can anybody help me, my altimeter and vsi are half the size of the other instruments. the space is there, only it's black and the guages are reduced and numbers are skewed. can somebody please help me? oh, it's only when i'm in virtual cockpit, and also the cockpit lighting doesn't seem to be working too well, if at all. i've also installed the version 1.1 update.thanks,sk8z27

I have a question regarding the action taken when having an engine fire. I should disconnect the autothrottle and manually control the power, but only the one throttle lever that is associated with the working engine. Now in order to do this I would have to select it with the "E + 1(2)" key combination depending on which engine is working. This is generally a pain so I was wondering if it matters if I don't do this and just control both levers.

Hi..After many hours of reinstalling, removing and editing I found out that altering the WEATHER.DLL with the one with the VISIBILTY FIX (for Europe and metric sys) AFTER installing the patch will cause your PMDG 737NG Engine Gauges to fail! :-jumpy Don

A couple of questions about these please if anyone can help.Up until now I have only used the original nav data or downloaded Simon's All in One from his very useful website. This time I thought I'd update form the PMDG site and have a couple of problems I'm not sure about.I've just downloaded the latest Airac cycle (4/10/2004) and the the latest SID/STAR from PMDG. I installed as per the instructions and the SID/STARS I manually put in the FS2002/PMDG/SIDSTAR sub-folder. The self extracting Airac stuff went into a new sub-folder under the FS root directory like this:-Microsoft Games |Flight Simulator 2002 |FMCWP |Navdata.I think this is correct ?The problem I…

Hello. I am waiting for the 747 , I don't really like the 737's much (I just know I'm going to get a bashing for the 737 comment .) and I was wondering if the PMDG planes have SIDS / STARS in their FMC's for these planes like the PSS ones do. (and NO, this is not to put one manufacturer against another, just a question.)thanksSteve.PS the reason why I ask is because I have heard that they use the DAFIF database, and that this database has problems / lack of information for the SIDS / STARS. depending on the replies I get will determine why I ask this.thanks for any feed back Steve

I'm experiencing difficulties trying to get the ATC and FMC to operate smoothly when using flight plans with the 737NGs. Today I flew from KPHX to KSLC on a flight plan created by FSBuild. I had planned on landing at KSLC's 16R and, after having flown the entire distance, ATC suddenly announces that I need to land on 34L. Really frustrating! And all the more so after first having looked up the ILS heading and frequency for 16R on http://www.airnav.com/airports/get I had hoped to make an autoland at Salt Lake. How am I supposed to do this if I have to pause FS2004, to look up a new heading and frequency, every time ATC changes runway approaches? I just don't get it. Don't …

Hi friends - when I set failures through PMDG, they rarely seem to actually occur. I have checked the electronic documentation but can't seem to find anything.For example, to simulate an engine fire followed by a blown hydraulic sys A 4 minutes later, I enter what I assume is the correct and fairly straight forward details, but they don't seem to kick in all the time - just occasionally even though I speciify 4 minutes etc.Any hints or tips?Regards/Chardy[edited to more meaningful title]

to say thanks to PMDG for the awesome products that we already have. I know I paid for the products and should expect some level of competency from PMDG, but what I have was above the norm. I really am looking forward to both the 747 and the MD11. I am very excited really. Thanks again and am waiting impatiently.

The usual recommendation is to select HDG SEL at 400' AGL.Just want to know if I am understanding the above correctly:This arms, but does not engage HDG SEL. HDG SEL(white) enunciated on PFD(Why wait until 400' if we are only arming the roll mode?)?HDG SEL will be active roll mode as soon as A/P engaged at 1000'?If you're wondering why I am even asking this, it's because I still have some residual memories of the default A/P, where you could not do anything until the A/P was active(yep, I know the PMDG version is a very different beast!).Thanks,Frank

I used the e-commerce site a couple of days ago and purchased the 737NG and the 800/900 addon. Worked like a charm and had my download links in 3 minutes. Install was fine[XP, SP2, FS9 w/update] and it works great! Love the bird, it is truly a masterpiece! It is my 1st ever PMDG aircraft and has taken me a couple of days to get used to it somewhat and still learning. All in all I'm very pleased with this aircraft and flying it on VATSIM makes it even more fun. :-)Hope to see you all flying,Randy Oldfield

Sorry for all the questions today :), but I've been flying a lot today and had a few questions pop up. When flying I notice a difference between the reported wind in fs9, using the "shift+z", and the FMC that says "actual wind". On my last flight the fs9 reported wind was 88/19 and the FMC said 106/19. I suspect it might be something like one is magnetic heading and the other is true heading.

Hi,I installed FS9 on its own drive being f and windows is on c drive.The install for PMDG 737-600-700 which i purchased on disc which is version 1.3 to f drive then it said roboot then every time i try to run the pmdg_737_800_900.exe it says I must have the 737ng 600-700 installed. I uninstalled the 737-600-700 and reinstalled it serveral times but still have the same problem. can anyone help please. I am using xp home. ;(

After hearing so many good comments on the PMDG 737NG and reading excellent reviews I decided to buy it (the PMDG 737NG 677/700, I still don't have the 800/900s). I have used it for just a few hours this past weekend and I agree with the critics this has to be the best FSim add-on ever!The only problems I have experienced is a couple of very anoying crashes to the desktop in both cases while clicking on FMC buttons, the whole screen would go black but the FMC would stay on for about 1 or 2 minutes while FS 9.1 is crashing to the desktop. I am running the PMDG 737NG 600/700 on a very stable FS 9.1 install on Windows XP Pro SP2 and the fully licensed FSUIPC 3.4.Overall I am…

I want to place an order from PMDG for 737-6-7-8/900 NG . I had disconnected Antivirus , Firewall , Pop bloker . I had enabled cookies for PMDG . Every time I completed an order , it was rejected quoting error 3 or 4 !!! with no comment what the error was or what to do to correct it . I did send an E-mail to support at PMDG . No reply .Please could someone help me . PMDG could be very good at creating superb addon but they are not very good at creating an easy to use web site to sell their products . Also why such a high quality and expensive payware is not available on CD .

Finally, finally - after having studied I don't know how many manuals and recommendations - I was able to autoland for the first time last night with a 737NG 600 on a flight from KMSP (Minneapolis) to KDLH (Duluth)!:-wave This was just incredible to watch. I had the NAV radios tuned into the right frequencies, the course setting was correct, my flight was at the right altitude to intercept the LOC signal and I was apparently on the right glide scope. Once the glidescope became active (not that I noticed it), I was able to engage the second AP - and it held. I slowed down,lowered the flaps and watched as the plane descended smoothly. And suddenly I had landed using autolan…
