PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I try to load a CO Route and get a error message "Unable to load F-plan" I tried renaming the file and get the same message. Any advice? the flightplan is downloaded from simroutes.com

hello, hope someone can help. when I fly this STAR http://imageserver.fltplan.com/merge/merge1304/Single/00373BARET.PDF into KSAN there is a crossing restriction I am not sure how to handle in the MD-11. it says to expect to cross 25 miles NE of PGY at 12,000 (on the TNP transition). I went through the manual to see how to go about that but didn't find anything. in the NGX you can create a user waypoint with only the DME from the VOR. but it seems you have to know the radial, too, when you try that in the MD-11. unless I have missed something. does anyone know a good way to do this? thanks!

Have flown MD11 many times with no EGT probs. On my last flight while climbing to CRZ altitude I got hi EGT temp warnings on all three engines. The plane was not overweight and Auto Flight was properly engaged. I leveled off at FL220 to relieve the engine stress But the engines seemed to be struggling to maintain proper thrust and I could not maintain Crz speed so I aborted the flight. I'm getting an AppHangB1 crash when I try to input my alternate airport in the fmc. I have a flight plan from PANC to PHNL and I crashed 3 times in a row trying to input PHOG as the alternate so I input PHLI and got the same thing. I installed the new aircac cycle today so could that be the cause? And of course I don't have a backup of the old one... :(

Good day Just a Fast Question , If i wanted to Land the MD-11 on a runway that is 6000ft + first of all can the md-11 do it ? and here is where i should use flap 50 ? I know i have landed the MD-11 on a 8800ft runway and it was a little scary stopping at the end of the runway with MAX auto-brakes But maybe because i was a Little to heavy I would Like to know what Flap setting i should use for Landing and Departing on small runways Thank you

OK FSX flying tips pops up and states the aircraft is losing power to use CTRL-X to set the mixture. I have installed FSPassenger X to try it out as the demo and every sice i have been getting this tool tip NOT tool-tips is disabled on my PC but this keeps showing up every 10 seconds I have uninstalled FSpassanger X and it is still showing up can any one help on how to disable this or fix it ?? thank you

Hi all, I have a question, when i deploy the flaps for take-off the flaps closest to the fuselage extend but the flaps at the wingtips stay retracted does any one know what i am doing wrong? I have seen many MD-11's who's flaps extend also at the wingtips. thanks in advance Jeffrey

Good day Any having a little Problem with the MD-11 Lights at Night ?? it seems to me there are not as bright as you would think they should be , having a few problems when doing night flying ( when taxing ) Not to mention i have the shock wave 3D lights installed it works amazing with all my Other Aircraft's But with the MD it is hard to see at night can any one help ??? thank you

Sometimes a STAR will indicate a between altitude. In the boeing FMC it would be entered: "RAINN 240/14000B12000A. Is this possible in the MD-11? Ruben

Hi, I am working on a new little programm and I wanted to ask if there is any forumla/table/whatever available on the internet to calculate/find takeoff distances according to flap settings, temperatures, altitudes and weights. I know the documents available on the Boeing website, however I am looking for something a bit more precise. Does anybody know where i can find what I am looking for? Best regards, Jonathan

Hey folks, I started a flight egpf-lemg earlier when fs2crew announced that someone had had a heart attack, So how do I go about reprogramming my fmc for that? - I did try land at eghh, - I put the ils freq and rwy heading in nav raid and I put eghh in as my alternate, is this all I do? Hi guys, I'm having problems hearing ATC when I'm up in the air with the PMDG MD-11. I'm talking about the way FS9 handle cockpit sounds in the VC. Here's what happens, while in the VC, I'm sure those who use FS9 know that when you turn your head to the right from the captain's seat, you hear some ambient noise. The problem is, in the MD-11, while in-flight, the ambient noise is too loud while I'm looking to the right, adjusting alt, speed, etc on the panel. I have to listen really hard in order to hear ATC's commands. I have tried using the sound settings suggested in the MD-11 manual and it makes it a lot worse. Can't understand what ATC is telling me. Please refer to the attached ILS approach for 25L at EBBR. When I selected this and it loaded the farthest waypoint from the runway that loaded was "D5 BUB". I am using Navigraph AIRAC Cycle 1303 and I know that the MD11 FMS is only loading what is included in the AIRAC 1303 25L ILS approach. I know how to add standard waypoints into the flight plan, but how do you add something like D8.9 IBL or D8.1 BUB or D13.9 IBL? Regards, Rod Storer

This is in regards to the MD11 for FSX. Is there any place in the manuals and tutorials besides Pages 50.7 and 50.8 of the FMS manual that discusses entering altitude and speed restrictions into a flight plan? I was trying to enter an altitude restriction of 3000' into a flight plan and no matter what format I tried I always got a message that the value was out of parameter or something like that. I tried 3000, /3000, 300, /300, 30, /30, 3, /3 and also with a speed restriction, 180/3000, 180/300, 180/30, 180/3. Nothing I tried would work and I thought that I have done this before and it worked fine. How do you enter just a speed restriction, just an altit…

Anyone know why the ZFWCG is out of range when the aircraft (all versions) has no payload or passengers? How do pilots fly the aircraft when it's empty? This is according to the MD-11 load manager.

Hello Everyone, I have scrolled back to July 12 to try and get an answer without success. There is not a problem with the 737ngx keyboard assignments re spoilers but I cannot replicate the assignment into the MD11, as you know it is not in the MD11 keyboard list. I don't mind using the mouse to activate the spoilers but when using outside view to land at airport using Fraps, it is difficult to de-activate the spoilers before coming out of the video process. I feel a little sheepish asking for help in this forum as I have all the other PMDG aircraft and have been simming for 15 years. Just go the MD-11 and can't figure this out. After several attemps "winging it", I finally loaded the EGLL to LSZH tutorial but had the same problem. Everything seems to proceed as planned until I try to descend and on approach to landing. The aircraft quite simply wont't slow down. It blows right through the 10000ft/250kt restriction at something over 350kts. using spoilers, flaps, lowering the gear has no effect. Despite attempting to disconnect the autoflight system, the throttles don't respond to any inputs. They function fine before takeoff…

I can't lock the parking brake of my PMDG MD-11. Il isn't possible in the modus Cold & Dark and with the engine on as well. I already uninstalled and installed the MD-11 but it won't help. Can you help me please. Thank you so much

I have FSX Gold installed in Windows 8 64 bit, and is working well most of the time. I have used the MD11 in this instance of FSX before, but am finding tonight that I get a CTD whenever I try to load the MD11- whether into a new flight (have also tried loading the Trike first), as well as loading previous saved flights with the MD11. I have also restarted and "cold booted" the PC. The PMDG NGX appears to continue to work well. Are there any known issues with the MD11 and Windows 8? G'Day All, I'm working my way through the manuals again for the MD-11, but there are two things I'm not finding or understanding, so I'm hoping someone can clue me in. 1. First is, what do the initials FPA stand for (it's on the FCP and you toggle between V/S [that one I know] and FPA. I can't find anywhere in the manuals exactly what the FPA is. 2. Again going through the FCOM, etc. manuals, I can't find any charts that list estimated runway for takeoffs (I found the landing charts ok, but not any for takeoff).
