PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hello Captains: All of a sudden I cannot input a Cost Index on the flight plan INIT page. Every number that I input gives me a "NOT ALLOWED" error message. I have been flying the MD-11 many years and I have never had this problem before. I had just done a flight the day before, with no problems. What am I doing wrong, all of sudden? I've been flying the MD-11 on a XP environment with no issues. I reloaded FSX on a win 7/64 bit unit with 8 GB mem and intel duo core 2,5 ghz CPU coupled with Asus Radeon Hd6450SL 2 GB mem. Alll works fine until it is time to land. First time this happened, ILS intercept established and second view engaged on 2nd monitor. Tonight, again the plane had intercepted ILS but this time I tried to open a second window then FSX crashed with a fatal error. I will try the autoland again but this time will use 1 monitor only. If it crashes again, then I have an issue. Has this happened to anyone else and if you were able to fix this, can you please share what you did. …

Good day I do understand what is QNH and how to use it But Lately and i dont like this FSX tip keeps Poping up after i take off and tells me QNH should Be 1013 So my Question is when i Depart any Airport and after 5000ft do i need to swich back to 1013 QNH or just stay i the one that the Deparching airport gave me ?? I have been flying the MD11 for about a year now without too many issues. Recently I have not been able to complete a flight with the MD-11. At first I thought it was a scenery issue but I recently discovered that it is maybe an MD-11 issue. Every time I am within 5nm of the Top of Descent, FSX will freeze and stop responding. I then have to CTRL, ALT, DEL and force close the program. I do not have the pause at ToD feature selected. I have also uninstalled, redownloaded the installer package and reinstalled the MD-11 and ran the FSX Registry Fix tool, all without fixing the problem. Any ideas as I do not want to uninstall and re install almost 400GB of programs. …

Hi, This is weird, and bugging me now. Last night the aircraft was flying as if I'd kicked the rudder slightly, and was flying in a slip, but this was not the case, and the slip indicator was centered. There was a pronounced roll 1 degree to the left. Aircraft was on autopilot. I could kick the rudder and affect the yaw, but even applying what appeared to be a correction only caused the slip indicator to kick out, though it did level the wings. Other oddities included the aircraft deliberately flying off track (it wasn't happy unless it was 1.3 nm to the LEFT of track). Hi, I think the lighting of the PMDG MD11 is too white, do you know if it's possible to tweak the cockpit lights in order to get something more orange like in this video ? Thanks

As you can see from the attached screenshot, the MD-11 has stopped descending at FL230 prior to BRBBQ waypoint even though it should be below FL230 at BRBBQ. It did the same thing at SAUCC even though it was entered as 280/-26000. It crossed SAUCC at FL260. That how the magenta path got buried in the indicator on the right side of the ND. About 15 seconds after crossing BRBBQ the plane started to descend at 3500 fpm but it never caught up to the path until I went to a V/S of 4500 fpm with the speedbrakes extended. Needless to say there was no way I was at 250 at BEERT. Does anyone see something indicating why the plane is crossing these waypoints at the FL it should be be…

Tonight after a very long time in the hanger I brought the mighty MD11 out the hanger and I missed it! I just thought I would use it at the 777 replacement until V2 is out. It is still up there in my eyes with the NGX and 777 and I know it wasn't a great seller for PMDG (and no I'm not going to ask for it to be updated because unfortunately that won't be happening and I respect that decision from PMDG) but I just thought I would say I'm still loving it after a while on the ground. Hopefully others will take there's up for a spin! My flight is booked for Bimans DC10 retirement scenic flight at Birmingham and I can't wait to fly on it! Greg

Start of descent to Sochi, URSS, went alright initially. But aircraft didn't observe speed constraints. At the first altitude constraint at 5000ft she was whizzing along at 330 knots! I couldn't find a way of getting control of the speed. I tried AutoFlight off, with throttles at idle in the quadrant. Then I tried 250 knots on speed knob and pulled this. No use. Then I turned off the AP and got warnings as expected. None of these gave me control and I had to go to full manual to land the plane rather bumpily... I couldn't find a way of controlling the plane using the autopilot to effect heading and speed changes. Maybe I missed something obvious, I be gla…

Ok I cant understand this and this has just been going on since i have installed FS2CREW But the 2 things are really not related So i start FSCREw and i go through the proceeder and every thing is Fine I get to the point where i start my engines and they all fire up good and stable pass 45% after a Little Bit the EGT drops down to 0 in other words engines are not running any more so i go back and start the engines , But this time the lights stay on and as i clime the become reed until i hit my T/C please look at Picture [/url] so before i start the engines i hit A and turn on all 3 buttons this is where u see the Blue arrow and where u …
