought id show you a pic of my first mock up of the auto flight and efis panel. Made using a keyboard, spare time and the patience to map all the keys. Its has full function for the auto flight side of things. The only time i had to stray from the original is swapping the autoflight and appr/land butons around. If i could find a someone to cut a face plate from metal that properly located around the keys, how good would that be !!!!!!!!!!!. Any ideas on that one

Some how i have the runways ligning up with true north instead of mag north, NGX using same data base aligns up correctly. The question is how do I get the MD11 runways to align up using Mag heading instead of true north heading. Airways align up correctly. percylee

Hi! Faced with such a problem. With a long flight (about 9:00, UUBW - PAFA) for activating the alternate route for the alternate (PACD) MFS freezes. MFS can be removed only through the Windows Task Manager When flying on a short route (two hours) of the present, but when you activate the FMS thinks and then gives that the route is activated. Hi guys, I am getting FSX fatal error since three days ago. I can select MD-11, click OK and the window saying loading airports data appears. At that moment FSX crashes with fatal error. Any ideas? Thank you

Hi, I've recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and have been flying the 737NGX for quite a while without any major issues. Ending a flight in the 737NGX with ESC results in a FSX CTD. I simply press CTRL-C to exit straight out of FSX. No CTD. Anyhow, let's move on to the MD-11. A couple of days ago I decided to install my MD-11 again. All went fine with the installation and activation until I selected the MD-11 in FSX under Free Flight. The usual "AIRAC loading" screen which pops up when you select the MD-11 didn't show. Clicking on Fly Now placed me inside a "Cold and dark" cockpit, with a twist. Everything was dead... displays, controls, sound... everything…

I searched for an answer (and didn't find one) and I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but I cannot find a way to increase my airspeed for take-off. I have not pushed the Auto Flight button, but the speed on the PFD shows 178, in maroon, and pushing the FMS SPD button, or the button to change the airspeed, has no effect. All the other numbers with respect to heading and altitude are white and can be changed by right or left-clicking on those buttons. The problem here, of course, is it takes a LONG time to get the MD-11 up to Rotate speed at 178 kts and the runway is disappearing quickly! Hi Guys ! Lately i had a flight from EFHK to KJFK and i noticed that on the ND near the route magenta line i had a L 20.2 so it means i was offset of 20 NM on the left. I had some wind coming from right and i was in NAV mode. I the HDG mode to be back on course then at 1.2 NM to the right course i pressed NAV again but for an odd reason instead of tracking the the route the plane started t roll on left and alligned 3.5 NM on the left of the route I was not able to allign the plane on the route i flew all the time 3-4 nm offset. Now my question is flying in nav mode shouldnt the plane compensate the wind as well keeping the plane on route? IF so what can be wrong? …

Hello everyone! This is my first post here, unfortunately a little bit frustrated one. I`ve bought the download version of the MD-11 for FSX some time ago, installed it and it worked perfectly fine. Didn't get to fly it much because of some time wasting months at University. However, I'm done with exams for a while and so I wanted to fly the MD-11 again, and after I loaded it, the 2D Panel is all grey, no textures, no Instruments, no whatsoever. The virtual cockpit screens are all black, there's at least the panel itself textured. I thought about reinstalling it, however I do not have the installer on my hard drive any more.
