PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've just bought the MD11 and I'm having a problem with the EGLL-LSZH Tutorial. I've run through this twice and each time I've been stuck at 37,000 ft, so have yet to get as far as landing! On both occasions the aircraft has reached the TOD but doesn't descend. Not sure if it's relevant, but having reached 37,000 ft, the FMC stays in Climb rather than Cruise. Any ideas, please? (I bet I've overlooked something daft!)

Today I purchased the PMDG MD-11, and installed a lot of liveries. However, every time I start FSX, I get a Fatal Error message as the main menu loads. Now I can't run any FSX. The only thing I changed was the MD. I tried restatying the computer and added the UIAnimationCore or whatever dll was supposed to help crashes, no luck. I am going to try and re-do the install, if that doesnt work, then I'm at a loss. Running windows 8, by the way. PLEASE HELP! Now FSX has a fatal error every time I start it, even though I removed the MD-11. Any ideas? So I was flying the MD11 again and when the plane took off, instead of following the altitudes in the FMC, the plane just tried to roar to my cruising altitude. The plane eventually stalled. Can anyone explain how to get VNAV working properly?? I have also seen tutorials on youtube where the pilos actaully have to manually change the altitude through the altitude selection bar, is that true?? Might be a silly question but I noticed our mtow is 630,...lbs that is the same as the ER. While our max fuel is the same as the standard version. The mtow should be 602,...lbs if that is the case, any thoughts on this?

Trying to install the MD-11 for FSX, and it doesn't start. Double click on the install icon, and it unzips, says the install shield will guide through the install process (quickly, this is really just a flash with a progress bar) and nothing else happens. Process manager says it's using 13% or so of the system resource, but nothing ever comes back on the install. Wait a few minutes, and still nothing. Redownloaded the package, incase the one I'm using was somehow corrupted, and still nothing. There's nothing I can be doing wrong, but what can I do? It's a download, and a double-clicker. But nothing happens. What else can I do?

Ok hear me out on this one it's either a great idea or a stupid idea you let me know. According to the unofficial road map for PMDG Products the MD-11 will never be revisited again, which is a great shame for a small number of us die hard fans of this plane. Could they sell the model, SDK, licence and code ( which I know is full of magical PMDG secrets but afer all these years is probably common knowledge among coders) to a developer they could trust and also have pockets deep enough to purchase this pre made legend. I have just purchased the MD11 after many years of flying with the many excellent freeware aircraft on offer. I decided this year to take my flight sim experience to another level and started to purchase add-ons for FSX. The MD11 is my newest recruit as to say, and is my first PMDG product. At first glance, I am impressed with the attention to detail as I am with my other add-ons for FSX. Hey guys, My name is Brandon and I just bought the MD-11 for FSX on friday and all the dislplays are black. I can't get anything to show up. I've been reading on it all weekend and I realize that this a very common problem with those that pirate the software so let me address this now because I know someone will bring it up. Hi guys suddenly my 2d co pit started having a different look. It has become transparent like and I can see the runway thru the cabin of the plane also the cabin is so large and the front window of the cabin is now set up high that I cannot see the runway only the clouds and sky. I have uninstalled and re-installed my780 nvidia drivers everything and it is still the same. Any advise will be appreciated. FSX Nvidia GTX 780 Windows 7 ultimate I7 CPU 7770k I own both 737 and MD11 they both look the same ...it happens just today..... Newer member, first new post! Thread should read "PMDG MD-11 crashes FSX". I hope Im not misunderstood... I finally purchased the MD-11, and after all these years, it's still majestic! I have always loved this heavy, although she's practically a relic now. I installed it, and after that, I started having FSX crash. I get "A fatal error has occurred", and "FSX is restarting." Hi, I loaded the MD11 (fsx version) some time ago and all went well until recently, when I suffered a complete loss of joystick control on landing. I'm using the Saitek X52 Pro. The MD11 constantly now slews to the right as soon as I turn off onto the taxiway and is difficult to control properly with the joystick as more than just a touch of excessive corrective input causes a severe slew to the left as well. As a result I'm heading down the taxiways like a drunken duck. Hi, I haven't flown her in a while, so today I planned a flight from Phoenix Sky Harbor KPHX to John Wayne Orange County KSNA. In the star page there are no entries for stars or runways. In the 777 they are all there. I'm using the latest Navigraph 1410. What am I missing here? Can someone with the MD-11 and the latest Navigraph cycle check and see if you have any entries on the star page for KSNA. Thanks Chris

Howdy all, been awhile since I posted here. I'm trying to troubleshoot why my MD-11 autopilot disconnects in cruise. I know the usual reasons: some sort of overly sensitive yoke input of axis or button push. I'm fairly certain it's not an axis blip since I don't have this problem in other birds. My suspicions are this is button push, like a button I have that pulls the throttle to idle. Could that cause the AP to cut off? Any other thoughts on what could cause that to happen if not an axis blip?

I am getting a CTD on nearly every flight with MD11, don't get them with anything else. Has anybody experienced this sort of issue before? Thanks

Hi I started my flight from cold and dark, prepare my flight and airctaft,weather and ATC, choose the auto brake knob to T.O mode., lineup the runway. Push the tthrottle to nearly 70%, click auto flight button then push the throttle full to activate the TOGA mode (Auto thrust activated), then vr ----》rotate. After take off I retract the gear level to going up and here is the problem. Only the mid center gear is going up, the rest off gears still down, this is occurs in each flight I make. Could anyone help me to resolve that ? Thx

Finally bought it last Friday for FSX. No complaints so far. What I am looking for is some sort of tables or information on how to calculate loads based on the range of the flight and the altitude. For example, if I want to fly at FL370 how can I calculate the adequate load weight/distribution + fuel to allow me to fly at that chosen altitude. Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks

Hello guys, Hope some of you can give me good advise and solution to my new and bothering problem. let me explain. During my last flight with the MD-11, i encounter 1 or 2 sudden thrust reduction in the middle of the climb. Apparently, it all goes fine during cruise and descent. An example: Passing 28000ft, N1 102%, then reduction to 60% during 3 seconds, suffiscient to decrease speed by at least 40kts...well, annoying ! First time this happens to me and don't really know what the problem could be. For the record I'm using ASV6.5, but also FSUIPC in which all turbulences and stuff is disabled, and I put values to wind smoothing. Does anyone had …

I'm extremely confused by the FMC when it comes to changing my approach. I was flying online on VATSIM, but since no controllers were online at the moment, I went ahead and chose the arrival runway while I was at my departure airport using the provided winds. As I approached my arrival airport, ATC came online. Obviously the winds have changed since I departed and so he told me to expect a different runway. (The opposite side). How the hell do I change my arrival runway without making my route overlap with the existing STAR and everything else? Hi, Started flying my loved MD11F again in GEC colors, sadly there seem to be a problem where the wing light switches behave like a master switch for all the exterior lights (when they are selected on) except for the logo light. I've tried a reinstall but it does not help. Any ideas?

Dear Sir. I have the MD11 in FS9 and when in flight in the virtual cockpit the engines sounds are very high (even if I set the sounds volume in the FS9 to low) I almost cannot hear the ATC . Is there any solution for this? Thank you. Carlos
