It seems like the autobrake is not working properly on my 737-600/700. I loaded the 600 with 39,000 pounds of cargo and passengers. Then I loaded 8000lb of fuel. I then took off a runway and climed to 1800 feet agl on runway heading. I then with the plane stable on autopilot did a procedure turn to intercept the ILS and slowed the airspeed to 180, flaps 5, established on the LOC. I then armed the spoilers and set the autobrakes to 2. As the GS comes alive I lower the gear set speed to 135 and as the plane slows I lower the flaps to 40. I arm the second CMD for autoland so I do not float past the numbers. The runway I am landing on is 6300 feet long. The plane flie…

Has anyone used the latest version of Voice Buddy with any of the 737NG planes?Has anyone produced their own checklists? Is there any chance that PMDG might produce any official ones?Mike Turner

After hitting "S" for leaving the Flight Deck (to view the exterior of the aircraft) I encounter a noise, rather like static, of an unacceptable level. If this is an inherent fault with my sound card, a "Creative SB Live 5.1", can I overcome the problem?Cliff

Hi All. The DAFIF 0411 cycle of terminal procedures for the PMDG 737NG are now available on my site at http://home.sw.rr.com/filesherenow/index.html and soon on the PMDG site. Sorry for the delay. I made some "small" changes to my master database and it resulted in 3 days of troubleshooting.RegardsTerry

Hi all. Has anyone run into a problem, using my DAFIF terminal procedures, where the plane turns in the wrong direction to go to the next waypoint? If you have experienced this would you please send me a note ([email protected]) with what airport and procedure had this sort of problem. Thank you.RegardsTerry

Hi guys,I am trying to improve my night time 2D panel experience. 1) Is there any way to force FS2004 to stay in day panel lighting/brightness mode during the night ? I would like to be able to see the daytime 2D panel lighting/look during the night. 2) Also, any way to change the colour of the night panel without turning on the cockpit light. I noticed that as day turns to night, the daytime panel slowly gets darker, is this a FS2004 setting somewhere to control brightness over time?I am just trying to get a clearer night 2D cockpit, I think that it deserves some attention. Somehow the grey look of the daytime cockpit has been overloaded with an orange wash at night.I…

Is it possible to add a photoreal panel for the 737 if I could find a photo somewhere? Not that I am able to do it, but I'm willing to try it out and learn how. :D...it's just that if it's not possible I wouldn't bother looking for pictures.

Hi everyone!I've got a question about performing a good take of and about fuel preparation:- First the take of. When for example lining up the -800 on the runway and accelerating with normal n1 settings (so no reduced or whatsoever) I experience my first problem when the airspeed hits the precalculated v1 speedbug (calculated by the fmc), followed by rotate when the plane should get her nose up in the air and fly away. I usually rotate with a delay of two or tree seconds, when my virtual co-pilot already calls out v2. But with v2 u already need to fly several feet up in the air?! After that you should maintain +- 9 degrees nose up until a certain altitude (to avoid a tail…

Hi all,I have problems with VNAV discos after missed approach procedures. I start the missed approach with TO/GA which disengages the autopilot. When a positive climb rate is reached, I retract the gear and retract flaps as required. There

Hello. I am trying to get through Timothy Metzinger's tutorial from St.Louis Intl. The FMC shows waypoints BNA and VXV around 5100 miles and I get insufficent fuel message. They should only show 150 miles. What do I need to do? I am feeling the onset of hypoxia.thanxcraig struzzy

I have the habit to repeat a flight, when it was not perfect. Therefor I use exactly the same startup situations, which means same time of the day, same co-route etc. Also the weather is exactly the same, since I use FSMeteo's downloaded and saved global weather situations. And although those parameters are allways the same, I have never got identical take off speeds calculated by the FMC for identical flights. They allways differ by 3 - 5 kts.Any ideas?Wolfgang

Been going around, and came across Skydecks, so I picked their colors and applied them to the PMDG 737. So, all credits for coloring goes to Skydecks! In my humble opinion, it sure looks alive :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/95924.jpg

GentsI am looking for the proper force feedback joystick configuration parameters ideally for PMDG 737.With the default settings, (Logitech Force 3D), i am getting jerky-type movements on the joystick when i try banking, etc.. it's not smooth or precise as I would imagine the real NG.I am suspecting my joystick settings are not ideally configured, and am hoping someone has some parameters that work nicelySo far, in my Logitech setup, I have it calibrated properly (centered, etc), my settings are all the defaults:overall effects stregth=100% (max 150%)spring effect strength=100%damper effect strength=100%Enable Centering Spring=ONCentering Spring Strength=100%In FS2004, I…

Hi all,I've noticed, as some others, that slowing the PMDG down to 250kts (or slower) below 10.000ft. isn't a piece of cake. I can understand that slowing a plane isn't as easy as hitting the brakes in a car, but I do have some thoughts.I usually fly a manual decent at about 2000 ft/min, cause VNAV gives me too much of an irregular climb/decent (as excellently put in the advanced tutorials by Timothy Metzinger). But even when I reduce this rate to about 1500 nearing 10.000ft & with the speed brakes on I have a hell of al lot trouble slowing even below 300 KIAS. I suppose (correction I'm sure)the PMDG is modeled close to the real thing, but is it possible that the brak…
