Folks, This is a rare chance for one of us on the team to take a step back and admire the 747 project we have put a lot of time into. It has been years since I did any livery work, the last time was when I did the Westjet liveries for the NGX when we released (that was a long time ago). So... today I had some time to do a livery and one of the liveries is really dear to some of us on the team and I think it doesn't need any explanation so here.... Literally took our breath away! We look forward to getting this beauty in your hands! Cheers!

I can't guess if there is any interest at PMDG in Aerofly FS 2, but the platform covers at least one of their requireents - Worldwide coverage - and does it in a rather promising way looking at what is slowy but remarkably being made available. The flight dynamics of even the default aircraft are very interesting, and oppening their configyration files reveals a lot of room for detailled modeling of aero and systems. Actually everything can be done externaly and plugged into tge sim as the just released SDK may well reveal. Yes, there's also X-Plane, but that's a different story...

I was just wondering if the interphone control panel is modeled in the 747 v3? I think I saw it in some pictures. It would be awesome if the virtual flight attendant would dial a 6P code on her handset that would trigger a Cabin Ready message on the Interphone Control Panel just like in real life. This could be simulated approx. 3-5 minutes after closing all doors and would add a lot to the simulation in my opinion. In theory it doesn't sound like it would be that hard to code if it is just set to trigger with the closing of all doors when electric is on and configured for start. There could possibly even be an FMC option to turn this on or off. Just a thought. L…

Orbx Pago Pago is my favorite place to fly from and too and I now see that the 747 was a local visitor in the early 80's via Pan American Airways. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pago_Pago_International_Airport Now only to wait (and I hope it is not another full year) for my 747 to sit on that runway soon. (Beta testers maybe a picture of same?)

Hi there, So recently I started flying with the NGX 737 and I've been looking around how to use the FMC. And now I know the basics of entering a route etc, but when it comes to selecting a sid/star and the right transistion I kinda get stuck So I have a few questions about that. 1. When I select a sid or a star(selecting the sids and stars that PFPX gives me), some transitions pop up, but do I even need to choose one, and if yes, which one? Or doesn't that really matter? 2. Is there way to check on a chart? Or somewhere else? Regards, Casper

I hope I'm not raising an already covered topic, I did a quick search and couldn't find anything related in the forum. I love how you modeled the acars wind uplink function in the 777 (and I suppose in the upcoming 747 too) and I've always been a bit surprised you did not venture into modeling the metar/taf weather request via acars. At this point other products (at least one I know of) have implemented it, showing it is possible to do it (nothing is impossible for PMDG anyways). Any plans to include more acars functionality (at least with regards to weather metars/taf requests) in future updates or future products? Thank you in advance for the reply. Mike

Happy new year! I came across this route today at flightaware site from QFA with a 747 aircraft. The route is between YSSY(Sydney) and Johannesburg (FAOR) You can see it here https://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA63/history/20170104/0135Z/YSSY/FAOR some Questions 1)Are there any special operations to fly this type of route?(most southern route near antarctica )like NATs or Polar Routes ,special equipement/training etc? 2)The 747 has 4 engines so it is not suitable for ETOPs ( but LROPs qualified if i am right and 747-8i has now 330 ETOPs however) -Could this flight be planned with max ETOPs/ LROPs 180 minutes ? I made the flight plan route…

some preview in my first video test https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjrnC6xnaBM its a short fligh test but VAS always was under the line in a normal flight advise - performance testing and FMS programing and rute behavior - runway papis on arrival are bad in the scenarie - the color in the sim its afected by the ultimated realism pack from PD - Record at 1440p render by AMD ReLive sofware

I'm sure I'm not the first to stumble on this but seeing as how the release of the PMDG 744 is coming I thought this was pretty cool. The exhibit for the first 744 built is opening soon at the Delta Airlines museum in Atlanta. http://www.deltamuseum.org/exhibits/747-experience

Armen has done such stellar work on the 747 v3, that I hardly know where to begin. We have many who have taken you on video journeys... I will take you to a place where closing your eyes occasionally and dreaming of the perfect airliner silhouette responding to your lightest touch, powered by silky hydraulics that allow you to extend through the airframe and caress the air, much as you did that first time you put your hand outside the car window; will allow you a glimpse of what will be.... soon. From the outside she breathes, vibrates and blankets out her surroundings very much like a real -436. Moving around and beneath her the soundscape is as much present as …

Two questions for the PMDG team - (1) In light of the XP11 Beta release and the warm reception to it by the majority of flightsimmers, does the PMDG team have any plans of porting over their more popular models such as the NGX/777 over to X-plane? Not looking for an ETA, just whether this is is even a consideration.. (2) Was the DC-6 X-plane experiment successful enough for you to commit further to the X-plane platform in the future? Needless to say, I am one of the recent converts from FSX/P3D to X-Plane 11. I think PMDG has incredible power here to literally shape the future of X-plane by bringing over their more popular (NGX/777/747?) models over, and I for…

I was doing a walk-around today, and thought some may enjoy tagging along... it was a gloomy winter day, only brightened by my lovely girl. Beginning with FS2004 G-CVIX, Steve, Paul, Craig and I have spent many a happy hour in suspended disbelief, flying our 747-436s to the far reaches of civilization. Starting with manual fuel calculations, with a pencil and calculator we evolved with the FS evolution, and now this iteration of VX stands ready to while away a few more hours Those who have hung around these parts for decades, will remember me waxing on about VX transporting us around the world, from the Fragrant Harbour to the Northern Lights... but I digress... …

Hi I have a few questions for the BETA testers ! -If we have ALL ENG flameout, is the ELEC HYD Pump powered by motors that rotate thanks to the force of the wind? -Do you have a wind data uplink like the 777? -If one engine exceeds the 960°C EGT limit at take-off will it have consequences on the engine ? -Can we select the number of PSI we have in the masks? This is a detail but it could be great to train / learn LIM also for the OIL QTY of the ENG for a failure ? -In EEC Alternate Mode damage the engine if we stay in TOGA for too long ? For CAT IIIs : During an autoland, are the AC and DC BUS 1,2, 3 isolated at 1500ft ? -ELECTRICAL SYNOPTIC INHIBITED FOR A…

Hello everybody, is there anybody interested, when the 747 V2 is released, to do together on Vatsim a flight? We can vote here which route will be flown. Would be great when we will fly with 5 or 6 or even more 747 on Vatsim. Are you interested? And I know that they didn't said anything about the release date. greetings Jean-Pierre Bragdon

I know, this have been discussed in many topics before, but it's been a while since some dev give us an update on this. Last I found is 1 year old. Are RNP (RF, TF, etc) procedures being implemented in future patches/ airplanes? I ask this because they're coming in dozens and becoming more and more common, pretty soon they'll be retiring most tradicional procedures (already have in many airports). Thanks!

Kyle, I know most of the team does not follow the forums so please pass on my message to anyone who has worked on any of PMDG's cockpits. I was given an Oculus Rift for christmas and naturally the very first thing I did was load up a PMDG plane (777-300). The moment the sim loaded I was completely immersed in the most amazing representation of a real plane I have ever experienced. I sat in the left seat and just looked around in awe as if I had never seen any of it before. The overhead panel was actually over my head. The radios were actually below and to my right. I leaned around to my right and could see all the detail put into the rest of the cockpit tha…

Hello to all: Just stumbled upon this video. Great detailed flight of a WAMOS AIR (Callsign PULLMAN) B744 between Madrid (LEMD) and Rostock-Laage (ETNL) An obviously older aircraft, configured for 529 passengers! I counted 20 flight attendants going up the ladder! The video is a bit over one hour long with some superfluous information (good looking meals, crew rest areas, etc.) but the multi-camera video in the cockpit is very good. At times, the FO appears to be a bit overwhelmed. Landing on a relatively short runway, with very narrow taxiways and parked off-apron in a very tight spot. Enjoy! (Found it on line and I hope I am not breaking…
