PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hey fellows, I have an issue with my PMDG MD11X, when I'm taking off. I did a flight from SCEL to SAEZ with a 1:55 time flight. So i configured with a moderate load and a 15.000 Kg of fuel (33.000 lb) So according the computer onboard I have a V2+10 speed of 172 kt. but when I takeoff the speed increase so rapidly that if I want to maintain that v2+10 speed, I have to lift up the nose so much (23°-25° nose up) making the taking off phase very unreal (it looks like entering stall, very unreal). I have tried to solve this problem by increase the load and fuel, but carring too much load and extra, extra fuel. I did a tutorial from London to Zürich and happen the same v2…

I looked though all the manuals this morning, and I may have missed it. But, what is the range of the PMDG MD11 when fully loaded? How far can it fly? Thank you,

I am new to the forum, so i dont know if this has been asked already. This question is directed to PMDG: are there any plans to update the MD11 to include the flap fairing extensions, and possible re-model it with the same technic as the NGX, triple7, and soon to be V2 747.

Hi I'm new to this forum I have the PMDG MD11 via CD loaded into FSX on my windows Vista PC, all appears to work well, I have followed the two tutorials flights and have noticed that despite getting the Green box for a full ILS arrested landing using preselected autobrake on touch down I get the yellow warning light Autobrake/disagree and I have to brake manually, which i have noticed seems to take an enternity to get the aircraft to come to a stop. Have I missed something in the required set up as i believe I have followed the tutorials accurately and my subsequent flying with the MD11 always seem to throw up this issue particularly trying to get the beast to com…

LS, i don't remember always having this issue. But I have recently started flying the MD-11 again. The problem I encounter is that I would enter weights to the load manager and send it to FSX. And the MD-11 would update. But as soon as I enter the menu's or pause the aircraft for too long I get a ZFWCG out of range and to check my speeds. A different configuration is all of a sudden present in the MD-11. I would have to reopen and resend the data back to FSX. And make sure not to touch pause or menu's again for the whole flight. I tried running the MD11 validation patch, but no luck. Any ideas ? Thanks, Xander

Hi guys, In all the years I've had this plane, this is the first time this has ever happened. Today I did a fresh re install of my entire PC in anticipation for the 777! I was reloading all my usual FSX sceneries and aircraft when suddenly this oddity appeared for the MD-11. Win 8 FSX SP2 16GB ram, Nividia 650i 3.6 Ghz Any ideas why this might be happening? Hi, I've not flown the MD11 on my new computer for a long time. This morning I had the idea to take her out off the hangar again and fly her from CYVR to EHAM. When I entered the cockpit, I noticed that the font on the displays looked really weird. Can someone help me with this one? Thanks

Hello folks, Hoping someone can help me out with (what should be) a simple question, but I cannot figure it out for the life of me! Just recently ventured into the land of repainting for the MD-11 for a VA I joined, all has gone well so far, expect for one thing... I am trying to paint the horizontal stabilizer surfaces to match the body, but I cannot for the life of me figure out where (in which file and layer name) they are located within the paint kit...I was able to paint the wings to match, but cannot for the life of me me find the horizontal stabilizer. For some reason I cannot get the auto throttle and Altitude to engage, the Auto throttle won't engage no matter what I do, and the Altitude does great on the climb, but then on cruise my altitude is all over the place. Any suggestions> Thank you

Here's one that has me scratching. Is the 250<10000' hard wired into the FMS? Can't seem to find that page where it can be modified. Regards, Xander

Hi guys; My MD11 started to act in unusual way when heading or LNAV is selected, it keeps sweeping left and right around the flight line. I do not know what happened but it was OK some time a go. Do I have to re-install?

This is my first time doing a repaint for the MD11, and I am having an issue I just cannot figure out. I did the Freighter version earlier with no problems. It is like this on both sides. Any suggestions?

When ever I reload a saved flight my panel I not the same as when saved, I.e no autoflight or fmc data loaded.Can some one help mecheers Dylan leonard

I've been running three monitors for FSX for several years. I use the side monitors for popups which I undock and drag across in the usual way. Up until a few days ago I never had problems with this when flying lots of different aircraft. A few days ago I loaded up the FSX PMDG MD-11 for the first time. In cockpit view, when I drag the FMS to a second monitor, the window comes across but not the content. When I drag the window back to the main screen, the content re-appears. I have ticked the box in 'Simulations Options' for multi-monitor users. I can't work out what's going wrong and I'd be glad of advice. Thanks!

I retract the gear after take off, Only the Centre gear retracts. All indiactions in the cockpit are correct, 4 reds but landing gear still showing on the outside of the aircraft

I noticed that "cabin smoke" is not an option on the "Failures" menu. (correct me if I'm wrong) Is there a failure chain that will trigger it instead, like leaving a cargo fire going too long? I'm trying this on the freighter model if it matters. Thanks Clark

Hi I notice that during descent, in most cases , I must use speedbrakes to slow down. Also, during descent, N1 never goes below 38% N1. Just curious, is this normal. I'm descending in PROF mode with speed managed by FMS Everything else works OK. Regards Edin

hi all, I'm having a problem saving flights with the PMDG MD-11, it just don't save, I think is saving in a wrong folder and when I load from the main fsx panel it just don´t open the saved flight. I'm also having problems saving panel state, when I try to create a new panel state profile, it gives an error! can someone help. thanks

I reinstalled FSX and the PMDG MD-11 since I had a computer problem. My O/S is Windows 7. When I try to fly the MD-11 I cannot see the panels etc See attached screen shot. Any idea what I am missing ? Service Pack 1 and 2 was installed ( for the FSX )

Hi Is the PMDG MD-11 fitted with ILS autotune. I just purchased this aircraft and reading the FMS Guide I get the impression it is not necessary. The tutorial EGLL-LSZH also let's me believe it is not necessary as it says it will perform a total autoland and yet did not mention the ILS freq. Inserting the ILS freq in the FMS is no big deal but for curiosity's sake, i'd like to know whether or not I am missing something. Thanks JGComp

FSX suddenly stopped running and froze. Clicking on the close button brought up several options eg. Search Internet for a solution etc. There was also a Problem Report as shown under. I made sure that my T/C and T/D were suitably seperated and this problem occured during the Descent phase of the flight. My OS is Windows 7, FSX is with Acceleration and the only addons are German Airports 3, PMDG MD11 (Occured whilst flying this aircraft) amd FS Global Weather (active at this time).
