PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

So there I was ... 134 knots on runway 31R, autothrottle disconnect engaged, thrust levers idle (on my end), and spoilers ground flight engaged but I am not slowing fast enough. Autobrake was enabled minimum but I don't recall any braking occuring. Slowing down; 120, 115 but via friction with the runway only. My eyes glance up to see the end of the runway going by and now I am high speed on the taxiway heading quickly into a jet blast fence at the taxiway turn. My mind flashes back to the approach: Autoflight disengaged and autothrottle giving me trouble. Prior to my predicament the aircraft was on the approach in dual land configuration. As I approaching the third hour of cruise, the whole aircraft freeze, with some weird indication on the EAD, PFD and ND (the pointers disappeared etc.). But still I can click every controls of the aircraft and the aircraft response, for example, I pressed the 'Z' key, the 'Autopilot Disconnect' sound can be heared, but no indication on the PFD, and I clicked 'AUTOFLIGHT' button and the sound stopped. This happened to me 2 times in a row. Can anyone explain this weird behavior? Regards, Sarun

Fearing we will never see a better model since the real model is nearing EOL and it is doubtful another software creator will have the resources of PMDG, together with their position not to update legacy products. Does anyone know how to get it functioning correctly in P3D? i.e. ILS offset tracking problem and load manager not showing send button. I expect flack over this question re EULA but cut me some slack, I only want to enjoy it in the enhanced environment that P3D brings. It seems such a shame the last 3 holer is destined to be a forgotten relic in FSX.

I am a great fan of PMDG products, my question; is there any reason I shouldn't get the PMDG MD-11? I am running Steve's DX 10 Fixer and not sure if this is going to be an issue in regards to how old this product is. Thanks in advance for your time and input.

Hi all, I have been a bit of a prat, and decided to remove the VC on my MD-11F....... I know!..... :( Well, It worked, the VC has gone, but so have my taxi/landing lights (when viewed from the 2D cockpit). I know how to solve it, just install the MD-11 again and I'll be ok, not that easy. It's a long story -_- Could anyone please email me over the original ''PMDG_MD11_PWFb_FS9.mdl'' file please by email? I would be so greatful if anyone could! Can anyone shed light why, using the PMDG MD-11 KLM 95 Years repaint, at FSDT's KORD, I am able to use the keyboard to cycle views, zoom in and out in External Views, then end up getting a series of stutters, and completely lose use of the - and + key to zoom in/zoom out in VC panel mode? Nor can I press the @ key to bring up the ATC window. It comes up and disappears instantly.Totally baffled. Has only happened so far with the PMDG MD-11 and not the newly-purchased Aerosoft A318/319 or the PMDG T7. Run Nvidia Inspector and Bojote's fsx tweak.

Guys, the disconnect button on the throttles does not work with me, I was able to land because the minimum speed is limited to landing speed but nevertheless I'd like to be able to disconnect the autothrottle. What setting in PMDG MD-11 options is responsible for that? *Key assignment doesn't work. *throttle override doesn't work (checked override in the options). *physical button on the throttles, as noted, doesn't work either. It does click, makes a clicking sound, let's me to control the throttles for 2 seconds then reengages - if that may be a hint.

A while back they sold the complete MD-11 Manuals Kit with Posters and all for a reduced price then buying them separate. Have they stopped that or am I missing it?

Hi guys, I was just planning a short flight from JFK to IAD when I encountered a problem in loading the saved company routes. When I was at the f-pln init page, I loaded in the from/to sections, after which it brought me a page with a co route for the flightplan. I pressed insert, but then it gave me an error saying 'unable to load f-pln' or something. I just like to have company routes loaded for these frequently flown routes, and don't like spending much time in loading in them myself. Can anything be done about this?

I realize that PMDGs products are not yet fully supported with steam, but I recall having this exact problem with FSX, and somehow or other must have fixed it, because I remember flying the thing quite often. What causes this within normal FSX? Patrick Boynton

Hello I recently had to uninstall/re-install FSX together with PMDG 747X Queen of the Skies, PMDG 737NGX, PMDG MD11, and ORBX scenery programs. Everything has now been re-installed and working well, except when I try to install some PMDG MD11 liveries downloaded from the PMDG site. The versions of the MD11, in the PMDG livery, are showing on FSX, but I wanted the same liveries which I had, prior to having to do the uninstall/reinstall. I downloaded British Airways, Air Canada, United, Aer Lingus and City Bird liveries. Hi guys In my MD11 and from cold and dark, after finishing the flight preparation and starting up, pushing back to began the taxi, before the TAXI i opened the CONFIG page and check the flight controls, full left------->full right neutral, and here is the problem, in the full up and full down checking only small part (the most right part of the right elevator) only is going up and down. Not the complete two elevators perform that check. So the elevators not work probably during all the flight, its only the most right part of the elevator is work, the rest of it and the left elevator are not work. Any ideas !!!!! Thx

Hello there fellow PMDG members.I am currently facing a problem with my PMDG MD-11 when I use it with FsPassengers. The mini report is black and some buttons are non functional when FSP is activated. I have decided to post on the forum here as I never get my problem solved at the FsPassengers forum. However, it is still a great addon and I can never start a flight without it. My MD-11 has been sitting in the hangar for a long time as I could not get it to work with FSP. However, it was ok just a couple of weeks ago and I did not make any changes to either programmes. On the FSP forums a user stated he removed all key assignments from MD-11 and FSP but it did not work for …

Hello, I have a problem with the FMC of my PMDG MD-11. Whenever I try to enter EDDL as my departure airport on the F-PLN INIT Page FSX just freezes. When I enter EDDL/EGLL for example and try to get it into the FMC by pressing LSK1R FSX hangs and I ave to kill the process with the Windows Task-Manager. I don't have prorblems with other departures or even with EDDL as my destination. It just happens when I use EDDL as my departure airport. I tested it with the default Nav Database installed with the MD-11 and an updated Database but there was no change. Does anyone have an idea how to fix that problem except for not starting from Dusseldorf anymore? Thank…

So I was flying the MD11 from Princess Juliana to Schipol and everything worked fine on the FMC. The plane also took off with no issues, and LNAV engaged. However, VNAV (prof) never did but the throttles are moving themselves and the PFD showed prof armed. Despite this, I can still control them manually. I would be grateful I someone could provide a solution. It seems that the queen is much more easier to fly lol.

I have succesfully flown the MD11 in FSX the past several day, the last time being last night, and today, when I load the UPS livery version, it is stuck in Cold and Dark. The power is off, engines are off, and nothing responds. I attempted to use the menu and load an "after engine start" panel state, and it does not respond to that either. Lastly, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the entire MD11 and UPS Livery, and I get the same results. Does anyone have any idea what may have gone wrong or how I can fix it? I unfortunately had to uninstall the PMDG MD-11X to my FSX due to my computer closed down. I tried to install the plane again, but I get the message that I can not validate my code, now what ???? I would successor having my flight back to my FSX.
