This is an intermittent problem that I have experienced with a a couple of my SIDSTAR files. I have just updated my CYLW (Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada) file to reflect the new runway orientation. On arrival to CYLW approximately 10nm prior to T/D, I get an FMC warning "APPROACH SPEED NOT SET" (or something to that effect). I do not receive a warning to "RESET MCP ALT". The aircraft passes T/D still level at the cruise altitude. A variation to this problem is a timely descent at T/D, but the aircraft slows to 210kts and does not follow the vertical descent path indicator.I have attached the file for your review. If you feel like trying my scenario, depart CYXX for…

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew if in real life: ATC tells you that you are clearded to descend to ex. FL180 from your crz alt but when they tell you to descend what if it doesn't match up with the green top of descent point on the ND what do you do...descend when ATC tells you to, or ask if you can keep cruising until the T/D? Thanks in advanceTyler

Last night I loaded punched my route into the FMC & although I didn't set the approach STAR when I departed, instead I waited until CRZ (more time up there). When it was all set everything looked ok except the ToD was showing only a few miles from where the STAR was to begin. This would have been totally unreal if I had allowed VNAV to get me there. I used Level Change & everything was ok. Is there a way to recalculate after edits like that?Dave

Hi all,Today I removed all files of my hard drive, and I reinstalled Windows XP. I've installed all of my old programs including FS2004 and PMDG, I've also set my FS2004 settings the same as before the fragmentation. But here comes the problem, my PMDG 737-600/700/800/900 version is causing all of the troubles. Everything starts to move slow and my PC crashes everytime I want to switch to Spot-plane view, also the menus and stuff are very, very slow. Before the defragmentation, I didn't have any of this problems. These are my specifications;AMD Athlon 2400 (2.00 Ghz)256 mb Graphics card512 mb RAM-memory52x speed CD-ROM driveWho knows the solution to this problem?Michael Hen…

Has anybody seen this?http://209.42.34.250/avsim/weather_error.jpgI'm just curious because I've been getting that error message frequently lately, but it only has happened while flying the PMDG 737NG, never when I fly other aircraft. Anyway, I'm not claiming that the PMDG 737NG is causing that error, but the 6-8 times that message has popped-up, I have been flying the PMDG 737NG, and I've never seen it while I fly my other planes. My Internet connection is a DSL line and none of my server programs running on the same WinXP Pro SP2 machine (WinMX, IIS, FTP, etc) has complained about losing connectivity.BTW, the worst thing about that error is that when the message pops up, …

Hi All, I have gone through most of the tutorials now for the a319 -a340 seris. I think i now have a reasonable knowledge of how the automatics are set up and behave on the buses. However i am still puzzled as to what figure to put in the BLOCK section under ZFW.How do i get this figure as it appears to be dependant on the ZFW?What does it represent?Help please?Dal

Hi GuysI just like to know as the title say, when you deploy the spoilers in-flight to slow down, are they really that load up front in the cockpit? And is there anyway of making it softer, like editing the sound.cfg or some where else, or do I need to reduce the sound of the file by recompiling it?Any ideas?I really LOVE the PMDG 737 and fly it alot and that spoiler sound is only thing I really find anoyingly loud.Kind RegardsJannier

Gday PMDG team! Your 737NG is so much fun! I found 1 small bug and thought I would post it here.I fly online lots! When you start a multiplayer game with someone and you both start at the same airport you get double the aircraft showing on your TCAS. When that other person moves the double just sits in that one position. Thanks for your time guys!

To those who have always wanted to be able to ZOOM in the NG virtual cockpit WITHOUT it also ZOOMING the outside view then by all means download this fine FREE module from Flight 1. In fact, it takes away the NEED to PURCHASE Active Camera. AC does not even do this (zoom without also zooming outside view).... You can grab it here http://atr.flight1.net/atr_downloads.aspBest Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/southparkcartmad.gif
I WANT MY 747!
Caution! Have I got this right:VNAV ALT is a "holding" altitude. For e.g., if I'm climbing to FL330, and I am given clearance to FL270 only, if I don't get cleared beyond that on the way up, I dial 270 into the ALT window and when I get there, VNAV levels me off into VNAV ALT. When I am cleared to FL330, I dial in FL330 to the FMC, and hit the FMC to resume climb. It's the reverse for descents. Is this correct?Jonathan
