Hi, I also love this plane, though it is a few years old. I last flew a nice approach at EDDF with the freighter -version during a grey cloudy weather condition in the afternoon, making the approach spectacular! But there are some probs with the MD-11 as with the 747. 747 has S-turns problems because of FSUIPC, the MD-11 on the other hand has problems with the autobrake after landing that does not disengage although I disarmed it. For the 747, I know how to tweak FSUIPC, but for the MD-11 I cannot find a way to get rid of this hickup. So when I land, the autobrake engages, makes me come to a complete stop. Hi, So the MD-11 used to work perfectly, then I was away for 3 months and now I tried to do a flight and when FSX finishes loading the Yoke is all the way to the left and there is no power to the A/C and I cannot click any of the switches, I can't even turn on the battery! I have no clue how this has happened, my 737 and J41 work perfectly. Is there something that I can do to get this beast working again or is it a fresh install I need? Colin Delaney

Dear Sir After I had installed some new liveries the mouse freeze in VC Cockpit (most of the times when the aircraft is landing) the rest of the time the mouse is good. The mouse pointer changed to a HAND and when I put it over any control of the VC Cockpit nothing happens, I do not have any control at all.The mouse remains with the HAND symbol. If I changed to the 2D Cockpit it works. I have other add ons installed but this situation only happens with the PMDG MD-11 I would like to have a solution for this problem because I love to fly with the MD-11, and now I c'ant do it anymore. The VA that I fly for has made the 250kts under 10k rule applicable to all flights, regardless of aircraft type or minimum safe airspeed. I have just started flying the MD-11 and have come across a long haul route out of MPTO with a SID that has a fairly long distance to fly holding at 5000 ft. It seems like I'm burning a lot of fuel and maintaining a high N1 with flaps 28 but if I retract them they go to 0, no intermediate steps, and the FMC automatically compensates and the FMC commanded speed goes above 250kts even though I have a speed restriction programmed into it. If I go to the DAF and put in 15 flaps I can then retract the flaps and extend them again to 15 quickl…

Hi gents, I am searching for some info regarding the MD-11Xs logic when in CRZ, on PROF, approaching TOD. I have seen the MD ignoring the T/D, thus not start descent when crossing T/D with lower altitude set in MCP with PROF active. Does this have something to do with not setting minimum for the approach? Could it be that IF a RWY is selected in STAR before T/D, the minimum have to be set for it to start descending? Sounds a bit far fetched, but still it is the only explanation I have for what I have seen... I've been reading the FCOM and FCTM but can't find anything about this issue. Thanks,

I was wondering if there is something I can do to solve this. Basically, I climb up to around 28,000 feet and my climb gradually slows down and I noticed that my TAT was reading +38C and was only getting higher as I climbed. I remember something about this a long time ago when the MD-11 first came out but I couldn't find it in the forums. I had the issue to and fixed it but I have since purchased a new computer system and can't seem to find the solution, anybody please help me. Ryan Gann

Hi all, i'm a new guy to these PMDG forums. So sorry if I ask something that has already been asked. I own every pmdg product for FSX and they all run beautifully. They have all been bought from Aerosoft and they are all hardcopy versions. The MD-11X has been running great until recently. I have attempted 4 flights and every time I reach 4,000 feet ASL FSX ctd. The guys over at Aerosoft told me to post here. Any help in solving this ctd issue would be great. thank you brandon garcia

Hey Everyone, Lately, I've been flying the MD-11 a lot, and one thing I have noticed is that the taxi and landing lights are very far in the distance, and slightly displaced. I looked around on these and other forums, and saw that it may be a conflict with my weather program, AS2012. I tried unchecking the option to use AS's lights, uninstalled the MD-11, and no luck. I'm wondering if anyone has any other solutions. Also, I was planning on purchasing Shockwave lights from A2A, would that also solve it? Thanks,

Hi guys I have the saitek simple mcp (SAITEK MULTI PANEL) and i need to use it with my PMDG MD11. I don't know if it operate well automatically (when i plug it) or there is a some configurations need to follow to make that possible. Please guys i don't have any another hardware (that can use it as a mcp with my PMDG MD11 home cockpit except my simple saitek mcp). Any ideas ? Thx. !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your help: I've just bought this wonderful aircraft, but I get some display issues: The first one, the most annoying (but it happens only sometimes when expanding the Autopilot Flight Control Panel in 2D Cockpit): The second one: the blur texture only for the fuselage (everytimes for every pmdg livery): The last one, maybe a conflict md11/737NGX, since I've installed the md11, here is the 737's VC View, with blur map:

Why is there so much smoke on engine 2 ? I can avoid it turning the AutoBrakes switch to OFF Position ( because the ABS Disarm light switched on). This is probably normal, but an explanation would be helpfull. Thanks.

Right now it's 10:40, my scheduled departure time. Unfortunately, I am still parked at the gate in my KLM MD-11 at Atlanta. Reason being, is I am having problems with my IRS aligning. I set the three IRS's to align (I'm using fast align for 15 seconds) and the 15 seconds later I get a message on my EICAS display saying IRU 1 Not Align, IRU 2 Not Align, IRU 3 Not Align. When I try to press INITIALIZE IRS* in the FMS, a message in the scratchpad pops up saying "NOT ALLOWED". Also, I tried manually entering the LAT/LONG in both the INIT page and the POS REF page. Both times I tried a message also popped up saying NOT ALLOWED. I've never seen this before, and I've spe…

Sheesh - I have had the aircraft since release and I only now start looking into the VERT REV WIND pages?! :blink: There is a line at 2R that I seem unable to enter any data into. Is there a specific time I'm, supposed to enter data here? e.g. before engine start? I'm in cruise, and trying to enter anything results in NOT ALLOWED. I entered some wind data for the FROM waypoint, and it still reads 0. Is this even implemented? I can't find mention of it in the manual, either. Best regards, Robin.

I noticed that if I level off during a climb for whatever reason after a takeoff, let's assume I level at 5000ft, than if I descent to 4000ft and after that I try to climb to cruise altitude, the fmc will give me only the DES page in PERF, is there a way to go back to CLB and CRZ pages?

Hi I am learning at the moment so I have probably missed something so bear with me. This has happened on a few flights but not all. The auto pilot holds the altitude on the local barometer setting and not standard. Example - I take off from KJFK where barometer setting is 3021, at FL180 I select standard and check setting at 2992. I have FL310 set in FMC and autopilot. The aircraft levels off at 30720, the purple dot is at 31000. If I press B which changes barometer back to 3021 the altitude changes to reflect the aircraft at FL310. Hi guys I have small problem, that's why i will describe my problem here because i thrust the avsim family help eachother in every & any time.. Its not a real problem, but i ama glass cockpit user, and in the pmdg md-11 there is no 2D panels for the overhead panel & pedestal which are must important to my fly and my home cockpit. I have the ( undockable cfg ) which is come as an update to the aircraft for the users which need the undockable PDF , ND & EICAS's. Gents, I had uninstall and reinstall my FSX, and along I re-installed MD-11- among others/. However, the MD-11 is the only one which will not show or do the "Systems Initializing" step. The aircraft load with one engine running, but with no display on the PFD or any display- They are all blank. Does anyone how is this resolved. I want to enjoy this a/c again.

Hello MD11 Drivers, shortly after take off (at about 800-1000 ft AGL) I engage Level change as a vertical mode. This triggers AT to change immedeately from TO Power to CL Power. Why does it do so? The manual states that whenever you engage Level change before reaching climb thrust altitude set in the FMC (e.g. 1500 ft AGL) this solely arms the system to change automatically from take off power to climb power at climb power altitude.
