PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hello all, i recently started to make little video's and when i arrived at the md-11 i noticed that when i play back the recorded scene, my plane is dumping fuel (while i wasn't in flight) and all my ailerons and stabalizers were making twitchy movement's. this really annoy's me and i hope someone has a solution to this. sincerly, dutchdavid

Hi MD-11 Pilots I'm finding on some of my landings (usually the bad floaty ones), that instead of the ground spoilers deploying I suddenly get the callout "No Spoilers". Now I definitely am arming them on approach, every time. I have my MCE F/O arm them and also check them in a checklist. Theories I have at this stage: 1. I flare too high and it thinks it's a go around; or 2. My spoiler axis is noisy and this prevents deployment sometimes? 3. Throttle position isn't exactly at zero or where required for spoiler deployment? Did anyone else have this problem and find a solution?

I tried to search for a past post that dealt with this subject, but got no answer. I hope someone can give me a step-by-step procedure to convert FSX .pln files to .rte files that will be accepted in the MD-11 FMC...Thanks in advance for any assistance... Lee

Should I un-install the MD11 first prior to re-installing? I have the NGX also installed and wanted to make sure that uninstalling the MD11 doesn't cause any issues with any shared files. Thanks, Bruce.

Hi all, I'm new to the md-11 and was looking for a good tutorial to show me how to fly via the fmc with autopilot and auto landings. Does one exist? I watched a 5 part on YouTube which I thought was own but whilst flying alongside the tutorial I encountered errors it did not and I now realise he had missed a few key steps. I'm a competitant 737 ngx pilot but the md-11 is one of my dream aircraft! Please help I'm looking for video tutorials if possible

I missed something I guess, because I cannot, try as I may, get any marker beacon indication on my MD-11 aircraft while making an ILS approach. I did not find a direct reference in the operation manual, so i hope someone here in the Forum will show me how to activate the MBs, including the audio, when flying over them. When setting up the MD11 for a flight, regardless of the aircrafts weight, the FMS gives a opt altitude of FL405, and Max of FL430. Any ideas on the issue? Best Regards

I'm looking for Nordic Global Airlines repaint for the MD-11F It's a very simple livery, but I have no idea how to do it. Is it out there or can someone do it? Thanks

All of a sudden in the last week my MD-11 now on start up has an issue. All the MFD's and CDU's remain black with green "X" across them as if they are not on. But I am loading the default "ready for taxi" type panel. I've tried to find in the manuals where maybe a switch or Avionics system might be off and everything is on. Tried to reload the program and do the "repair" when loading MD-11 again, still have the same cockpit configuration. I've done nothing to my computer, last flight I did with the MD-11 was a few weeks ago and it loaded in the ready state for taxi with all systems running. What is the problem?? Thanks, Rob

Dear flightsimmers I finally got the MD-11 installed! Thank you for the advice given on my last posts. I'am flying currently on the PMDG house livery, because I didn't get the liveries installed from the DVD to the computer. I know it must have something to do with the user rights I have - I always have to click "run as admin" on the Fsx. Would it make sense to download the liveries from the Pmdg site and click then "run as admin". Is anybody well versed on this prodedure? Thanks for ideas Alex

Hello! The other day flying in IVAO a Ferry flight I set the aircraft for cero kg cargo. I could not program the FMC because that means Out of CG% MAC in ZFW, ToW and LW. The flight was short (350nm) and I set 20,000 kg of Fuel. Is there any way to do it emptly and with that fuel? I had to add dummy cargo to let me introduce the values in the FMC.

I was just wondering if any one Uses REX for real weather on Line ? If so i have a Question, every time the REX weather Engine loads the weather i Loose altitude about 1000f and a Little bit of speed Is this Normal ?? or something is wrong ? has any one experienced this before ? and what would the solution ? Hello. I looked all over the interwebs, but nothing helped. My FSX crashes when using the PMDG MD-11. This usually happens when: - deleting stuff out of the FMC F-Plan - when DEP and APP airport is the same (in the FMC) - after departure at about 3000FT These CTD does not happen everytime, but still kinda often. Hey guys, I have noticed this a few times when I have flown to airports with runway 'islands' surrounded by water...ie Haneda's new runway, or on a trip today to RJFU Nagasaki's rwy 32. At first I thought it was an ILS bug, but after investiagation of just simple VFR flying/approaches, it is like there is an elevation bug in the runway. I watched it on replay and it was as if over the numbers about 70-100ft high, I hit a brick wall and slam down. I wasn't decending too fast, had a nice gradual callout/decent rate, if anything, slighly above PAPI glide slope. I tried this landing the opposite direction. Hey all, Ok had this bird now about a week and a half and am finally getting the systems down to the point where I can relax and look around a bit and enjoy the sights. Now last night for the first time it occurred to me looking around in the VC there are no windscreen or side window reflections, dirt, nor smudges. I'm assuming its because of the age of the product. Is this correct or am I missing something in setup? And if so has anyone done any kind of mod to get some kind of glare or defect on the window glass? Enjoying the product overall. Hi, What should the GA button do exactly ?I didnt find it in the manual.. When i push the button (or map it as a keyboard shortcut) nothing happens (i tried different approach modes) manual approach and a/p approach mode as well.. But no response.. It should at least increase the thrust to go-around or take-off setting.. ? And show some "go around" mode on the PFD..? I also tried to reinstall md-11-.. But i get same result.. Thx, Jan.. BTW.. I would Like to know how to read a VOR/NBD in EFB please ?? So i have EFB and i use it every time i fly . so i did the tutorial again to understand how to use the ADF1 and ADF2 witch is Flying from EGLL to LSZH departing RWY 27L via DVR4G the tutorial is very clear. So he has tuned ʻLONʼ for the DVR/CRS and ʻDET/273ʼ and Enter ʻ316ʼ for ADF2 and ʻ109.5ʼ for the DME reading SO i load up EFB and i see some of the INFORMATION but i would Like to understand it so i can do it on my own .. Yesterday, since quite some time, I took the MD-11 out of the hangar again for a nice long (loooong) flight from KLAX to SBGL. Had a heavy load and takeoff was at MTOW. Initial flightlevel was set at FL290, with steps to FL320, FL340 and planned FL360 though I never made it to that last FL. Already during climb, the MD was having a hard time maintaining both speed and a healthy climb rate. Now with healthy I mean a couple of 100 feet per minute, so nothing rocket-like :-) During cruise, max EPR was set to 1.17 at FL290 and later on at FL340 it was 1.10. This max EPR setting was by far not enough to maintain a cruise speed of Mach .81. Mostly it stayed around at Mach…

My FSX is rock solid, never had random CTD's or any other fuzz. I run a conservatively set FSX on a non OC'd rig. Oddly enough, the only time my FSX crash is either with a Pin Program Error from the FMC in the NGX or the following in the MD-11: 8 hours into my 9 hour flight from Dehli to Stansted today, preparing the FMC for my approach, I entered BKY/87/10 in the scratchpad, as I pressed LSK1 to add the fix, I got the swirling windows "cursor" and FSX crashed. This is the third time this happens in the MD-11, always the same "MO", pretty sad if I cannot trust to use the FIX function in such a fabulous aircraft... Ok just a Fast question please ,, So i am flying on Line and i am Looking and i can see there is No ATC at Mt Arrival airport so i decide to set up for the runway and every thing els , as i get closer Boom ATC is up and running and wont let me land on the RWY that i have chosen although it is the right RWY for the wind conditions ,,, any way so now i am lost i dont know how to adjust putting in my new RWY in the MCDo and it wont let me delete any thing on my route I keep getting a Message says Not allowed Can some of you online Pilots please explain how will you do this if you had my situation How can i adjust my new RWY in the FMC and still fallow ATC ?? …

This particular shot is the threshold of rwy 34R at KSEA. But it happens also on other airports. It happens almost exclusively with the MD-11. (The 737 NGX has no problem!!!). BTW: Is there any feature to smoothen the KSEA airport boundaries which are now suddenly elevated? (Aircraft carrier mode..) Thanks, Christos

1- Is there any cargo addon for the Md-11 where ground service unloads and loads the cargo ?? i do have AES from aerosoft but they dont do that :( 2- for the Go around thing if i would Like to use it for an emergence , how does it work ?? all i have to do is activate it by Pressing on the FMC go around ?? 3- i use EFB with all my trips and it is a great APP but i dont know how to enter the waether or the winds in the FMC every time i try i get an error format so i always use 0/0 for slop but cant't enter winds or weather Thank you

Hey folks, when i enter my flight plan, put fl370 in crz, start flying, go to my flight plan, my cruise level keeps changing after each waypoint, even though the t/c shouldn't change(only recently), this is now the 2nd flight its done that with, 1st trying to go egph-gcts and it stayed at fl280, and now going to leal its stuck @fl330, if i try to manually raise by adjusting my v/s even just to 500fpm, my fms speed disables, which is fair enough, but on my nav display, my t/c keeps changing, if i try changing my alt in my act flight plan, by using /370, the waypoints prior to where i selected, dont change - this is only 2 flights this has been with, and it didnt do it yest…
