PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Since it's no longer sold nor supported anymore, any reason/chance that this package could be released into the wild as a great freeware FSX add-on? ...Or am I dreaming of a world with pink sky and purple polka-dots?

Hello Guys, I have activated random failure 1 event/10Fh with unlimited failure only in Minor and nuisance menu . When I leave FSX and I restart it today the failure are deactivated (box not checked) How I can keep it always activated without reactivating at each FSX startup. Thanks for your reply and your help. Hello. I will be getting a new computer in a month or so... I still love the PMDG MD 11 and would love to continue flying it. Since the product is no longer available at the PMDG website, will I have any issues activating in my new computer? (FSX acceleration) Also, I am aware that you guys said the MD11 would not be upgraded to P3D. Has this decision been reconsidered? The MD11, the JS41 and a couple other planes are the reason I still have FSX in my computer...

Guys just searched around and found that the MD-11 doesn't like working with programs that muck about with the landing lights too much, namely in my case REX. I have uninstalled REX and put everything back to the original before I had it installed, can anyone tell me the file that gets altered that stops the landing lights showing on the ground, or even better send me a copy of said file because despite trying to rectify the problem I still have a big unlighted expanse of nothing ahead of me when using the MD11 at night! Hello! I am a long time user of PMDG's MD-11, a beautiful product. I recently re-installed a fresh FSX-SE on my PC, a fresh installation of the MD-11 (I had taken a long FSX break) and updated the AIRAC (cycle 1610 I believe). The issue: the MD-11 flies about a quarter of a mile to the right of the FMC track. The heading is correct and there is no 'hunting' for direction or anything, it is just to the right. This offset is constant in any direction and even after intercepting ILS localizer the plane descends into a place just to the right of the actual runway. Hello, Recently installed FS2Crew and now the gear lever on my MD11 is frozen, the gear moves fine on G command and now indicates up and locked, indications were red tho on the ground, any ideas? EDIT: Sorry I forgot to say, that is FS2Crew for FSX and the system of course also being FSX and PMDG

hi folks, it´s a few weeks ago I had a flight with MD-11. Now the loadmagaer doesn´t work anymore. I can start the LM, then he quits with the message "Loadmanger doesn´t work anymore"! I found in the eventmanager a problem with kernelbase.dll. By the way, same problem with the 747-400 loadmanager. OPS ist Win7 prof 64bit Has anyone any idea? kind regards Dieter Dressel

I really want to get this bird in the air. I think I have lost a start up procedure somewhere although I believe I have followed the manual. Due to mega PC problems, I haven't flown it for some time This is the problem. I manage to start all engines ok with the start up instructions and they are running well until I push my throttles for taxi..and the engines cut out. Is there something I am missing here in the start up ? Any advice is appreciated Thanks Donald

Hey guys, Iv had a massive absense from the fsx/p3d mainly due to DCS. Iv decided to get back into the fsx world due to my love of the MD11, Am I reading it correctly that PMDG have decided to stop selling the MD11? Luckily I was a supporter from day go but I mean wow! The module has took some right stick over the years I personally think it was groundbreaking and one of PMDG best add-ons. I get the feeling it's the unwanted child of theirs lol.

Hi, today I started having some issues with the MD-11, where anytime I tried to load it in FSX, the sim would crash. So, I thought, let's reinstall it again (I have the CD version). Well, whenever I try to run the CD, I get a message: from User Account Control: An Admin has blocked you from running this app. The program name is setup.exe, the File origin is CD/DVD drive, and the Program location is: F:\setup.exe. I am trying to install the MD-11 in FSX with Windows 10. Before having these problems, I was using FSX with Windows 7, and a few weeks ago I switched to Windows 10. Hi, Im having issues with lining up on the runway. I double and triple check ILS freq and course, the localizer is set and glideslope is captured but the aircraft never lines up properly. It is always 10 deg offset to the right. I have to always disconnect autopilot and fly it manually. This only happens on my pmdg md11. Pmdg 737ngx is perfect and so is all other aircraft. I have done the magnetic variation fixes which updates the BGL files. Not sure what else it is. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello pilots - I'm in the midst of speccing out a system upgrade, and I recall that back when the MD-11 and 747v2 were pulled from the market there was some nebulous discussion from PMDG about how the two older aircraft were experiencing some troubles on newer chipsets. It wasn't clear if it was GPU related, CPU related, or motherboard related, so I have the following question: Is anyone operating the MD-11 under Windows 7/FSX on a Skylake i7 6700 processor these days? I have read and re-read the FMS portion of the manual but somehow CDU entry does not seem to behave as described. My understanding is that the 2ndary flight plan should be able to be preserved separate from the active plan and at any point in the active plan I could change to and activate that 2ndary plan and perform a "direct" to a particular waypoint to join that plan route. From what I gleened from the manual, the procedure could be used to divert to a different airport midflight or to prepare a different standby destination approach or runway. The manual also suggested it be used to store the approach so that it could be re-activated following the last waypoint in a …

Hi, I'm trying to configure my MD-11 with deflected ailerons for take-off. I have gone to the PMDG add-on for the optional extras and selected the deflected ailerons by clicking on the box next to it. I click ok and when I return to my MD-11 and set t/o flaps, the ailerons don't droop down. I then go back to the options menu only to see the check that usually shows the ailerons are selected, is no longer there. Is there a solution to this? -Angelo Busato

Hey there, I know this topic has been talked about before, but I miss one important information (or somethings going on not quite right...) When I want to enter the winds in cruise (between ToC and ToD) I go to any point in the 2nd flight plan page. Then I enter Temp and Winds as -50/HD050 in the scratchpad. When I then click on the LSK on the right of the respective waypoint, I get a "not allowed" message. Also this is the case for entering the wind only or whatever format I thought about. Any suggestions? BTW: Yes, I have the 1.20 Version installed.

Hi everyone, I recently was flying on a short flight when I started facing problems with the vertical profile mode. When I had established my cruise altitude of FL330, the profile altitudes of waypoints I had not yet reached started to increase, causing the altitude on the PFD to become white (HOLD was still magenta, which meant that PROF mode was on). I kept the aircraft leveled at 330, not allowing it to ascend to the altitudes the FMC was calculating. Because of this, the T/C indication on the F-PLN page started to move back, and the aircraft wasn't able to execute the descent, as it had not even reached its top of climb point. I'm having trouble understanding why the much vaunted fuel savings of the 777 has been accepted by the industry as reason to abandon the MD-11. If I was starting a cargo airline, I'd be gobbling up every MD-11 I could get my hands on. Hi! I use the MD-11X for many years now without any big problem, but all of a sudden there's a problem with the exterior lights. To be exact, there are NO Nav Lights, Strobes and Beacons visible, alltough turned on. Maybe a Problem with the effect files? Wich files are required? Hope you can help me out! Cheers, Wolfgang

One question, I'm nor sure if this is strongly MD11 related or FSX in general, because the MD11 is my first bird with autobrakes. The issue I have is that the manual brake is really weak as compared to autobrake. So when I land and have autobrake even at low, the bird slows down quite well. Once I hit the footbrakes, the deceleration really gets much slower. So when I practiced an engine failure before V1, when hitting the brakes instinctively, I overshoot the runway with like 80 or 100 knots. When I just use autobrakes, I'm fine. I just guess it's an MD11 config problem as the calibration of the pedals is fine and goes from 0 - 100. So is there any value I could opt…

Hello PMDG team'm just suggesting if you can create a new MD-11 modeled based on the NGX, remodeled textures ... etc. It is a very dear and admired by all aircraft flying it, I would like to have an MD-11 with new improvements and qualities of textures igial to NGX it possible ??? It would cost and benefit the new creation.

My PMDG MD11 keeps freezing in FSX and I can't find a solution :( It tends to happen during an FMS entry, such as DIR INT. The little VISTA timer appears and the sim freezes. The sound continues to play and after a few seconds I get a message to say a fatal error has occured and FSX must close.I've uninstalled FSX and tried again from scratch but it's still happening. Hallo, maybe someone can help me? I try to install the PMDG MD 11 at my PC with FSX, but this is not possible. FSX is working but when I try to install ,the Program tell me , he dont find FSX foulder. But FSX working good with all other planes and programs. I dont can tell, when I try to install what place the FSX folder are, no otionon to install the program at any place, I don`t can chouse the place and HD for installing.
